Chapter 1: Escaping the Abyss

There was nothing but darkness. An infinite amount of darkness, so dark, nothing could be seen ahead but a few steps.

It was the eternal abyss of darkness.

In the eternal abyss of darkness, all souls gather to go to their specific afterlife.

There was an almost infinite amount of souls in the abyss. All the souls that still haven’t made it to the end of their march yet.

Each and every one of those souls were in a blank state, with no knowledge of who they were, where they were, why they were here, or even that they were dead.

They were all in rows and columns, moving forward at an even pace. It was like a zombie-soul army.

There was a gigantic cliff 200 km ahead, most of the souls would reach the cliff and fall into its pits.

The pit was bottomless, for it had no end.

Any soul that fell in the pit were the ones that did misdeeds and committed grave sins.

The souls that did not fall, but flew up once they reached the cliff, went to a better place.

The legion of zombie-souls kept on marching. It was either fall or flight.

In the legion zombie-soul army, march one particular strong-willed soul with a unique charisma and glow.

The one particular soul would not let its mind be restrained to a blank state like all the others.

That one soul struggle to get back control of its body. It would not let itself be restrained!!

That particular soul shook its body and face severely and managed to stop itself from taking one more step.

Taking a closer look on that particular soul, it is reveal to be the 24th emperor of the Xinbu Kingdom!!

He looks around himself completely bewildered.

Holding back his entire row of zombie-souls from moving, the 24th emperor, took flight in his soul-form and flew around the abyss.

Unable to find any weak area to escape the abyss of darkness, the 24th emperor was left with only one choice.

After doing some fast hand signs and symbols, something started to happen. The emperor’s hands started to glow this bright heavenly light. As soon as the light reached its brightest peak, the souls nearest to the emperor awakened, and started to rush towards the emperor.

They could sense the life and rebirth energy coming from the emperor, and all the souls in the abyss wanted life and rebirth.

Some of the souls wanted to be reborn again, some of them didn’t want to go to their afterlife yet, others have some unfinished business in the real world.

They all rushed towards the emperor.

“Oh no you won’t” yelled the emperor as he raised his hands upward.

At a big mansion in Ryoukai town, Xinbu Kingdom:

“Ugh, where am I?” thought a 24-year-old man that got up from bed.

A big mirror stood at the right of the man’s bed.

“What? What is this? This isn’t me” said the man out loud.

Moving his hands up and down and observing as the person in the mirror does the same thing at the same time. The man then came to a conclusion.

“My Rebirth & Resurrection spell worked” thought the man, revealing he was the emperor. “But this body…it isn’t my own”
