Why am I following these people to town.

I'm far stronger than any of them, and I don't really plan on partying with them for the long term. The witch who trapped me in the cave is long dead by now. And no one alive even knows who I am. "Alright here we are Mr. Jubeoso!" Well there is him I guess. Lucas seems like such a nice kid, like the younger brother I never had. I wouldn't mind sticking with him, and helping him. "Alright Lucas, you take Mr. Jubeoso to the guild hall to get him tested. Me and Damone will get a room at the Inn." "You got it gramps! Come on Jubeoso, let's go!" "Yup, I'm coming." Jubeoso and Lucas say their goodbye's and thanks to Colston and Damone before parting ways. They start heading towards the guildhall. They walk in silence for a bit before Lucas speaks up, "So, Mr. Rubeoso, where did you grow up?" "Alone." "Ah, o-ok." They then walk in silence until they reach the guildhall. Lucas swings open the door to the guildhall. "Hii Ms. Teresa!" A dissinterested lady at the front desk greets him, "Hello Lucas, how can I help you today?" "Oh not much, I just need to get my friend over here ranked, could you do that for us?" Lucas is clearly trying to act tough in front of Teresa. Teresa still has the same bored tone, "Yes, yes, come over here, Mr. ..." "Rubeoso." "Ok well anyway come over to this crystal." Ms. Teresa leads Rubeoso over to a giant crystal, Lucas follows closely behind him, the crystal is huge, at least a good foot on Rubeoso, who is a solid 6 feet tall. "Alright, all you have to do is press your hand and it will calculate your mana levels, after that we can head on to the battle test." "Ok." Rubeoso heads over to the crystal. He lays his hands on it's smooth skin. It is a light shade of blue that makes it so you can see into the crystal, but not all the way through. It starts shining a bright blue, so beautiful, but then it switches to a dark, dark, red. It looks as if the crystal is about to shatter, but it doesnt. His hands then get jolted off the crystal, as its color returns to a baby blue. "So what did I get?" "Yeah, Ms. Teresa what did my man Rubeoso get?" "I've never seen this before... but according to the manual a dark red means..." "What? What does it mean?!" Lucas is nearly jumping from anticipation. "0 mana." "What?" Lucas' jaw drops. Ms. Teresa snickers, "I'm afraid your, almighty, Mr. Rubeoso friend is nothing but a commoner, completely useless in battle." Honestly, I'm not suprised, I've never heard of this Mana thing before. I'm used to Stamina. "Ok, well time for your combat test, Mr. Expert." Teresa is clealy enjoying herself laughing at a 'weakling'. Rubeoso and Lucas follow Teresa outside to the arena out back. "Hey, Mr. Rubeoso, dont get hurt out there, ok." Lucas seems genuinely worried. Rubeoso laughs, "Don't worry kid, I'll be fine." "Alright, well good luck then!" As Rubeoso steps into the arena, he sees that all the stands are full with people ready to watch. He looks over at Teresa, "Hey, I thought this was just a test." Teresa just smiles. She then takes up the mic and begins talking to the crowd, "Hello ladies and gentleman! Welcome back to another fight, this time we have a special guest! Please welcome, someone just trying to get a Rank, Rubeoso the no mana adventurer!" The crowd cheers, although being slightly confused as to why someone with no mana is fighting. "And in the other corner, a crowd favorite, The Blue Jay!" A handsome young man appears at the other side of the arena. "Little known fact ladies and gentlemen, Blue Jay is actually planning on apllying for Hero Academy, our towns very own prestigious school!" The whole arena erupts in cheers, a couple girls even throw roses at him. "Hello, Mr. Rubeoso." "Hello Blue Jay." "This is my first time ever fighting someone with no mana, I'll try to go easy on you." Rubeoso laughs to himself. Teresa gets back on the mic, "Alright, fighters take your ready positions!" Blue Jay squats into a combat stance, Rubeoso doesn't take his hands out of his pockets, "And let the fight, begin!!!" Blue Jay starts off the fight by setting a power and speed buff onto himself. "Hmph, I won't even need the crowds help for this one!" Crowds help? What's he talking about? Blue Jay sprints in towards Rubeoso, he reaches him and is about to swing down with his sword when Rubeoso uses an art. Time freeze : activated Everything freezes, except Rubeoso. He walks up to Blue Jay, about to push him over. Suddenly Rubeoso senses a jolt next to him. "Why do they always send me?" Rubeoso turns around, he see's someone who appears to be in his early 20's. But somethings off, well, obviously, someone is functioning even through time freeze. Only one group of people can do that. "Yes, yes, my names Wayroz, I'm also an Arts user." Rubeoso is intrigued, "I thought all the Arts users were killed off?" "We're the same as you, we were locked away somewhere, so we missed the catastrophe. Some of us have been waking up decades ago. So everytime we sense one of us waking up, they send someone, me in this case, to intrduce us." "So what do you want with me?" "Well, if you can become king, then we'll invite you to join us. It's truly a great honor." "And what if I don't want to join your little club?" "What was that?" The Wayroz's eyes glow red. "I may be new, but I'm a top 25 arts user, know your place!" Wayroz shoots at Rubeoso faster than any humans eye can possibly register, he reaches Rubeoso and slashes down. And just like that Wayroz is stuck in a small crater in the ground. "Ngh, how?" Wayroz looks up at Rubeoso, completely unfazed, hands still in pocket. "Hmm, couldn't withstand that one." Suddenly, realization hit Wayroz, "What, how could you possibly use Time Freeze?" "Earlier was a rather weak time freeze, I didn't realize there would be any people like you. So this time I used a bit more of my power, I figured you might be able to take it." Suddenly another being pops up beside Wayroz, "Wayroz, what happened? Everyone at the council just froze besides me and the other top 5, I didn't know you were capable of power like that." He then looks down to see Wayroz in the ground. "Ah, so it wasn't you." Ohoho, that's interesting, even though I wasn't using full power, the fact that someone can withstand that time freeze is more than expected. And it seems there's at least 4 others. "Reika Sir, I'm sorry, I didn't expect much out of him, so I didn't have my guard up." "You know time freeze is based purely on max power potential." "Agh! No! I can't be weaker then this guy!" Reika looks back up at Rubeoso, "Hello, what's your name." "Rubeoso." "Well, Rubeoso, I suggest you become king so we can meet again." "I'll think about it." "Well, I'll be going now." Reika picks up Wayroz and teleports away. Heheheh this is going to be more interesting then I thought. I guess I will become king. Well, maybe not me... Rubeoso then unpuases the world.
