《Entertainment Cafe》Opening Day

June opened her eyes. *Blinkblink*
Where was she? She could've sworn she was taking a nap on the couch, why was she in a bed in a room she had never seen before?
She looked around, and saw a stairwell to the left of her and a bathroom to the right. Rushing down the stairwell there was 20 or so Booths with VR systems and computer interfaces. Where the hell am I!! she thought.
She ran outside with a dash, oblivious to the fact she was still in her pajamas, and looked at the building she was in. A sign with big bolded letters on top.
Fruitbowl Entertainment
She ran back inside and looked at a monitor at the front desk, it was on and read.
" Dear owner you are now in possession of a new entertainment centre, click here for your free gift! "
She looked ast the screen baffled, it obviously looked like a scam, even worse a scam in a dream.
" This isn't a scam, neither a dream, Owner please collect your gift! "
She pinched herself.
It hurt.
So June resigned herself that this was her new reality and clicked accept.
Soon she felt an agonizing pain in there forehead, so much worse than all the headaches she used to get from watching too much tv. June felt like throwing up all her organs, but soon the pain passed.
[Ding new screen access]
[You can now access the menu by thinking 'menu']
Well I've got literally nothing to lose anymore 'Menu'
[---Videogame System activated---]
[Host: June Anabelle]
[Available Games: None]
[Available Items: None]
[Ding! Beginners Package availiable]
June decided to just get it over with and activate the beginner's package.
[Package Contained: Portal]
Oh Portal, that was a fun game, June thought. She began to think about her future, what she will do from now on and came to the most natural solution.
She would run the Cafe and make money! enough to live and find out what happened to her!

She pulled up her sleeves and got to work! It was then she realized that she was still in her pajamas and ran upstairs for a shower.
20 minutes later...
June was on the first floor wearing a grey longsleeved shirt and overalls. Dispite her being in a new place it had everything she normally wore in the closet. She checked the system on the computer, a little figure appeared.
"Hiya June! I heard you unlocked Portal! If you check your games and Item's folder they will have new Items!
[Available Games: -Portal
[Available Items: - APTD (Portal Gun) - 2000 Crystals
[Food Unlocked: -Black Forest Cake (Unpoisoned)-]
"Hey June! You can open your store any day but you have to have 20 Crystals income by the end of the week!"
"Wait why?" Asked June
"Because~" Said the figure "If you don't you will cease from existence!"
"Oh Dear God" said June with wide eyes.
"You're fine as long as you get at least 20 Crystals!"
"What's the money here?" Asked June still moderately worried
"10 silvers equal a gold, 10 gold equal's a crystal, usually one silver can buy 5 loaves of bread!" Said the unnamed system figure.
"I'll let you decide the prices! but once they are set you can't change it!"
June nodded, and began to set the system prices, thinking about it for a while the price for Portal was decided to be 5 golds per 30 minutes, and she set the price.
"You can also accomplish missions to unlock new games!"
June thought about what the missions could be and heard a ding.
[Ding! Missions availiable: Get a Customer, A Customer buys food, Get 20 Customers]
June thought those were some pretty reasonable missions. June walked to the front door and flipped the closed sign to open, and sat behind the desk fiddling with the system menu.
POV Nanami
My name is Nanami, I was walking home from school when I saw a new store on the street. 'Fruitbowl Entertainment' As I have some free time I decide to check it out. Inside was a girl who looked quite pretty, sitting at the front desk, I decided to walk up to her.

"Hello?"
"Oh uh yes?" The woman looked like she dazed out a bit and responded a bit slow.
"What is this place?"
"Its and entertainment center, like an arcade" She said
"What's an arcade?" I had never heard of something called an arcade before.
The young woman's face looked a little weird.
"You don't know what an arcade is?" She asked.
I shook my head.
"Well its a place to relax and play games." She said.
"Oh and who are you?" I asked
"I'm June or you can call me Boss, I'm the owner of this place." June replied.
I nodded again and looked around seeing the weird looking chairs and glass boxes.
"What are those?" I ask
"Videogame consoles" June responded "You can take a try if you want, price is 5 gold"
Now it is my turn to look at June with bafflement.
"5 Gold?"
"Yeah, anything wrong?" asked June
"Isn't that pretty expensive?"
"Depends, On whether you think it's fun" June says with a smile
I decide to give it a shot and booted up one of the "Consoles"
June POV
I watch as the little girl walks to the Computer and puts her 5 gold in the slot and the helmet on her head to enter the game. Soon I can hear her gasp in amazement moving around in the game. Looking at the monitor at my desk I can see what she's doing and she mainly seems to be exploring her surroundings.
Nanami POV
I enter the "game" and look around I'm in a whole new world! I seem to be trapped in a glass box, and I hear a mechanical voice above me and I get into position to attack if nessesary, but soon I realize I can't use inner strength in here!
It seems the mechanical voice doesn't want to hurt me and is just telling me what's going on. After listening for a bit, it seems I'm going to take a series of tests. I frown I came here for relaxing not to take tests! I do plenty of those in school! Soon a weird circular door like thing opens and I walk through it only to see the glassbox in front of me! How did I get here! Looking back through the door I see through the glass room, there is a girl in a orange suit, and when I look down I realize it's me!
I walk through another door and and the mechanical voice tells me to put the box on the button, I see a big red button in the center of the room once I put the box on it another door opens, And I think to myself that if all the puzzles are this simple I can get it done really soon.
Jane POV
I watch as the new girl walks with confidence to the next room, only to see that the puzzles get progressivily harder. I chuckle a bit, as the puzzles will only get harder from there, after 30 minutes pass the girl is only halfway through the puzzles and the game pauses and she is ejected from the game.
"So was it fun?" I ask
"It was! Can I continue? I really want to beat another test." She said
"As long as you have 5 more gold you can play" I tell her.
"Sure, I can I got my allowance a couple of days ago and this is really fun!"
"Hey kid wait a minute."
"yeah" She paused and asked
"What's your name?" I ask, "Just so I can stop calling you kid."
"I'm Nanami Azure, nice to meetcha." and then Nanami put 5 more Gold into the machine.

The Desecrator's Tomb - A Numbers Lit-aRPG
A man appears in a dungeon full of undead. He tries to leave. This is my attempt at writing a litrpg where the system is more formalized. This means that there will be a fair amount of min-maxing and we will hopefully be able to calculate the dps of every ability by the time I am done. Expect math. The main character will become a Drain Tank. This story uses an aRPG item and stat system. Oh and one last thing. Beware the penguins. update 1/8/22: I am trying to simulate things as faithfully as is reasonable. As of chapter 17 there are animated gifs depicting Chilly's life throughout encounters. update 1/11/22: Kreksyte drew me a cover! All hail our artist overlords! update 5/25/22: Going on hiatus for a bit. The second arc is complete. Will come back for the 3rd and final arc soon. update 7/15/22: ayy...I've returned. Starting the third and final arc. [was once a participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]

She hires Madrigal, a surly young traveller hailing from an "unblessed" village, to take her to the southern lands. The swordsman is on the run from something, or someone, but Jian has no choice but to trust him. When the two leave the safety of the familiar and meet Quinn, a mysterious boy who seems to know more about Jian than she does about herself, it becomes clear that there are forces besides the old magics, forces completely unknown to the people of Isla, in play.
