《EX-Tier Loser (GameLit Fantasy)》5. Skills

Magic. If someone mentioned it yesterday, I would think that person was crazy and should be sent to a mental hospital as soon as possible.
But, with the appearance of God earlier, I now thought that Magic would be normal. I mean, a New Continent popped up out of nowhere, there was nothing more stranger than that.
“Yeah yeah, just say it. I bet it’s a shit skill.” John mocked Jin, but it seemed that Jin didn’t even register it in his ear.
“Cough, my skill is an S rank skill called ‘The Light Bearer.’ It allows me to control the light to attack and heal wounds! I don’t know how to, but I will figure out how it works immediately. I have 9 Mana though, it’s a bit lower than Rena.”
“Hah! You are a healer? With your appearance?” Mocked John when he heard Jin’s skill.
“HAH?! Do you have a problem with that? Just tell us your skill, you bastard?” Jin glared at John, but he was greeted with a smile on John’s face.
“Fine! My skill grade is A, it is called ‘The Lord of Darkness.’ From the description, the skill allowed me to do something like blinding my opponent and attacking my opponent using shadow! I have 9 Mana.”
“Just A? Hahahaha, you are a grade lower than me!” Jin pointed his index finger towards John and laughed.
“Hah, but my attack is stronger. Also, I can use the shadows to make a shield to defend against attacks!”
“Hah?! Want to see who’s stronger?!”
Both of them began to push each other with their hands. Their forehead touched each other, and their face frowned.
Looking at them, Rena shouted.
“Stop that, you duo idiots!”
Both of them stopped immediately and saluted Rena out of habit.

“”YES MA’AM!””
“Sigh, how about both of you?” She then turned to Kyo and Ryo.
Both of them looked at each other before nodding their heads then turned to Rena.
“Both of us have the same skill, it’s called ‘Water and Ice’ with B grade. The effect is like John’s skill, it seems we will be able to use Water and Ice magic. Our mana is also the same, we have 8 Mana.” Explained the older twin, Kyo.
Hearing their skill, I touched my chin with my right hand and muttered.
“That’s a really good skill. That means we don’t have to worry about getting water if we visit the New Continent in the future.”
Rena heard me and smiled.
“But we won’t visit it now. We need to train ourselves first and figure out how to use our skills. But, now we need to do the most important thing.”
Rina bumped her fist with her palm and got an evil smile on her face.
“It’s training time, boys!”
The boys’ faces paled, I also got scared a little. When Rena was like this, she wouldn't take no for an answer.
I wanted to say no, but when I thought about it again, I just nodded my head at Rena, surprising her and the boys.
If we want to change our fate, we must work harder than anyone in the world.
‘I want to be a winner. To do that, I must train myself.’
Being a Loser sucked, and the boys seemed to understand my thought because they smiled at Rena.
“Bring it on, Rena! Be it demon or monster, we will take it all!” Exclaimed Jin as he took a step forward.
“Hmm, I don’t want to admit it, but this time I agree with Jin. Bring it on, give us the training. Let’s change our fate.” John stepped forward and smiled.

And so, we decided to retire for the night.
The change was so absurd, and it happened when the sun was about to set. The sky had gone dark now, and we were tired after today’s events.
However, before we went to sleep, we had one worry.
“We need two people to keep looking out when the others are sleeping. We will go with a shift of three hours. Our place right now is the closest to the New Continent, I can guess that a lot of reckless people will try to cross to the New Continent tonight.” Suggested Rena.
I agreed with her, so I raised my hand.
“I will go first.”
“No, you will go last with me, Victus.” Rejected Rena.
I was at a loss for words and lowered my hand slowly. Rena looked at me seriously.
“I have something to talk about with you, just the two of us.”
Could it be, she noticed that I lied to them? No, that was not the case. It was something else. The look in her eyes was that of concern, I was the weakest one here, and then I noticed.
‘She wanted to train me first before the boys?’
In Society, the Loser had their own way to survive. For me, it was my brain. I wouldn’t say that I was a genius, but I could guess the emotion and the intention of other people just by looking at their faces.
‘There is nothing wrong with training early.’
I nodded my head at Rena, “Alright. I will sleep first then.”
“No one objects, right?” Asked Rena with an intimidating smile.
The boys shook their heads and Kyo raised his hand.
“Then I and Ryo will stay and watch the night first.”
Rena seemed to have no problem with that. She nodded her head.
“Alright, we are counting on you.”
“Tsk! So I will have my shift together with John?” Grumbled Jin.
“Don’t complain, we are counting on you.” Rena glared at Jin, and he nodded his head obediently.
As I said before, Jin and John were always arguing with each other, but their teamwork was perfect because they knew each other.
They argued because they were too similar to each other. The reason for their fight was silly, but well, anyone had a different way of getting along with someone else.
And so, the four of us retired for the night inside the abandoned warehouse.
We just slept in any place, Jin and John went to sleep on the couch, Rena slept on the damaged bed while I just slept on the floor beside Rena’s bed with a blanket.
“Good night, Victus.” Said Rena from the bed.
A smile crept on my face. It has been a long time since someone wished me a good night. The last time would be in the orphanage.
“Good night, Rena. Have a nice dream.”
“Yeah.”

The Morgulon
Greg never really wanted to become a werewolf hunter. He just wanted to prove to his father that he could do the job his family was famous for, maybe earn some money while he’s at it. He certainly never wanted to become a werewolf, or run away from home, or fight the inquisition. Unfortunately, as his brothers would say, fate has a shitty sense of humour. Updates on Mondays. "I feel like this story perfectly represents how you can't judge a book by its cover (or, in this case, concept). Edgy badboy werewolf teen romance? Yeet that concept out the window and get ready for an action-packed fantasy with an incredibly built world and logical, realistic characters." "This is a great story, probably better than any werewolf novel I've read. It's certainly not a typical werewolf story (but don't let that stop you from reading it, the werewolves are still amazing.)" "A werewolf story where people aren't constantly meeting gruesome ends that still maintains a gritty atmosphere. Realistic worldbuilding and character design make this a must read!" - RR reviews The first chapter is also on DeviantArt, more may follow.
