《Devour》Chapter 27: Bm

Traveling alone, Jio decided to visit the Blood Moon Cult territories to gather information and hone his skill. He hopes to find a way to end the war and wants to know who controls the Blood Moon Cult.
No spy dares to stay in the enemy's territory for so long since no matter what they do, they always get caught and would lead to death. Jio, on the other hand, survives for more than a year, saving countless people he encounters. The people who can not work or don't serve the Dark One will be capture to be sacrificed.
The Reaper makes sure to imprint fear to the cult's heart.
When Jio walks around a small camp, he sees a cult member running towards him, asking for help.
"Brother! Help me; an enemy spy is after me," The Cult member asks Jio since he wears the same Blood Moon Cult uniform to lay low in the enemy's territory.
Jio looks at him as they heard people scream for help and die. When the hunter gets out of the last tent, Jio sees a fairy-like beauty that can enchant anyone who saw her face but right now, she's a beast hunting her prey.
It's none other than the Gecko lady.
When the cult member realizes that Jio is not a cult member and tries to activate his blood sacrifice, he sees a skull for a face with a fire burning the eye sockets. His body froze on the spot, and he started to feel cold as he saw a dagger in his stomach.
"The Reaper..." The cult member let out before he falls to the ground, dead.
"It's you again!" Bm said in her surprise.
"We meet again, Bm, wait... you can tell with my mask?" Jio confusingly asks.

"Silly you, remember I have the power of the Slime Queen," Bm smiles and continues, "Bm? What do you mean by that?"
"I don't know your name, so I made up one just for you! It means beautiful monster, did you like it?" Jio innocently answers.
Bm slightly smiles, followed by a blush in her cheeks, but she regains her composure and says, "Anyways, I need to stop this group before they give the message to all Blood Moon Cult and allied forces about the revival of the Dark One."
"Good thing, they're all dead," Jio comments.
"Not all," Bm let out.
Bm leaves the leader alive inside the tent and interrogates the cult member about the group's mission. Jio (The Reaper, still wearing the mask) uses his fire magic into his mask and scythe, giving him a fire effect like an actual Death in front of the cult member while his voice also changes thanks to the mask's structure, making him sounds more sinister.
The guy can feel the heat from the mask and scythe since it is covered with blazing fire like the gates to hell.
"Tell me, do you want to die in agony like, to be burned alive or an instant death, where I slice you in half?" The Reaper asks while the fire move according to his voice or mood.
"I tell you anything you want, just don't kill me!" The cult member let out as he pees.
"Start talking then!" The Reaper's eye socket blaze brighter then simmer down, and the guy felt like the fire went weak, giving him the expression that he'll be fine as long as he complies with The Reaper's demands.
"Well, the content of the message is to tell everyone to retreat," The cult member said and continues, "And deal with the enemy when the Dark One is revived!"

"I see," Bm nods while Jio and the cult member look at her fairy-like face.
"Does this mean..." Without warning, The Reaper cut his head with no blood coming out since the scythe is hot enough for the wound to close as soon it made contact.
Jio puts Jon back to the storage ring and starts looking at the cult members' body hoping to loot something good this time. Most of the universal bags contain random goods like money, clothes, soul weapon, etc. The leader's universal bag includes the letters from the High Priest to retreat.
When Jio went to the leader's tent and opened a box, he collected three fist-size space rocks, and it looks like a professional blacksmith removed most of the impurities.
"You're in luck, Jio; I have space rock from looting," Bm looks at Jio, knowing that the space rock she owns is not free.
"I understand. Do you want to trade it with my last Dragon pear for your space rock?" Jio offers.
"You still have one? Yes, I don't mind!" Bm happily replies as she takes out the space rock.
"This is more than the Elders' space rock! Is it really okay?" Jio asks.
"Yes, I have no use to it anyways," Bm let out.
After they trade goods, Bm eats the treasured fruit "Dragon Pear" while Jio takes Jon out and devours the space rock. Bm let the energy from the Dragon Pear travel around her body then to her eyes. When she finally opens her eyes, she saw Jio staring at her with black armor covering his body.
"So how's the Dragon Pear? Did it helps you?" Jio asks.
"Yes, it helps me a lot," Bm happily answers.
"That's good to hear, and why are you here anyway? If you don't mind me asking," Jio said.
"It's the Dark One from the ancient time of the Blood Moon Cult," bm answers without hesitation like she trusts Jio without a doubt.
"If you don't mind again, can I come along with you? Since we are fighting the same enemy?" Jio cautiously asks.
"..." Bm thought about it for a hot minute and decided to agree since they have the same goal and it's safer to go as a team. She nodded to Jio and started to walk together and vanish in the dark.
