《Devour》Chapter 11: Louder Than Words

There this force pulling him into nothingness, complete darkness, then a voice on the back of his head saying, "Embrace the darkness since everything started in this cold void of nothingness."
An explosion somewhere in this vast darkness producing a ball of light like the sun, and the voice continues to speak, "Curiosity will lead you to the truth, but..." The ball of light shines brighter until it swallows Jio whole before the voice finishes the sentence.
When he opened his eyes, a familiar setting he'll never forget. A regular village Hall surrounded by seven houses and trees while the sun is about to set in the south and he thought what a nostalgic feeling but his face quickly turn stern and realize he is in the past. Jio notices a pack of shadow wolves in the shadows waiting for the mountain peak's shadow to cover the whole village. Jio aggressively pounces towards the nearest shadow wolf, but Jon passed through the body without harming the shadow wolf like everything is made out of the light.
Jio keeps on attacking, but the results keep repeating no matter what he does. The alpha howls while the rest of the pack moves out and starts attacking the village. The shadow wolves are like sharks in the shadows leaping and tearing the villagers' body limbs by limbs as they get caught by the shadow wolf's razor-sharp teeth. Since regular humans can't blend with shadows, their bodies hit the ground hard and drag by the shadow wolf until they stop moving or lost their life.
He watches everything while his father, mother, and friends die all over again, but this time it's in front of him, powerless and hopeless. He doesn't want to stop attacking the shadow wolf, but he cannot touch them nor exist in this space and time as he falls to his knee, feeling useless while darkness slowly covering his body whole.

*Back in the real world*
The girl looks surprised at what she's witnessing right now. Jio's head is covered by Jon morphing into a monster-like being roaring and suffering but without sound like a mute in distress.
*Jio's mind*
When Jio is about to get covered by darkness, a dragon about seventy-five meters long opens its mouth and is ready to swallow Jio whole, but tears flow in Jio's face while the solidified darkness starts to melt. The dragon is clearly in a state of shock, seeing it melt.
*In the real world*
Jon looks like it's melting and morph something like an incomplete body embracing Jio as he embraces back.
*Jio's mind*
The scene immediately changes where Jio is talking to his village mother during the attack. When his village mother kisses his forehead and tells him to run as fast as he can, his village mother holds a knife and start shouting with her husband getting all the attention of the shadow wolves away from him.
The scene changes again where Mrs. De Vil is slaughtering most of the shadow wolves, including the alpha, as the rest of the shadow wolves start to run with human body parts in their mouth. She plans to hunt all of them but notices Jio's village mother.
"Hero *coughing blood and blurry sight* please take care of my son...his ten...and," Mrs. De Vil stops the lady and tells her that he is safe. Her husband is taking good care of him right now, but Jio's village mother stops moving, which implies that she passes away, and her face looks so peaceful knowing that her son is safe.
After Mrs. De Vil gets back apologizing that she cannot save Jio's mother, she immediately hugs Jio and says that she's willing to adopt him and said that his mother loves him so much as her last word.

Everything turns black again where he started but with a colossal dragon surrounding him and said, "You pass, I thought you would be consumed by the darkness hidden within your heart," nodding and continue, "As the ancient dragon promised, I will show you what you seek."
The light swallows him again, but this time the original five-meters long dragon is beside him.
"Those Blood Moon Cult started to kill the mother and the offspring of that wild Tritanks. (Triceratops like beast) Making the father so mad and sadden, abandoning all hopes letting him believe that our God has abandoned them. He was mistaken; cursed by our God with a blessing, and this beast receives the knowledge and wisdom about everything costing him his life... And the time to take his revenge."
The dragon's face turns ugly and lets out, "Those Blood Moon Cult are the worse than the demons I meet before that didn't care if they die as long they finish their mission which is your school."
*Real-world*
Jio wakes up with blood tears in his eyes.
The elder in the middle speaks, "Your silence is appreciated, my new friend."
"Thank you, elders," Jio said as he bows his head.

Reborn Into My Novel
What if you lived in the world of your own creation? As fate would have it, our dear amateur novelist, Ellie, was reborn into the world of her fantasy novel after falling asleep at her computer. Bewildered as she was, the first person that she met was the protagonist of her novel. To add salt to the wound, it was right before the tragedy that decimated his village as per his backstory. Will Ellie save the village (and herself) to risk changing the fundamentals of her novel? Will she instead let the story run its course and leave everyone in the village to their deaths? Disclaimer: This novel is a work in progress and will be updated hopefully at least once a week. Expect minor mistakes (maybe some typos and punctuation errors) since this is the very first draft. The author suffers from perfectionism and impostor syndrome and therefore attempts to use this as sort of a therapy to break away from perfectionism and self doubt. Basically, the author employs a “I don’t care anymore and screw this trash work” mindset just to get stuff rolling and not set any expectations. Basically, basically, the author just wants to write something and not care about planning and quality and all those nice things about writing a GOOD novel since it’s counterproductive. Kthxbye. ps: Thanks for even reading this trash work pps: You’re not trash for reading this trash work btw ppps: Thanks I love y’all so much Shout out!
