Light has never know about any complete full-dive VR system since it was never exist. However, there is similar object already exist that can be used to build up a VR: a game

People said “Life is a game” and there were many games made to mimic life.

So

What is the different between a game and a VR anyway?

Isn’t it all made from computer code? Maybe how entertain it is?

Isn’t a RPG game or MMORPG game is similar to a world itself? The only different is the world’s point of view, I said.

How about a VR game? What is the different between it and a normal VR system?

The “world”, sometimes defined as information from your surroundings. Then, for a full-dive VR, the different between a VR game and a VR is the world’s set of rule, no?

To create a game, for example a MOBA game popular nowadays like War of Legends (WoL) or Guardians of the Towers Ancient (GoTA), there are steps have to be done but there are two works that can’t be missing: The graphic design and the module writing

Graphic design is just as same as what it’s named. You have to design and create subjects, visual effects and a bunch of things to help the player see the world in game to interact with the game’s world

Module writing is even harder. To let the world of game running, you have to create modules. The more detail the game, the more modules need to be written. The modules are like the rules of a game world, like the nature laws.

Like mentioned above, something as simple as LW or GoTA need years to finished, hundred thousands of modules have to be written and combined into a system

And that is only a flat world with intractable objects like minions, enemies, towers, shops… and unchanged environments light background, rules of the game, the way minions attack,…

Just how many more modules they had to write to make minions can abandon their route line, hide in the jungle to ambush players or players can break through a terrain to create their own moving road or maybe a change in the weather that also change the actions of other objects in the game?

And all of mentioned above can’t comparable to a fiction reality created with computer. There are even more modules have to write. Just thought about it made Light’s mind dizzy but also excited at the same time

However, Light will need a lot of manpower to finish this project

The similar rules can be created just by changing a few numbers of the same module but the basic rules, each need a set of modules write independently. How simple this world is in your eyes, it have numerous basic rules sets for different objects.

If this world we are living in could be created by world editor software then the modules contained information of each and every species can be seen as above. The evolutions can be counted as bugs in this system. Bugs make the system changed despite it was an unchangeable system. Our impacts on the world, the good impacts could be counted as a world’s patch or upgrades, the bad influence we made could be seen as an intervene software, virus programs that had twisted this world laws and harm the system itself.

All of the things and factors I mentioned above are brought up to help you easier to imagine and understand about the works Light have to do.

Again, how many works Light have to finish in order recreating a world in his VR? Be it alone, maybe few life times are not enough

Who will help him with his crazy dream?

This is where the stolen money came into use.

On a site note: Why do you think Light try to make a VR game along with a VR system? Why is it not a normal VR program?

Isn’t it just how people do? Make things more interesting. Will you feel joy just by able to do what you always do every day like brushing your teeth or walking on the streets in a VR or you prefer something more interesting, for example: experience a super jump few hundred meters, firing magic from your hand or something abnormal like that.

After all, the different between it is only the world set of rules, isn’t it?

If Light just make a boring VR program along with his VR system, how long can it keep people interesting?

Then with the same VR system but the VR program having another set of rules that is not this world set of rules, do you think there will be different?

If people want to use the program in a different way, the only thing they need is change the already programed set of rule, turn on or off some rules or change the value of number in the object’s or phenomenon’s field. Isn’t it a work saving method?

As long as the program keep secret, Light still monopoly this industry for a long time enough to replenish the fund and making profit.

Because everyone loves game, right?

Almighty University is one of the largest and oldest Universities in the South East region. But the note-worthy of Almighty University isn’t about how large or how old it is, It’s about there are only elites of elites in the whole adjacent areas are allowed to take part in here. Talk about Almighty University is talk about people who life for one purpose only, to obtain knowledge and become successful. The most successful division in Almighty University must be High-tech division. This is where the elites in many fields like physic, chemical, science and information technology gather together. It was first found as a division for students who love robotic technology so they could gather together, study robots and go to competitions. After obtain fame obtain from winning these competitions, the school make a decision to larger the scale of divisions since this division’s achievements could be used to advertise for the school. Nowadays, the high-tech division can funding itself by selling stuffs supported for people everyday life their invented; Network security service is also one of the division’s income.

Light came to the principal’s office today to propose an offer for talent students. In fact, He has already paid about 100,000 coins for company register procedure, detective service and bribery. There is no ways the school can lend their talent students to some unknown stranger without even a name. By creating a company, at less, Light could say he just started up a company and want to recruit young people who have ambitions and want to challenge the world instead of joining already large corporations. Still, asking for talents people require a meeting with the principal or the teacher in charge of the division and bribery was need to made thing progress. In this corrupted region, the downside is you had to have connections and money to made things move but the bright side is as long as you have enough money, you could create connections and faster the progress. Light already spend money to investigate the Almighty University’s principal, arrange a meeting “by accident” and successfully bribed him to accept his offer. Today meeting was more like a required to cover people eyes.

Still, Light could not help but sweating in front of the school’s gate. Part of it came from his lack of communicate and the other part was because he look nothing different than students who pass by him. The last time when he met the principal, there was a middle man to talk in his stead so despite he was nervous, everything gone well. Today he was alone.

“Excuse me! I have a meeting with the principal today. Where should I find him? Can you tell the principal that I had arrived?” Light muster all his courage and asked an old security guard who sit in the booth near the school gate because if he was hesitate anymore, the meeting time may pass

“Are you an outsider, young man? What business do you have here?”

“I want to ask the school for talents, sir. You see, I just start up a small company and I want to recruit people who have the same interests” Light said as he hand the old guard a visiting card

“Wait a minute! I have to confirm it” The old man replied and pulled out his phone, calling someone for a while. He just threw the card in a corner, not interested in it even a little bit

“Ok! You can pass. No! I will get someone to go with you. You over there! Bring this kid to the Principal Office. He has a meeting with the principal” The old guard call out for a younger guard who was standing in a hidden corner to smoke

“Come with me, young one!” The young guard hastily came out from the corner and gesture Light to follow him

Follow the guard, Light sit on an automatic electric vehicle with him and the vehicle started moving after the guard pushing something on it.

“It will be a pain walking few kilometers to reach Principal Office and you would easy to get lost in here so It is better to travel with this” The guard explained to Light, who seen an automatic vehicle the first time in his life

Automatic vehicles isn’t something never hear of to Light. However, since the facilities of the region still not suited for automatic vehicles to run on the roads, most people in the region had never seen it before. In this Almighty University, the school set up 4 pillars in the 4 corners of the school. These pillars keep export and import signal to collect information inside the area. This system also worked as a small scale GPS, combined with the school map had been digital and connect to the automatic vehicles, made up a network of automate vehicle. All you need to reach a building or an area marked on the school’s map is select it on the vehicle’s screen. The vehicles were builds with scanning device on it that allowed it to detect subject around them and stop when need to avoid any accident. The school’s automatic vehicles system was builds to help students travel in school since the school’s ground was too large to walk on foots.

After 10 minutes or so sitting on the vehicle, Light reached his destination.

“The Principal Office is located in the top floor. I will wait you here so don’t worry about the way back” The guard said, obviously he just want to stay in a corner, smoking and do nothing in the time without being scorn by his superior

Light looked up the building stand before him and suddenly want to give up everything. It was a ten floor building.

“I guess I have no choice but move on”

After a boring and tiring progress of climbing stairs, Light stand in front of the Principal Office. Adjust his breath back to normal, he knocked on the door

“Come in!” a strong voice came out from the office

“Good morning, mister principal” Light greeted

Principal Coragen of Almighty University. Just few months ago, Coragen was still a sub-principal. You did not hear it wrong, it was sub-principal.

People in corrupted regions love to add subs for themselves so they could blame their subs when something bad happened. Lucky for Coragen, the trouble his former principal got in was something he could not blame on other. The former principal attempted to steal research subjects of the student. Normally, no one would believe the students if they told their research being stolen by the principal but this time, the guy who has been took away his research was someone with enough connections and he was able to show the proofs of his work. The former principal arrested by the police and the school’s reputation damaged because of this event. Coragen, 56 years old sub-principal who famous for his straightforward was nominated as the next principal to easy the media’s critics, regain student’s trust and save the school’s downfall reputation.

“Let go straight to the point and finish this soon. I have many work needed to be done today so I don’t have many time for you” The old middle-aged principal said bluntly, obviously angry for some reason

This corrupted social teach Light: even if one did not want to be corrupted, they are still be able to corrupt or at less look like that.

Few days before the meeting at Principal Office, through investigate, Light brought gift to the principal Coragen’s house when he was not there and successfully give it to his wife; Light made sure people saw him came in with a gift box and came out empty hand. Light also use money to found out about Coragen’s bank account’s number and sent him some money too. Everything cost quite a bit but with it, Light was able to bind the principal into his palm. After then, Light just simply met Coragen when he comeback and request a meeting in Almighty Principal Office. At first, Coragen tried to give the gift back but Light tell Coragen:”As long as people saw me successfully give it to you, whenever you give it back or even throw it away, it is still a bribe to them”. Not wanting another scandal for his school, Principal Coragen gave up, accepted a meeting with Light after then.

“I’m very sorry about how uncomfortable you have to feel, mister principal, but there was no different way to make you hear me out, wasn’t it?”

“So what do you want me to hear you out?”

“My name is Light. I’m the director of Worlds Creator Ltd Company”

“I’m Coragen, the principal of this university but you knew it before you did “that” to me, didn’t you? And you sure have a good naming sense, aren’t you? Didn’t you realize if your company’s name could be shortening, it would sound like public’s bathroom?” Coragen said, hardly hide his snigger

“My company was established few days ago. There are only me and an accountant. I wish to obtain helps from Almighty University. For more details, I want you to lend me some of your talent your students.” Light still talk indifferently

“Are you insane? A new established company without any employees! And you want me to hand you my students? Do you understand what you are talking about?” principal Coragen shouted, full of anger

“Calm down! Let me told you the full story first. Did you ever hear about Virtual Reality Technology?”

“Isn’t it a new and incomplete technology since the last years of previous century? What do you want to say?”

“I want to develop that technology, you see? I want to borrow students with good programing and design skills in your schools to help build it with me. It will be great help if you can also send some guys who can design and create hardware, those who participate in the “Robococon” competition every year maybe suited this work, don’t you think?”

“Are you day dreaming? And you even had to do “that” for this? Isn’t this impossible?” Coragen keep mocking Light’s plan

‘I just want to jump at him right now’ Light thought

“How about I put it like this: I will sponsor the school a set amount of money every year in exchange for the talent students come and working at my place. I will even pay these students monthly salary. With this, there is nothing disadvantage to your side. Whenever happen, you can say this as “a project to help students have a chance to experience what they have learned in real work” or “to give student a stable income to support their life”. Isn’t this is what many university doing now a days? If there is a rare chance the development of the VR technology is successful, I will announce it as “our work”, the company and the university, and the university’s fame surely skyrocket. Isn’t this has no harm but profit to your side? What do you say?” Light rapidly “attack” principal Coragen with reasons

“This proposes of you indeed sound good like a scam. What will I say to my student about this?”

“There is no need to tell them the truth. You only need to announce that the university will have a project to help students obtain more experience outside the class, a training program where students will come to companies to work in there. You can tell them they will have salary for their work and bonus score from school if they are able to take part in this program. I need you to make a selection to choose students and I also require the student profile in the name of common formality”

“It will be hard”

“I already made a plan to minimum the expense in progress…” Light and principal Coragen spend all the morning to discuss about the project

When he forced to make a meeting, principal Coragen thought Light try to trick him to do bad things in the name of his school. Unexpectedly, he found out that Light was not that bad as he thought, It’s just the way Light arranged the meeting was abnormal. Anyway, in case Light really trick him, principal Coragen already record all the conversation as prove if something bad happen. Coragen was a straight forward but it’s not like he was a fool who blindly charge forward.

It was a messy room. There were dozens of men pack in the room, all of them were sweaty. This was the meeting room of MP14; the police division specialized in gang conflicts.

“I can’t accept this! This is the 6th case and we still have no clue who did all of this” a bulking old man shouted. All the others man in the room suddenly feel a cold in their back despite the hell-like temperature in the room

“Cool down, Chief! It couldn’t be help since there was no camera footstep or witness”

“He is right, Chief. It was not even decided whenever or not this fall into out range. It was clear that all of the victims were member of black-credit organizations but the method of the criminal and other details make it look more like a series murder than a gang conflict. The Homicide team is also investigate this case and ask us to step out of this”

“Tell them that they can step out by themselves. Like hell we will back away from a case like this” the chief said

From 6 weeks ago until now, there were 6 cases of murder happen in the rainy day. At first, the police force only thought of it as nothing but traffic accidents. However, someone realize all the victims were people from the underground organizations. All of the victim’s cause of death was brain damaged, in a rainy day and a rural area. The some insiders told the police about the money, the dirty money these victims had to transmit has been taken away. The homicide cases look like accidents finally catch the police’s attention.

At the same time with the police’s meeting, there was another meeting in another place.

“Welcome all of you to the Worlds Creator Office” Filline, the accountant of Worlds Creator greeted

Graduated from the same college as Light, Filline took a part-time job since she had the same issue as Light when going to interview. Filline’s overall ability isn’t high but the carefully in her work made her became an idea accountant for Light’s company. Part of the reason was Light thought she could be a trustworthy company of him since he knew her well in their 3 years study in the same class.

In front of Filline were the chosen students from Almighty University. Light pushed the greeting on her, saying he has work to do. Except for Filline, there were five guys and two girls in the room.

“What wrong with this place? I thought we will work in a big company or something since the university made that huge selection” Kay complained

Kay is 26 this year. He is last year student of Almighty University. Kay’s outer appearance looked more like someone who do physical labor than someone who usually sit in front of a computer. He is a hard-core gamer who was banned in 90% online game stores for facility damage.

“It’s fine as long as the payment they promised is the truth” Aisha said

Be second year students, normally, Aisha should show some respect for her senior but to this girl who see nothing except money, if respect did not bring her money, she don’t give a shit. It’s sound too extreme to a 19 years old girl like Aisha but it could not be help since she was working to changing her poor life. At the very less, She still trustworthy in this project in Light’s eyes since she is the type who reasonable enough to not let 100 million coins in the future go just because the greed of 1 million in front of her.

“Come on, you guys… and girls! We are a team now! T – E- A – M, TEAM! There is no way we will kill the final boss if we are act alone. How about you guys and beautiful young lady over there? You are thinking as same as me, right? If this upgrade we are about to make success, there will be a higher lever cap in the game world” Long butted in to easy the mood. However, the way which he look at the situation seem a little odd.

Same age as Aisha but just enrolled in the University this year, Long was fail in the first attempt because he forgot to study, busied to test the new released games that year. With his good programing skill and his friendly nature, Light hoped he can be the connections between members since making a great game require the team’s solidarity.

“All I want is a chance to create the ultimate beauty in the world create by this project since the beauty I’m seeking can’t be made here, in this world. On the side note, please don’t look down on “beauty” and use that word to call any girl you see”

“I just join this since this will help me avoid many classes and I still have bonus score to graduate. You guy can do all the work if you like, I don’t mind being a parasite”

“The guy who interview tell me I can have chance to experience newest technology and even modify those expensive device as I like so I joined”

The owners of above comments are Knightly, Bardell and Schieder in turn. These three guy’s age is around Light’s and Filline’s age. Each of them have their own interest and the group was more like a method for them to achieve their goal. Knightly is a “beauty freak”. Bardell is a “cutting-corner freak” and Schieder is an “Automaton freak”. This was fine with Light since he never believed in cavalierly ideas. Light believed in human’s greed and needs actually.

“I thought this will be fun so I joined it. Was I wrong?” a petite girl who look like she was kidnap here by a bunch of weirdo talked to herself in the corner of the room

Kanon is a Mathematic genius who famous from her young ages for her accounting programs and Mathematic theories. She was asked by Almighty University to become their honor student in exchange for a “free graduate certificate”.

“It will be fun, just not yet. You only need to be more patient”

Out of nowhere, Light standing behind Kanon, who already standing in the corner of the room.

“When did you sneak behind my back? It’s creepy, big brother!” Kanon said

“What did you say again? Can you say it one more?” Light suddenly gripped Kanon’s shoulders

“Ehh! Did I say something wrong? I’m sorry, uncle” Half to tear, the petite girl said

“Please call me big brother from now on. I want to make the company’s atmosphere as close as a family as possible” Light said as he suddenly hug Kanon

All this messy and confuse screens were thanks to the suddenly enthusiasm attitude of principle Coragen, who out of nowhere established a huge election for talent students as a startup project.

“E…hem! Did you say you have something to do today?” Filline butted in from the side, dragged Light back to his sense

Turned to Filline’s direction, Light realize there were dozens of eye looking at him with disgusting sights.

“Are you sexual harassing your female employee in the first day? I can’t believe it!”

“I’m fine with being harassment as long as you pay to silence me”

The hot-blood gamer Kay and the money-obsessed Aisha gave their comments

“Maybe it was a welcome hug. We shouldn’t see it distortedly like that” Long tried to smooth things over

“It was a beautiful sight when the predator catches its prey, wasn’t it?” Knightly commented, adding more fuel into the bon fire

“I mistake her for my lost sister (if I have), ok? Filline, the work I had to do has gone so I’m suddenly free” Light said

It was truth Light’s “have to do” thing is gone. Despite the weather forecast said there would be heavy rain, nothing happened even until now. Since the first time successfully assaulted and took away all the money safely, Light did it 5 more times and never got catch. The mouse will get used to the road, they said. However, his targets seem like avoid money transmit in the rainy day in these time and now even rain isn’t come. The rain not only helped reducing any possible witness but also wash away any trace left behind. Hesitate to commit any action in a day without rain; Light’s amount of cash was running low, part of it thanks to his over spending in shopping.

Light had to rent a less spacious place for his company office despite the need of space for their experiments. Since the center districts price or road-faced places is high, Light hired a place located inside a valley at the downtown area. The place Light and his employees staying now is the building he had hired. It was a two stories building that would be much older than anyone in Light’s group. The place look like it was abandoned for years without anyone care. The highest risk Light could see in this kind of place must be thief. There are surely enough idiots in this places who stole millions coins machine to sell as scrap metal for few hundred coins.

“Since you are here, why don’t you tell them what are we doing in a place like this?” Filline said

“Yeah! Since I’m here, let me tell you the reason for your existent here!” Light said, tried to make it sound very important

“I don’t want to wasted money on hiring someone to clean and decorate the place so I call you here to do it with me”

“Let do this, everyone!” Filline cheered

“Ah! Yeah, I think doing cleaning and decorating once in a while is fine. Let do this” Long seemed a little bit down but still follow Filline lead

“This is worse and worse!” Kay complained

“Am I fired if I escape from the screen?” Bardell asked

“Yes! And there will be something bad with your study” Light threated him

“As long as I’m pay then it is fine” Aisha said, not that much unpredictable

“Leave the decoration for me! I will make this place become a flower bed” Knightly said confidently

“A bat cave will be more interesting, don’t you think?” Schieder protested against Knightly idea

“I’m precious your good will but I’m prefer something normal. It will be a nightmare if the land lord find out we modified his building into either a cave or a flower bed” Light answered the two guys, half joking

“Should I calculate how much acreage we need to clean?”

“There is no need. All you need is pick up the brooms I brought over there and help cleaning this place”

The genius Kanon tried to do something unnecessary but found out by Filline before the two of them start the cleaning. Debris was collect and threw away by guys when spider nets and dirt was clear away by the girls. The two story abandoned building was clean and clear in no time.
