MAGIK - PROLOGUE ONE
Author's notes: It might be odd for some readers, but I like a skeleton/framework of the world and system they will be reading fleshed out for my readers ahead of time instead of having multiple chapters filled out with explanations. As a reader myself, I find it increasingly annoying for me to constantly be "in the dark" about almost everything with the excuse that it is still early for our protagonist to know. This prologue will try to provide a skeleton of what the world is, how the system works, and the general setting, but I am completely open to criticism. Of note, this prologue will NOT be mentioning everything and there will still be concepts and ideas that the protagonist will come across throughout his life.
The history of Lythia concerns the development of the planet Lythia as well its sister planets, Arborus and Thrads, from their formation to the present day. Nearly all branches of natural and magikal research have contributed to the understanding of the main events of The Triplets' past, characterized by constant geological change, biological evolution, and magikal innovation.
The Triplets were formed approximately 7.65 billions years ago, almost around the same time as far as we understand, which we postulate is most likely due to the birth of the System in the heart of Solara and the subsequent spread of Magik, the source of life sustained by Solaro's heart, across our planes. Each of the Triplets were named after their significant features.
Lythia, the world of water, 3 continental bodies of varying geological climates surrounded by massive oceans that regulate the flow of magik throughout the lands, giving rise to the largest number of naturally infused dungeons.
Arborus, the world of forests, 7 great forests with 7 Trees of life that regulate their own flow of magik throughout its ecosystem, giving rise to the greatest and most varied wild beasts.

And finally, Thrads, the world of sands, most desolate yet most hardy, with the richest ores and metals known to sentient-kind. Home to some of the most vicious creatures known to sentient-kind.
The Formation eon represents the time before a reliable record of life; as far as we are aware, the planets had gone through a time of acclimation and formation, which from evidence, lasted almost all of the first 7.2 billion years of their current growth. The first signs of life we were able to find come from natural remains almost 400 million years ago, again almost simultaneously produced in all three planets according to peer-reviewed magik dating. Large swarms of magika-based aquatic lifeforms for Lythia, expansive swathes of magika-based fungi in Arborus, and fossilized remains of what is thought to be the first complex life form, dune bugs, in Thrads.
Since then, these various forms of life developed and evolved with eras of arthropods, amphibians, and the rise and reign of non-avian reptiles for almost another 380 million years, when the first sentient races came to be. We still are not aware if our million-age old ancestors were of the same form or function as the races now, but we do have solid evidence that our ancestral primates, dryads, and scoropods, respectively for each of the Triplets, were the first to use tools, hunt, scavenge, build communities, learn and use magik, with the eventual introduction of economy that has now grown to our existing civilizations at the turn of the glacial period approximately 3000 years prior.

Silver, Sand, and Silken Wings
In the opinion of the common storyteller, Sylph did not exist. Frustrated and deceived by her mothers hiding the truth of her parentage, young dragoness Sylph heads out looking for answers along with a childhood friend, a young human alchemist. From the sky high walls of Carthia, through the winding, lively streets of Halfhill, her journey leads her all the way up north to the picturesque nightmare of snow where she hatched. And yet, the answers lie buried in the desert sand on the other side of the continent. In a world of cruel slave traders and a ruthless, self-proclaimed queen, Sylph uncovers the answers she seeks and realizes her grave mistake of ever leaving home. A singular misstep in the hostile city means death, or worse, and the guards are hot on her haunches after blundering her way through the gates. The draft for this work is finished. I am editing the chapters and putting them up. Updates every 14 days because I am tangled up in work.

The Foretold: Sun Child (Complete)
As a sixteen year old commoner, your future is bleak. Worse, your appearance sets you apart from others. Your only achievement so far, is befriending the second son of the Lord of the Keep. He has been your only friend for eleven years, initially partner in mischief and later your hunting companion and confidant. Now your friendship is being torn asunder, he has turned eighteen and is being sent away to become a Judge Knight Aspirant. What is to become of you? Before your friend leaves, there is murder and conspiracy! Magic left the land hundreds of years ago, all you have is your bow and hunting skills, nevertheless you must fight to survive and save another to have any hope of a future! Note: The graphic isn't mine; it is a re-imagining of a few separate images, any objections by original artists let me know. N.B. If you are looking for Sexual Content every chapter, or every second, third or fourth chapter this isn't the story for you - the Sexual Content is required for a plot device, not a way of life and the later chapters reflect that - please stop dropping Low Ratings when you feel I haven't met your idea of "fan service". This is finished as much as a multi book vision can be finished. At 750,000 words give or take and very little readership I can only blame myself. I have learnt a lot, possibly forgotten a lot as well! I will probably return to the Chapters at some point - a touch up here and a touch up there. The second book though will probably remain in my head for a very long time, so yes "cliffs" although I hope the characters and their motivations are developed enough that you can have a good guess at the content of Book Two and tell me so I can confirm or deny! This isn't a LITRPG where classes are developed, great foes are defeated by a hero of immense power. This is a story based within (I hope) a very real and consistent culture, that leaves breadcrumbs for the reader to work out what the heck is happening and why. This is a slow burn story as the MC is stumbling around discovering her new place and role. Author's Note (Apr 2021): I dropped the Fantasy Genre for the Mystery Genre, because while the setting mentions magic, is it about past glories and trying to return to them. Whereas the MC from Chapter One doesn't understand her predicament and the range of mysteries she must solve to survive. If I have this wrong PM me and I will change this back.
