9. We GM can do whatever we want, even changing rules, systems, abilities, or items.
Those were the rules of the Game. The gods or GMs were the ones who created the Game. Their players were dead souls, and one of those players was walking through a steep hill. The birds were singing melodically on the tree branch. Then, they heard the man's foot stepping on the twigs as he moved through the sloop.
He finally managed to get on the edge of the cliff. The man puffed and looked at the sky. It's getting darker.
The man saw an abandoned Castle, surrounded by a thick forest, not far from the cliff. I guess he’s in there. If I want to find the egg I need to fight him.
He dragged out his hood backward, showing his short black hair, brown eyes, and he had an average build for his age.
His eyes saw a path leading to the Castle. The man sighed, “How the fuck, am I going through there?”
He moved his left backhand in front of him, revealing an X mark, and he said, “Menu.”
A status screen colored in light blue appeared in front of him, showing the rules, and players, currently alive in the game. He put his index finger on the screen and swiped to the right.

He tapped on ‘Binocular,’ which appeared in front of him, and he grabbed it. Then, he pressed on [Exit], and the screen disappeared. Gorun looked through the binocular and examined the path for a better view of the surface.
“Yup, can’t pass that without some proper wheels,” he said. Then, Gorun scanned the Castle’s stone walls, the tower, the artistic purply glass ornament on top of the roof.
“What a beautiful Castle, but unfortunately, it got abandoned. Shame,” Gorun's shoulder swayed up and down. He pulled his face from the binocular. Then, something caught his attention in the corner of his eyes.
He moved his binocular towards it, peeked within the binocular, and found a group of soldiers and a man with golden armor. The man with golden armor stood beside a catapult, caught his attention, “Hmm? What’s this?”

“Oh, it’s him. I thought it was another player,” he said. The screen faded as he lowered the binocular. He looked at his mark and said, “Menu.”
The mark shined brightly. Then, another screen appeared. He swiped the screen to [Page 2] and inspected his inventory.
“I only have these cards. Let’s see if the shop has something else,” Gorun said. He swiped through the screen.
[Game Shop]
Reminder: You cannot buy an item or card that is higher than your level.
“Yeah, yeah. I know,” Gorun murmured. His eyes scanned the shop list.
“God damn, everything here is expensive as hell… Fuck those GM,” He cursed. Suddenly, Gorun eyes flinched as a card caught his attention.
A 4 wheel motorbike, with black color all around with red striped on either side, shined brightly on his eyes, “Holy Crap! Level 2 and can be used on all rough surfaces. The price….”
“It’s fucking expensive for a Level 2! Those GMs must be crazy to value them like this,” Gorun frowned. He glanced at the path again.
“I guess I’ve to buy it if I want to get to the castle,” He touched on the [Buy] button.
Transaction Complete
You have used 1200 GP to buy this card. Thank you for purchasing.
“Huh? But the price is 600, why did it take 600 more?” Gorun spoke loudly. He noticed on the top corner of the screen was a sale announcement.
Sale Announcement
For 24-hour, all purchased will be double. Thank you for using [Game Shop]
“What?” He yelled loudly, “Ahhhhhhhhh, fuck you stupid GMs!”
He repeatedly stepped on the ground while cursing the GMs. After some inhaled and exhaled routine, Gorun finally relaxed and took three cards from the inventory before exiting the menu.
“This is the only cards I can use right now,” he said.
Gorun heard a loud noise. It sounded like a stone had clashed together. Using his binocular, he saw Captain Riley and his men outside the Castle’s walls.
Captain Riley coughed before looking at the crack on the wall. He shifted his attention to the man controlling the catapult, “Keep shooting on the Castle's wall.”
“Yes, Captain,” He pulled the lever, and a big ball flew into the air, smashed into the Castle’s walls. The crack on the wall grew bigger.
“The hell? If they keep attacking, he will wake up.”
As Gorun finished, an explosion on the Castle's roof caught his eyes, and black smoke appeared. He moved his binocular to it and saw two red-skin hands clenched his claws on the edge of the roof. He pulled himself to the surface, revealing his red skin appearance.
“Who dares to awaken me?” The Dragon said. He spread his massive wing and flew upwards. Then, he landed on top of the Castle tower.
“See!” Gorun groaned. The Dragon scanned his surrounding.
"So, you're the one that woke me." He let out a fireball towards Captain Riley.
"Captain, We've got to go!" His men called, but Captain Riley didn't move, and he stood like a helpless sheep. He stared at the fireball inched towards him.
"Captain!" His men cried his name. The fireball struck Captain Riley, engulfing him.
“Wow, pitiful. Anyways, he’s just an NPC,” Gorun spoke nonchalantly
Horrified, Captain Riley’s men tried to run away, but the Dragon blew another fireball in their direction, killing them.

Thank you for making the Dragon busy, Captain Riley's men. I may not remember your sacrifices. He placed a card on his X mark.
A bright pale light shined on the ground, and a Motorbike slowly emerged. He pulled himself onto it and ride towards the Castle.
The Dragon saw him. Another o-. Wait! He's one of those people! He fired a fireball towards Gorun.
“Oh shit!” Gorun steered the bike away from the fireball, “Phew. that almost hit me.”
“You think I’m done? How about this!” The Dragon fired several fireballs towards him.
“Ahhhh, fuck!” Gorun dodged the incoming fireballs, and as for the last one, he repelled it towards the Dragon using his cooking pan.
“Huh?” The fireball hit him, and a cloud of black smoke appeared.
The Dragon used his wing to sweep the black smoke away. After that, he scanned the ground. He's missing...
He chuckled. Stupid! If you think you can outrun from my sharp nose.
The Dragon scanned his surrounding using his sharp nose. So, there you are! He fired a massive fireball towards a boulder, and it exploded, creating a small crater.
“Hahaha… Not so tough are you,” The Dragon laughed. He felt victorious as he showed his chest.
Then, out of nowhere, a purple round portal opened on his rear not far from him. His nose caught Gorun's sweaty scent as he exited.
“Impossible!” The Dragon said.
“Nothing is impossible if you know what you’re doing,” Gorun responded with a satire.
The Dragon bit his teeth. Then, fired three balls of lightning mixed with flame at Gorun.
“Shit! They added that? That’s fucking OP!” He cursed and added, “Fuck you, GM!
Quickly, he placed the premonition card on his left backhand. His eyes shined in bright blue color.
On the corner of his eye, a 20-second timer appeared. I only have this much time! Fuck! He sighed. Oh well, I guess I’ve to make use of what I’ve now.
His blue eyes lightened up and showed his body got hit by the first fireball. The vision faded, and Gorun glided his body to the right. The fireball flew past him, and it exploded behind him.
The shockwave sent Gorun to spiral out of control. He used his cloak and controlled his descend. 12 seconds left on the timer as he glanced at it.
His eyes began to light up again, and it showed the fireball hit his left foot, resulting in him falling to the ground head first. Oh, that's going to hurt a lot.
Instantly, Gorun moved his left foot away as the fireball barely hit it. Then, at some distance, the fireball exploded. Fuck, those are some tingling heat.
Gorun took a glance at the timer. 7 seconds.
Then, he saw a fireball became massive like a hill, engulfing him, and he'd feel the tingling flames as it burns through his flesh. The vision faded, and Gorun said, “I guess it's time to use that.”
He put his left backhand faced the fireball. The mark on his hand shined brightly, "Ability: Null, X Copy."
The attack hit his body and engulfed him in a red hot flame. The sensation he felt was similar to the ones he saw in the vision.
“Hahaha…. How do you like that, puny human? Hahaha…,” The Dragon mocked Gorun.
“Peek ka boo…. I’m still fucking alive!” Goran screamed as he emerged from the flames.
“What? How?” The Dragon puzzled.
“I nullified your attack before it hit me,” The mark on his hand shined and a card flew to his right hand. He looked at it.
Good thing it’s level 2. Gorun said, “and I copy it when it hits me.”
“No!” The Dragon refuted.
“Well, yes, sorry to disappointing you,” Gorun continued, “Now, face your flame.”
Gorun positioned the card on his mark and he blew it towards the Dragon.
“You dare to use my own attack against me!” The Dragon felt like Gorun was mocking him. And so he let out a stream of hot flames towards Gorun's fireball.
Gorun smiled, “ Did you forget something?”
“Huh?” The Dragon raised his brows.
“It’s the same attack that you engulfed me with.”
Gorun’s attack became massive. The Dragon stretched his mouth and made his flames bigger. Their attack clashed, and a bright explosion blinded them.
The Dragon opened his eyes, “Huh? Where’s he?”
Gorun appeared from his left side and smacked a cooking pan on his face. The Dragon fell to the ground, under the tower. Gorun landed on the tower's roof. Then, a notification popped out.

The Dragon flew up to the air and landed in front of him. Gorun looked at him and held his hand up.
“Wait! We can stop fighting now. I already have what I want.”
“Huh? What? Why? Aren’t you going to kill me?” The Dragon asked.
“Kill you? No! Why would I kill you?” Gorun puzzled.
“W-Wait, I thought you people are going to kill me and get the sword?”
“What? No! My quest is just hitting you on the face. Plus, even if I get the sword, I can’t even use it because of this stupid system. Where did you get that information?”
“Wait, What system? They didn't tell me about a system.”
“Huh?” Gorun showed a puzzled expression. He paused and realized what he meant.
“Oh, now I get it,” he sighed before continuing, “Those people and I, we were sent by two different gods. Mines are those stupid GM and those people you mention, they... I don't have a clue about them, try asking when they come 'visit' you."
“Anyway, I’ll be on my way,” Gorun said.
“You aren’t going to help those humans out there?”
They both looked in the direction of a group of human soldiers, marching their way towards the castle.
"Nope, I've other problems to solve. Plus, they are war-mongrel humans. Which I hate the most. If I got reincarnated as a demon lord or a dragon, I may kill them."
“You….” The Dragon speechless.
“Apathetic?” Gorun said.
“Yes… I guess,” The Dragon said.
The Dragon looked at the soldier before turning his attention to Gorun, “Could you help me out?”
“Huh? I-,” Before Gorun could say anything. He received a quest notification. Gorun placed his hand on his face, “Not again.”

Gorun sighed, clicked [Accept] button, and turned to face the Dragon, “Fine, I’ll help.”
He took out the Shadow Army card and read its information. Gorun felt dejected as he summarized the content. Shadow Army Card summoned an army of shadows for 2 minutes. Fuck, it only lasted that long.
“Hey, you alright?” The Dragon asked.
“Yeah, yeah!” He positions the Shadow Army Card on his mark. The mark shined, and an army of shadow with black armor emerge from the ground.
“Footsoldiers and Archers only!” Gorun grumbled. I feel like I’d been scammed.
“Amazing,” The Dragon sounded astonished.
“No, it’s not, but if you say it’s amazing, then it’s amazing.”
The Dragon ignored his remarks and said, “Are you ready?”
“Yeah…,” Gorun sounded relaxed and annoyed.
The Dragon flew up in the air and exhaled several fireballs at the human army, burning them to death.
“Alright, you loser! Go kill those humans bastard,” Gorun ordered.
The Shadow Footsoldiers ran towards the human army and overwhelmed them with their numbers. The human soldiers tried to stab them with their swords, but their swords passed through their shadows like the wind.
The Shadow Footsoldiers, unaffected by the humans' swords, stabbed their blades at their chest. Feeling scared, a few soldiers tried to run away into the hill, only to be struck by an arrow in the chest from the Shadow Archers.
“Hey! Dragon,” Gorun yelled.
“What?” The Dragon said.
“Can you conjure a large fireball at them?”
“I can, but how about your Shadow Soldiers?”
“Don’t worry about them. Their time almost run out.”
“Okay,” The Dragon inhale a huge volume of air, mixed them with flames and lightning before exhaling it towards the battlefield.
The Shadow Army disappeared, the human soldiers looked towards the bright light coming towards them and realized what it meant. A soldier fell to his knee and said, “Mom… I’m sorry.”
As soon as he said, the massive fireball engulfed the battlefield and made a giant mushroom cloud that could be seen from afar.

“Thank you for helping me, I’ll be forever in your debt,” The Dragon said.
“Your welcome,” Gorus nodded. Then, he took out the Finder’s Keeper Card from his inventory and read the ability. So, if I use this card to find the egg. It can only show the location for 5 seconds…. Fuck.
He placed the card on his mark hand, “Now, where are you at, egg.”
His eyes shined, a digital map popped out in front of him, showing the location of the egg.
“There you are.” He smiled. Hastily, Gorun opened his inventory, took out a map, and marked the location. The digital map vanished. Stupid system. At least, I know where the egg is, and it’s only 10 days from here.
“Hey, Dragon,” Golus said.
“Yes?” The Dragon raised his right eyebrow.
“How many days will it take for a dragon to fly from here to Vokura?”
“Hmm? Forget about days, it will only take 2 to 3 hours tops.”
“Great, thanks…,” Gorun said. Good, it will save me some time.
He took out the Dragon Shapeshiting Card and read its ability information. Then, Gorun tightened his grip on the card. 10 minutes….. only… if I got my hands on the egg, I’ll make sure my wish is to make them suffer, as we did.
An envelope appeared in front of him. Gorun tapped on it, and read the content. Then, his facial expression turned to a blank stare.
“They…. They…. They…. Added one more day to my ability cooldown just because I insulted them!” Gorun screamed as both of his hands were place on his face, while looking at the sky.
After some quick few deep inhale and exhale. Gorun finally calmed down and turned his attention to the Dragon.
“I’ll be on my way, Dragon. Take care of yourself and be careful with those people. They’re very strong when they fight together.” Gorun advised him. The Dragon nodded as a sign of appreciation.
Gorun placed the card on his left backhand, the mark shined and he transformed into a Dragon. He spread his wings apart and flew towards the direction of the egg.
Unknown to him, a man dressed in a black cloak, his face was covered by a mask saw him flew, “Looks like the boy knows where the egg is… hehehe….”
He took out a card, position it on his left backhand, the J mark shined, and he transformed into a red bird. The man spread his winged feathers, lifted himself, and flew behind Gorun.
