《A Path Of Rage》Prologue Ch.10 Happy Days

Dimian stood there as he embraced his wife, it took more than a second before he could fully comprehend Che words, upon realizing what she meant Dimian’s face that was once tired and worn was completely replaced by excitement his face was completely reborn with new energy and vigor.
“YES!”
Dimian shouted, his voice shook the small house, all windows formed cracks, Dimian picked up his wife and threw her into the air in celebration, both their eyes showed great joy that they were gonna have their first child, after several minutes of celebrating, Che giggled at his child like celebration, several minutes passed before the celebration ceased, he carried Che like a princes, and rushed into the house leaving everything outside, he quickly rushed into the kitchen then set her down gently, pulling a chair out for her, she bowed before sitting down.
Dimian moved the other chair, so he could sit right next to his wife, he looked like a puppy as he looked at his wife.
They spent the whole night talking, Che told Dimian how this entire week she had been focusing on trying to attract a soul to her, and this morning a soul came, this soul was weak and full of cracks, it was almost completely turned into darkness, but this soul was resisting the darknessess spread, the light that remand in the sol would pulse into a blinding light causing the darkness to retreat, but like day and night the light would fade and become dim, causing the darkness to spread once more, this was a slow process but the soul was on the losing side, she had no idea how long the soul would last at this rate, but looking at its current state this soul was over a million years old, but this soul was not whole and was split into 2 equal portions, one was a bright white while the other was a crimson red.
This was a relatively rare soul. This one soul was made from two souls, it was also possible that the soul had been split in half creating a new soul, but because these souls was surrounded by darkness they were unable to split, in these two souls current state either they would absorb each other, or they would stay as they are becoming a dual soul.

The two would need to send a constant flow of elemental energy to support the soul, so it could continue to resist the darkness, at least until the child's birth, once the child is born, then it will be able to expel the darkness, but it whatever state the soul is in be it one or a soul containing two this can not be changed after birth, if it was it could lead to the child's death, or the kid being mentally stupid.
They brought up multiple topics such as bandits sneaking into the town and setting fires to the town, while Dimian told the story of how the bandits attacked the town early today, he told her everything even him reaching the Quantum realm.
“The Quantum Realm Impossible, no one has found a way to reach it in over 500 years.”
Che gasped as her eyes grew wide.
“It was just luck that I was able to reach it, my soul had long since been destroyed before I reached the Qutoms realm but with the will power I had I was able to create a new soul will the explosion was happening meaning I did not lose much, though the soul I have now is highly unstable, and need a lot of nurturing and energy to stay stable.”
Che looked at him her eyes even wider than before.
“so does this mean that you will be experiencing soul degradation.?”
“No unlike soul degradation where my soul will slowly fade, this is more that my soul is teleporting into random locations in my body, and I have to use some type of energy to form a barrier so my soul does not teleport outside of my body, so it's more of soul disconnect syndrome.”
“If its Soul disconnect syndrome than we would need to retrieve a ebony flower to tie your soul to your body, or we can try to soul gate to enclose your soul in your body.”
Dimian shook his head, pity and sorrow filled his eyes.
“They would never be able to hold my soul back, if we were to use them they would be ripped from what anchors they stood on before being absorbed into my soul.”
“What?! I've never heard anything like this before, how able a tree of life root, or Under a thousand seas carm.?”

“The tree of life root would last a week before it would be ripped apart, will the thousand seas carm, would be drain in less than a day.”
Cold sweat began, to pore down her head.
“The Eternal Phoenix”
“Even I do not if The Eternal Phoenix would work, but it doesn't matter the Eternal Phoenix has long left our word to voyage into the sea of star.”
Silence spread through the room it stood there for almost a full minute, Che’s eyes were watering as she looked at her husband.
“H, how long do you have.”
Che asked barely being able to hold back her tears.
At the minimum 2 years at max 5, as time goes on my soul will become even more unstable until no matter what I do it will escape my body, then someday it will either enter a new body and will become stable, though it will never revert to before it destruction, or my soul will fade being unable to be reborn.
Che could no longer hold back her tear, and hugged Dimian before burying her face into his chest.
“Che, yes it is true that I will be gone, but the fear that I once had when coming home is gone, you will have someone to protect you and remind you of me.”
She looked up at him her eyes where read as tears fell down them like a stream.
“I want to have you be there to be with me as we watch our child grow, for us to grow old together and die one day together, how will you protect me if your not here.”
Che cried out, Dimian shirt was growing wet as her tears slowly drenched his shirt, one hand placed itself under her eye, wiping her tears away with his thumb.
“I wish I could watch our child grow, I wish I could be with you for the rest of my life, I wish I could protect you and our child but I am unable to, I wish I could trade my limbs, my heart or even my soul so I could spend the rest of this life with you, but sadly these wishes will never come true.”
There was nothing more that could be said Che cried in his arms as the sun rose, for half the morning Dimian held Che in his arms, her crying slowly faded, before she fell asleep in his arms, he carried her to their bed gently trying not to wake her than lied himself next to closing his eyes.
Over the next couple months, they provided a steady stream of Elemental Energy to the soul, and spent as much time with each other as possible, not wasting a moment with the limited time they had left, Dimian finally took Oldmans Wangs up on his offer for a drink.
While Che’s belly expanded over the next several months, when she was 8 months into her pregnancies her body convulsed into pain, it took 30 seconds before this pain subsided.
“Our child absorbed Pain Element.”
Che said with a tint of fear, upon hearing this information they observed the soul, to find that the darkness had spread once more, it once almost completely absorbed the soul, but after giving the soul with enough elemental energy, it was able push the darkness back into non existence, bu at this moment the darkness had returned almost taking the soul completely over, seeing this the two shuddered as they found the soul was almost destroyed, but as quickly as the darkness came it was over taken by the soul one more, from that day on Che absorbed the pain element that got too close to her stomach, while Dimian would clear the house of all Pain Element, though this was not a perfect method of removing Elemental Energy, there would still be some that would reach the soul, but the soul seemed to be shying away from absorbing The Pain Element, but they would not take any chances, more details they learned while taking care of the weak soul was that the white soul was active soul, while the red soul was dormant, this was a bit surprising but it didn't indicate anything else was wrong.
And so the day came Che water broke while she was sitting in Dimian’s arms, to two looked at each other both smiling there face shone brightly.
“It’s time.”

Candor: The Forgotten House
*** Please read note below *** As a 16-year-old mage from a powerful family, Jayce Candor had known from a young age what his future would hold. As the fourth son in his family the possibility of him becoming the heir to the household was very small. But, with his talent as a mage, his potential accomplishments in the military could lead to titles of nobility and political power. However, on what would otherwise be an unremarkable night, everything he had ever known, the only people he ever cared for, and all of the plans for his future were destroyed. House Candor, one of the six great houses that helped build the Eldoran Empire had been erased from history. By imperial decree, all those bearing the name Candor were hunted down and executed as traitors of the Empire. With no home, no family, and only death waiting for him, Jayce decided to escape north to the uncharted Northern Territories to begin a new life. Forced into situations he was never prepared for and trying to cope with his past, Jayce tries to find safety in a place spoken about only in legends. There for the first time, he will make true friends and find people he will come to see as family. He will encounter strong enemies, build powerful alliances, and become a person his ancestors would be proud of. But surrounded by creatures he thought only existed in tales and pressed by the Empire’s constant expansion, Jayce’s safety may be only an illusion. To survive a world fraught with danger Jayce will need to grow stronger with each new experience and rebuild his once forgotten house. ********************************************************************** Note: The story starts slow. Although there is more action as the story progresses, there is a fair amount of introspection and character introduction in the first 30 chapters. Jayce is the main character, however, other characters play a large role and the story is seen through multiple POV's. This is a draft, it is not a finished work. This is not a story that focuses on an OP MC who beats up on weaklings. At times there can be a fair amount of internal monologue. Some of that may be edited out when I rewrite the story. I decided to keep it in the draft because I think it is better to have too much material rather than too little when I edit. Constructive criticism is appreciated as it helps in the editing and rewriting process. Check out my other story Shattered Mind here
