Chapter 5 The Root Tower
Ice Fairy's Pov
In front of the root tower:
Suddenly the crazy geezer begins to breathe really heavily.
I turn around and look scared at the old geezer...
(I, Ice Fairy)
"Are you alright? Is everything Okay?"
(Crazy geezer)
"Yeah, *breath* what are you talking about? *silent moan*"
His breathing and moaning becomes louder the closer he comes to the door. The little one with the moustache appears to be suffering.
(I, Ice Fairy)
"You don't look good. It appears that there is something inside the building. Wait here! I will go and take a look."
(Crazy geezer)
"Nonsense,*breath* There is nothing strange about Me.*breath* I feel *breath* completely fine *silent moan*"
The old geezer takes a step back. Most likely he feels dizzy from hyperventilating.
(I, Ice Fairy)
"Look you can't even hold your balance. Come sit down on the stairs and wait until I come back."
I help him to sit on the stairs.
(Crazy geezer)
"Maybe *little moan* you are right. *breath*"
I enter the tower. There are spiral stairs which look like a double helix in the middle of the room. In the helix is an elevator. It's the same as I have seen in front of the houses outside.
At the sides are 2 doors.
I begin to investigate the first room. A wooden console stands in the middle of it, showing towards the entrance. On the opposite side there are 4 wooden cylinders. Every chamber contains a person. Every fairy has a number from 1 to 4. Behind the sarcophagi tubes lead into the floor.
I look on the console.
A screen shows the different stimulated brain areas.
Hm, I wonder what happens, if I do this.
I press my finger on a randomly chosen brain region of hibernating fairy No. 1. Suddenly the first cylinder begins laughing loudly.
Damn! Damn! Damn! What have I done? The cylinder begins knocking, while laughing.
Please go back to sleep! Please go back to sleep! I randomly press buttons on the console.
The knocking becomes lighter and then stops. The laughter suffocates in a gurgling sound. After a few seconds it's quiet.

I wait a minute. Is he back asleep? Or is he..... I go closer to the chamber and look inside through a little window at the front.
A male fairy lies inside. The eyes are turned upside down, so you can only see the white in them. White foam is in front of his mouth. A mad smile decorates his lips.
Okay this doesn't look like sleeping.
He can't be.....This would mean, I am a...... No! He is in a deep meditative state for sure. Yes, this must be it! Only the ones who have fully mastered their ice abilities can go this deep into trance.
This is no dignified face for a master. I try opening the cylinder. It reveals its content without any effort. The man inside would be beautiful when there wouldn't be his mad expression. I try normalizing his features with force but he is frozen hard. He should look like a sleeping person.
I try changing his face with Ice magic. Oh, it works.
I produce a tissue. Don't ask me where I stored it in this tight dress. A woman should always be prepared, even when she hasn't her purse with her.
Puh! He looks normal again....I mean this is what a dignified master of the ice art should look like during meditation!
I close the door and look into the next window. A girl is lying in there. She looks perfect.
Her appearance is more arrogant than any fairy I have ever seen. Maybe the queen looked more full of herself than her but I took care of her.
The fairy resembles Pamela Anderson when she was young. She has big breasts, a perfect, vase formed, curved body and a face which spits, in your own:
Look how perfect I am. You won't ever look like me.
The only difference to original Miss Anderson is her red hair and her white perfect skin. (Damn gingers!)
I hated her at first sight. Hm, maybe I'll show her who is frozen and who is not later.
I look into the next cylinder and it nearly robs my breath.

A man with skin white like snow,
lips red like blood
and hair brown like ebony sleeps in there.
He was through and through perfect. It was love, real love, at first sight. He wasn't like all the others and he looked like he wanted only to be kissed awake.
I opened his chamber. I want him to steal my first kiss. He lies without any movement there. Cables are all over his body. My face hovers over his.
Suddenly I hear a loud scream. I know I can't end what I have begun.
I make a regretful expression and kiss my dream prince fast onto his cold, white cheek. I close the hibernation chamber and throw a last glance at him.
You have to wait a little longer until I kiss you awake, my love.
I run towards the noise and see the crazy geezer in the other room.
In the middle of it is a blanket and under the blanket lays his staff and a crystal ball beside it.
You have to be kidding. For this soap opera I had to give up on my first real kiss?
(Crazy geezer)
"Wife! What are you doing under the blanket with that ball!?"
The old man runs to his staff and picks it up.
(Wife)
"What are you talking about?! And don't cry at me! I am not deaf."
He hits himself with the wood
(Crazy geezer)
"But...but....but.....
(Wife)
"Don't 'but' me mister! Why are you here so early? I thought you would come back in at least half an hour."
(Crazy geezer)
"But...but...but"
The old man rolls his eyes around.
(Wife)
"Wilson was predicting my future by looking at my annual rings."
(Intentional deep, smoky voice from the old geezer)
"Yeah bro, her annual rings are the best."
The old geezer looks wildly at the crystal ball.
(Wife, hissing)
"Wilson, be quiet! I'll handle it."
(Wilson)
"Sis, chill. Bro knows that my rule number one is: Bros before whoes."
(Wife, commanding)
"Wilson!"
(Crazy geezer)
"But... I thought... he was only your astrologer. Why should he know anything about your annual rings?"
I(=Ice fairy) shake my head: An astrologer in a cave.... How can a man's brain be scrambled so much?
(Wife)
"Don't ask such stupid questions! He only wanted to be more precise with his prediction. So he had to look under my bark!
(Wilson)
"Yeah Bro, barks and clothes limit the vibes of the planets to interact at the right spots. Have you ever seen me putting on some clothes? Bro."
(Crazy geezer)
"I guess not... but what about the blanket?"
(Wife)
"Do you really think a Lady can shave parts of her bark without covering herself when there are men in the next room? Think a bit!"
(Wilson)
“Yeah, only I should see her bare wood.”
(Wife)
“Wilson! Can’t you stop your mouth!”
The old man appears to have a conflict with himself. He looks at the ball and at his staff by turns.
Tears begin to cover his cheeks.
(Crazy geezer)
“Wife, are you saying the truth?”
The Crazy geezer’s expression changes into a tortured one, when he answered with his wife’s voice.
(Wife, tortured)
“Crazy geezer, I have to talk to you! But let’s not do this in front of the little one.”
He looks at me.
He turns his gaze to the staff.
(Crazy geezer)
“I knew it. He wasn’t just predicting the future!”
(Wilson)
“Bro chill! Let’s talk about it.”
But the old geezer said these words while running to the elevator. A flow of tears covers his face. He runs without turning around.
He steps on the round disk in the entry room and disappears.
The staff fell on the ground and remained beside the crystal ball.
Oh poor little guy! How could his own wife be so cruel? It isn't fair he made the children they both loved and he read every wish from her eyes. He really loved her.
I glare at the staff.
Wait a minute:
I glare at a staff.
Damn him! He nearly convinced me that this staff has feelings. On top of that he left me alone in this big cave!
