"oh, now you wanna listen" the man chuckled.
The man looked like he was in the twilight of his life with long Gray hair covering his forhead down to his eyes and a long shrubby beard stretching from his face to the ground. The mans body was fully covered with a saggy robe that looked way too big to be on his body. Watching the kid across from him filled with so much blood Lust the man sighed.
How messed up this kingdom is to drive a young kid like this to madness
"You said you can escape right, please take me with you" Edgar begged.
"As long as you dont annoy me, I dont mind taking you out with me, but after were out we go seperate ways, I dont need to carry around a burden with me understood?" the man said.
"Thats all I want. Thank you" Edgar said filled with emotion.
"Don't thank me yet only when we're out can you then say thank you" the man advised.
"So you wanna share what happen to you, do fill you with so much bloodlust?" the man asked.
"No thanks" Edgar denied.
"I can see that you want revenge the moment you get out of here, but I want you to think about the reality of your situation,
the fact that your still a child who hasn't even an iota of energy in your body" the man emphasized.
"You can tell how much energy I have in my body from all the way over there?" Edgar questioned with shock.
"Those following a Path tend to leak their auras without noticing and you young man have none. By the way what is your name kid?" the man asked.
"Edgar. what is your sir?" Edgar Asked back.
"My name is George young Edgar" the man answered with a smile.
"Edgar how do you feel about the state of this kingdom?" George asked curiously.

"I'ts rotten to the core" Edgar claimed with conviction.
'What makes you say that?" George asked.
"The fact that killing children is taken as a norm here" Edgar explained.
"What would be your ideal kingdom, Edgar?" George once again asked.
"A power thats is reminicent of the Repubic" Edgar answered with Certainty.
"The Republic of Pell?" George questioned.
"Yes Sir" Edgar nodded.
"hmmm do you wish to visit this republic Edgar" George asked.
"That was the plan but now all I want is to kill that Commander" Edgar answered with fury.
"Are you perhaps talking about the Gate Commander Joseph Clad" George asked.
"YES!" Edgar answered while grinding his teeth.
"That will be a tough task to accomplish with your abilities" George Notified.
"He is just a man and all men are killable" Edgar answered unwavering.
The two prisoners chatted for a while as they got to know each other better. Before Edgar even noticed he was sharing things that he only ever shared with Maynard. The recent lost of the last person he ever knew forced him to have a need to connect with someone new to stop the feeling of loneliness that was creeping up inside him. The overwhelming fury that filled him manage to calmed down as he conversed with the old man. They talked through the night until eventually Edgar from all the stress build up over the recent events eventually passed out. The man watched Edgar sleep peacefully while lamenting the indelible scar that has been left on the poor child that would continue to haunt him as he grew.
"I have to leave this place soon, the horde is getting closer" George mummured to himself.
The horde the man was talking about was the beast that was displaced by the founding of the republic of Pell in the west which drove them to the East towards the Six Kingdoms lands. Little by little the beast attacked the borders of the Kingdoms and managed to enroach upon the kingdoms lands. But due to the scale of the beast hordes it needed at least an Holy Knight or Grand Sage practitioner to be able to quell the tides. Only the cities of high ranking officals in the Imperial Court were prioritized when multiple beast hordes took place, thus leaving the rest of the cities to depend on their own forces to beat back the hordes until reinforcements can be send. The man manage to overheard the guards talking about the impending attack of a small sized beast horde which would be able to deal considerable damage to the small city of Ars.

The man shared his plan of escape, which was very simple to say the least. It only consisted of two actions fake it and take it. He would pretend to have a panick attack while Edgar yelled for the guards and when they open his cell to check if hes alright he would flail his arm around pretending to be having a panick attack and swipe the guards keys. Then later during the night when the guards dozed off as they usually do, he would open his cell followed by Edgars then sneak into the first floor where they had to make a run for it from the guards on that floor.
The inside of the prison was completly dark and if not for the torches that hung at each end of the floors Four corridors that spread out in each direction with the stair case being situated in the center of the corridors, It would have been completly pitch black. George managed to determine a way to keep time by eavesdropping on the guards. The Guards were put into three shifts of Day, Noon, and Night, with two years of time in the prison George manage to figure out which Guard were responsible for each shift.
"Are you sure this will work" Edgar questioned with uncertainty.
"Of course, I have done it many time before" George assured.
"How long have you been here George" Edgar asked.
"Just two years" George answered nonchalantly.
"J-Just two years?" Edgar questioned with shock.
"I have been in a worst place than this, so this place is actually not that bad" George announced.
The two waited until the guard for the night shift finally came in to switch with the guard for the noon shift. They waited till the noon shift guard left then they commenced the plan.
"GUARD! GUARD!" Edgar yelled out.
"What is it?" The guard approached Edgar cell and asked.
"The old man is having a seizure" Edgar panicked pointing towards the cell across from his. Inside George was gurgling his own saliva and twitching convulsively. The Guard panicked and opened his cell to check his condition but was repeatedly hit by Georges convulsing arms that always seemed to go for his face. Frustrated the guard decided to give george a hard kick to the stomach that managed to stop Georges seizure as he entered a fetal position. Cursing the guard left his cell not noticing that his one of his key chains was missing from his belt. As they waited for the guard to doze off another guard abruptly came down the stairs to call for him.
"We need you at the Gate" the new guard said.
"Whats happening?" asked the 2nd floor guard.
"Orders from the commander" the new guard said.
"Understood" the 2nd floor guard complied.
As the guards promptly left, George not missing the new opportunity instantly took out the Key chain he stole and unlocked his cell followed by Edgars. The two queitly snuck by the other cells making sure not to raise any commotion of their escape. They made their way up the stairs and found no guards in sight as they made it out into the open air.
