《Don't Put All Of Your Short Stories In One Basket》Lost Yet Again 2

This all felt legitimate. One of my concerns while taking this nap was that I would dream of unwanted stuff and that the whole journey would become unbearable. Yet, it had to be done cause there’s no way I’d pass my time waiting till we land.
This is all too real. I didn’t know till now what that absurd dream I just had this morning meant and honestly I wasn’t expecting to be a prophet. Just the idea that something that just occurred, I had dreamt about, is creepy. And why exactly a tornado? The flight could’ve been stopped by literally anything else, what are the odds of this happening?
I woke up finding myself in the shore of what seemed an island. My first reaction was that I was still dreaming, but that soon vanished cause I found it to be too true to be fake.
Cherry on top, it was only the three of us: me, Lucas and Anna. I have no idea whatsoever where the rest got dispersed or if they even are alive at all, since the airplane is missing as well.
Daniel quickly went and tried waking up Lucas and Anna, to see if they were in good condition. To his surprise, neither of them had any scratches either.
“What is going on?” cried Lucas. “The last thing I remember is that tornado and me closing my eyes. And now you waking me up. Where even are we?”
“Dan, where’s the rest?” said Anna.
“I don’t know. I don’t know anything.” replied Dan. “I just woke up, same as you two. I’m lost as well.
Actually, I was counting on you guys to tell me what happened while I was asleep.”
“Nothing much, we were watching a movie when we suddenly got notified that a tornado was approaching and that we had to stay calm. Then I immediately woke you and the rest is history.” responded Lucas.

“That’s peculiar.” said Dan.
“We have to find out if there’s anyone else in here.” intervened Anna and headed towards the forest.
Daniel quickly grabbed her and started explaining that that would be the dumbest thing to do right now since they didn’t know what they were getting themselves into.
“Okay, listen up.” said Daniel. “The number one thing we have to do right now is to try and survive till a ship comes this way and finds us.
But here’s the thing. Ships vary from how near they get to an island, they can watch from afar or actually get closer. And here’s the tricky part, if they stay afar there’s no way for them to spot us so we need something to signal them. On top of that we need something to stay warm during the nights, so building a fire is the most ideal thing to do.”
“You sure know a lot about this.” interfered Lucas.
“Yeah, I got lost once when I was a kid.” responded Daniel in all seriousness.
Anna and Lucas were staring at him.
“It’s a joke you dummies, it’s just common sense.” Dan broke up the silence. “Anyways, Anna might be right, there may be other passengers here. However, we can’t find that out yet since we are harmless. Let’s provide the essentials we need to survive first then we can look onto further exploring.”
Things were actually going smooth. They started getting stuff all around the place, making sure the didn’t overstep the boundaries. It wasn’t risky at all in their heads and they began to get a like at it.
Anna was setting a campfire with the branches Lucas provided. She had apparently watched this guide somewhere and was replicating it. Me and Lucas on the other hand were just gathering stuff all around. Food, fruits, wood and whatnot.

“But how competent is Anna, tho?” said Dan.
“Just ask her out already, jeez.” replied Lucas.
“Yeah, right. Whilst we are in the middle of nowhere and with perhaps no chance of getting back.” responded Dan.
“Well, yes!? Isn’t that the best case scenario?” said Lucas. “And what do you mean by ‘no chance of getting back’? I don’t really wanna be stuck in here.”
“Relax, I was just making it more dramatic.” continued Dan. “But I really think that I should make a move on her now that we are all alone.”
“That sounded creepy mister perv.”
“Shut up and proceed on your gathering.”
They both had giggled and continued looking for goods.
Evening soon arrived and they were all grouped around the campfire eating what looked like dinner, but sadly just consisted on some fruits and berries. It was starting to get cold but they wrapped themselves in some giant leafs they found and to their content they were pretty cozy. Everything seemed to be going well.
“What a crazy day this was.” said Lucas. “One way or another we got our summer camp.”
They all laughed and the mood was being set.
“Considering how well we managed our first day in here, “ continued Anna. “I’m pretty positive we are gonna make it out.”
They both nodded.
“Guys.” said Dan. “Since we’ll be here for a while or God knows how much, I was thinking that we should get to know each other better.
So I’ll start first.”
They all agreed to that.
“Remember before when I said I had been in a similar situation? Well, I wasn’t lying. When I was younger I actually got lost in an island.”

Cheep!?
Charles Monroe survived the disappearance of his parents, did his best to hold things together for himself and his sister. He survived when she, too, vanished, leaving behind nothing but a cryptic note. He was devastated, but he kept moving forward as best he could. Cancer didn’t put him down, and after suffering through several rounds of chemotherapy, Charles Monroe thought that things might finally be looking up. That is, until a virulent strain of ebola swept through the city. With his immune system strained as it is, the odds don’t look good for Charles. Now, on the bridge between life and death, he hears a voice claiming to know where his family went. It claims that it needs his help and that it can give him a second life, one far away from all the pain he’s ever known. So, Charles answers as any reasonable person would. He says no. Charles isn't ready or willing to die yet. But, as with everything else to this point, even his choice to keep fighting is taken from him all too soon. With no other option but the dark oblivion of death, Charles chooses to make a deal with the spirit of a distant world that's seeking a wild card in its battle against the gods, monsters, and mortals that threaten its existence. Someday, he’ll find where his family went. Someday, he’ll uphold his end of the bargain and hunt beings powerful beyond anything he’s ever known. Someday, he might even – hatch? “CHEEP!?” Things to Know: -Cheep!? Will release on a minimum weekly schedule. -After a backlog of chapters, posting will slow, but in the interim you can expect a chapter a day up until roughly 25 chapters. -This story at times will potentially carry some heavy moments, but the tone is intended to be lighter overall. -There are invisible game-like elements in this story, but nothing so concrete as a dedicated gamelit novel. -I personally have some issues with anxiety, so I may or may not interact with the community a lot. I'll try if anyone has questions, but I can't guarantee that it'll be consistent. -MC is a non-human lead, and will never actually become human. Romance will potentially happen between side-characters, but not with the MC. -MC IS NOT THE ONLY VIEW POINT. I have to put that out there because people sometimes hate alternate PoV's in a story. None of them will be filler, and they'll be there only to give a little bit more nuance and meaning to the world that the MC has stepped in, or is about to be imminently important. I'll try to keep them down, but this also helps to prevent me from burning out getting trapped in one view. -Most of all, I hope that this story is enjoyable to you, and that you have a great time reading it! -Written by Michael Adams, Cowritten/Edited by Summer Kent

DYING DUNGEONS: DEAD KINGS & MAD QUEENS.
A sickness is spreading. Dungeons are dying and crumbling to dust. Monsters that had been residing in them gather in hordes and spill out in waves over the neighboring kingdoms, swallowing them whole. The last of the Heroes are dying out. For some reason, new heroes haven’t been born or summoned into this world for the last century. Oracles have no answers. They are going blind and mute: seeing no futures and telling no prophecies. And while all this is happening, the [Voice], the entity that had been guiding everyone from the very beginning of time, is silent. Leaving humans and others with no guidance to solve this problem. Is this the end of Time? Author's note: Being someone with full-time work and with a rolling schedule, I'll update whenever I have time, so no promises on a consistent schedule. *This is a slow paced story with dungeon building elements showing up later on. *In this world, a dungeon seed first needs to prove its worth and only then it gets the chance to become a dungeon core and grow. *All art is by me

Two Existentialists | S.R.
"How many existentialists does it take to screw a lightbulb?" Spencer asked with a small laugh. Once again the room was silent. You faintly heard Agent Rossi mutter, "Don't.""2. One to change the light bulb and one to observe how it symbolizes an incandescent beacon of subjectivity in a netherworld of cosmic nothingness," he said. The room was silent still, until you laughed. His eyes looked up at yours in confusion. "Wouldn't they sit in the dark and hope that the bulb decided to light again? An existentialist would never change the bulb. He would allow the darkness to exist," you questioned.-#1 #spencerreid#1 #mgg#1 emilyprentiss
