Sophia sat there registering what Nick had just said. “What do you mean you and Maya, why did you train your kidnapped kid I mean wouldn’t that give her a better chance and escaping.”

“I didn’t kidnap her” Nick said starting to get frustrated.

“Ok if you're not lying then you should have no problem defeating me in battle.” “Right?!” The older girl said.

“I would have no trouble either way.” Nick said being a bit cocky.

“Ok then meet you outside in the parking lot.” the older one said with a smirk on her face.

Nick followed them outside where there was a parking lot with only three cars sitting in the corner of it. They walked to different sides of the parking lot and faced each other.

“By the way my name is Rose and I will be the death of you.” Rose said from the other end of the parking lot.

“My name is Nick and let me tell you I’m not gonna kill you but I’m gonna hit you so hard when you wake up your clothes will be outdated.” Nick said threateningly.

Rose started charging up her powers and her palms started glowing.

“Power up already… or do you not have any powers.” Rose said with a huge smile reaching up to her ears.

Nick started to charge energy and stopped charging at the brink of his gauntlets appearing so he could have the element of surprise.

“Alright I am ready fire at will.” Nick said

Rose laughed and pointed her palm at Nick who turned his head to the window to see that Maya was looking out the window at him with tears pouring down her face. He gave her a reassuring look. Then he looked at Rose again who was burning brightly thought her entire body and slightly floating of the ground with deep red eyes. She fired a giant laser like a flashlight only stronger and deadlier. Maya at this point was on her knees crying yelling Nick’s name the light hit Nick and it enveloped him into the light. Now Maya was lying on the ground crying so much that she could not see at all but she could feel her tears streaming down her face. There was a big smirk on Sophia’s face which was wiped off her face immediately as Rose smacked against the wall of the building and creating a hole through the wall. Sophia looked back at where Rose had just previously been a few seconds ago to see Nick standing there with his gauntlets and boots, they were glowing their blue flames again his eyes velvet red. She tried to comprehend what had just happened but was unable to.

“How did you- you were just-” Sophia said confused.

Nick started to release his power and his eyes went back to their normal hazel color his gauntlets and boots disappeared and he looked just as he did before the fight.

“That’s my power.” Nick said as Rose started to climb out of the wall with bruises and cuts all over her body. She was only slightly glowing and was not floating any more.

“But that just isn’t logical.” Sophia said. “How did you-.” “Wait.” Sophia said with a look that seemed like she was in a flash back.

Nick waved his hand in front of her face to see if she was deep in thought or not, there was no reaction which meant that she was very deep in thought.

“You’re the one that The Master was talking about, he said that there was a very powerful girl and a boy that stopped there a few years ago and he said that we should not challenge them because they were at least ten times more powerful than us.” Sophia said

“That might have been us.” Nick said

At that moment Maya came crashing through the door using magic to rip the doors off their hinges and throw them across the parking lot.

“I’m so glad you’re OK.” Maya yelled while running towards them.

Sophia spreaded her arms smiling getting ready for a hug but was dumbstruck when Maya ran right past her into Nick's bulky arms, she had tears of joy streaming down her face now rejoiced that Nick was still alive and unharmed.

“How do you know him.” Sophia asked

“He goes to school with us and he is in our math class.” Maya answered

“Wait.” Sophia said. “So he is Nick, the scrawny little kid.” Sophia asked

“Yeah but now he isn’t so scrawny any more ever since he was trained by The Master.” Maya clarified

“You know I am right here right.” Nick said

“Yeah we know.” Maya said

“And soon you’ll be dead!” Rose yelled

Rose was now glowing brighter than before and was flying high in the air, she started to charge up her light beams again. Nick started charging up his powers also but before he able to fully charge she had already shot her laser directly at them. He felt the power rising out of him but it wasn’t rising fast enough so he pushed Maya out of the way of the laser as it hit him with full force Maya’s facial expression went from having a good time to complete sadness she ran towards the beam as the beam died down and kneeled next to Nick’s body laying on the ground with his pajamas all ripped up. He was at least a foot deep in the cement. Rose came back to the ground and she stopped glowing.

“YOU KILLED HIM!” Maya yelled with both anger and sadness while tears ran down her face.

“That was the point.” Rose said calmly.

Maya waved her hand in a slapping motion and and a giant blue hand appeared in mid air and smacked Rose sending her flying across the parking lot with great speed and smacked into the wall making a hole in it. Maya started feeling for a pulse and found a very feint one in his neck.

“He’s alive!” Maya said happily “But he’s going fast.”

Maya leaned over to Nick and down using his chest a pillow while listening to his heart beat.

“I think I can save him, I learned some healing spells with The Master. Let me go get my staff to make the ritual. Keep an eye on him and keep him safe.” Maya said.

“OK.” Sophia said.

Maya ran back into the inn, she rushed rapidly towards their room she didn’t bother to unlock the door she just flung the door off its hinges she rushed towards her staff when she grabbed it there were a lot of people standing in the doorway with murderous looks in their eyes. She tapped her staff against the floor and all of the people went flying back against the wall hard enough to knock out normal people but they were robots so it didn’t effect them. The action allowed for Maya to slip through and head back to Nick. When Maya got back she used her staff to draw markings around Nick, she walked over to a circle on the edge of the markings and stood in it. She started mumbling words that sounded like another language and tapped the ground with her staff every so often. Maya’s hair started to lift as did Sophia’s as if gravity had just given up and their hair was just floating. Maya started to lift of the ground and glow a bright pink, she slowly floated over towards Nick. When she was a few feet away she raised her hands and a pink glowing ball of energy started to form in her hands. When she finished generating the ball of energy it slowly floated out of her hands and into Nick’s chest. Nick started breathing more normally than the shallow breathes he was just taking. He started to sit up but fell on his back again into his indent in the cement clutching his ribs.

“Ow ow ow ow ow.” Nick said in pain

“I thought you healed him?” Sophia said.

“I did I just can’t heal bones and skin I can only heal organs which what was damaged with him.” Maya said.

“Great, so I just have to lay here and let my ribs heal up.” Nick said.

“Yeah I guess if you don't want pain because we can’t get a doctor or anything.” Maya said.
