《World Integration》Chapter 26: Goblin Versus Kobold

Albert Lee 3rd Pov
The streets of the neighbourhood that which Albert Lee and his father is currently living on. It is quite quiet and empty of people.
After the first incident in which a group of children, kids in their early teens who were playing on the empty grass field in the neighborhood, they were ruthlessly killed and then slaughter by a pact of kobolds.
People have learned their lesson by watching some people make those mistakes. So the rest of the people within the neighbourhood have chosen to board themselves up, with the rest of their families. Slowly biding for time until the necessary help has arrived.
And the parents of those kids that were unfortunately slaughtered by the pact of kobolds. They certainly did grief a lot, unable to hold back their emotions and tears.
With some out of anger and rage, the parents of those children then tried to kill the pact of kobolds by themselves.
Although, guns and firearms are modern day most powerful weapons, but they are not omnipotent. Any individual is capable of carrying a gun and pulling the trigger to fire it.
But, it certainly takes some deals and a lot of effort in order to land a fatal killing blow, with a gun.
The kobold would certainly not remain stationery for the individual to land a decisive shot. At the same time, a kobolds sense of smell is like that of a dog, many times stronger than a human. So it is able to smell you and detect presence from miles away.
A single kobold is capable of easily killing and overpowered a group of men carrying guns.
The grieving parent would then undoubtedly meet the same fate and unfortunate end as their deceased child. However, the grieving parents was able to kill a single kobold before they were all slaughtered. It was not their bullets that did the final blow.
The kobold has simply died from blood loss, after having incurred several bullet wounds from a human, enough to empty out a whole pistol ammunition magazine in one go.
A lone kobold, away from its usual pact of three, was spotted wandering alone by itself upon the neighbourhood streets that Albert Lee was living on.
It seems to be looking out for any potential prey, scouting around the surrounding area and environment. As its nose is constantly moving, sniffing the air for any lingering scent of smell of a human.
However, the kobold's nose had suddenly caught onto the scent of something. It smell rather horrendous and disgusting, but nevertheless, it was still potential prey and food.
And there was more than one of them. Lucky for me. It was what the kobold first thought, as it then turns its huge body around to look at the direction of where scent is coming from.
It was then that three goblins, roughly the size pre-adolescent children, had entered the kobolds line of sight.
The goblins look like any other typical green skin goblin from a fantasy novel or any work of fiction. Their heights are roughly around 120-130 cm tall, reaching up to the near waist area of the lone kobold.
The face of a goblin is extremely hideous, ugly even; resembling a middle aged man, with sharp pointy elongated ears and an arrow like triangular nose.
The three goblins were basically half naked, only managing to wear a loincloth to cover its lower half.
The little creature's weaponry is basically carrying a stick or a small wooden branch that it manages to break off from a large tree.
And the moment that the lone kobold had spotted the three goblins, and identify them as its prey.

The lone kobold then immediately charges towards the three goblins directions. And within seconds, the lone kobold had arrived in front of the three goblins.
The three goblins had no time to react, as the middle goblin within the group of three was then immediately pinned and pushed down to the ground by the lone kobold's vice like grip.
And waiting for the other goblins of the pinned down goblin to react. The lone kobold then immediately opens its mouth wide opened, and sink down hardly on the pinned down goblin's shoulder and neck.
The lone kobold then bite down on the pinned down goblin's shoulder, and then ripping off a large chunk and pieces of the goblin's shoulder and neck.
As you could instinctively hear the loud sounds of some bones cracking. With the lone kobold having broke a piece of the pinned down goblin's shoulder bone, with its massive bite.
Blood drippling down the side of the lone kobold's mouth, as bits and pieces of the pinned down goblin's meat and flesh could be seen in between the lone kobold's teeths.
"Guargh!!!" You could hear the loud painful screams and cries of the pinned down goblin.
Its cries was extremely weep full, as you could see the extremely fearful look within its eyes. It almost seems to made the little green skin creature more human.
The other two goblins both reacted differently; one tried to get the lone kobold off of its companion by whacking it with a stick or branch.
However, the weak thin little stick that the goblin used to smack the lone kobold did little to almost nothing, and only serve to further infuriate the lone kobold.
The weak thin little stick that the goblin had used to hit the lone kobold, then immediately snapped in half the moment it hits the lone kobold's body.
On the other hand, the other goblin had attempted to run off and abandoned its own friend and companion. It was then immediately caught by the lone kobold's big hand.
The lone kobold's hand was extremely big, almost twice the size of the goblin's head, as it then firmly wraps around the waist of the escaping goblin.
And without much further thought, the lone kobold then proceeded to drag the goblin that it caught within its own hand, much closer to its face.
Not so long after, the lone kobold then opens its mouth wide, letting the blood of the pinned down goblin dribble onto the goblin trapped within its own grasped face.
You could see the obvious terror plastered on the goblin's face, as it tries desperately to no avail to get from the lone kobold's vice like grib.
The lone kobold then wraps its mouth over the goblin's head. And just like a guillotine blade, the lone kobold then readily snaps its canine mouth shut.
You could instinctively hear the sounds of the goblin's neck bone cracking and breaking down under extreme pressure.
And seconds later, the lone kobold's mouth then shuts, and the goblin's head was then completely severed from neck and shoulder bone. Thereby killing the poor creature instantly.
The goblin that tried to save its own friend by swinging a stick, suddenly lost all hope.
Its own knees were constantly shaking out of fear and fright, unabled to properly move, and frozen in place like Damn stone statue.
The goblin then stares hopelessly at the lone kobold, as it slowly wakes for its turn next.
The lone kobold then immediately grabs the head of the hopeless goblin, with its large hand. And wrapped themselves around the goblin's like a bowling bowl.

The lone kobold then squeezes the goblin's head, with its own hand. Slowly, crushing its goblin brain, as the cranium skull then caves in on itself.
The goblin head was then crushed to death, thereby killing it. Its suffering was much more intense than the first who died almost instantly by having its head chopped off.
The last goblin was the one that suffered the most, having to watch its own friends and companion then dies in front of it. Whilst, feeling pain from the lone kobold's bite. The suffering was unimaginable even for human standards.
The last goblin then eventually dies not so long after, after the lone kobold had then decided to end its suffering by crushing the goblin's head right underneath its large feet.
Albert Lee who had witnessed the entire scene happened right in front of him, from a distance.
He couldn't help but squinted his eyes, and then made a look of disgust.
He then thought to himself, 'Considering there are goblins hanging around. There must be a Goblin Nest or dungeon around the area that spawns those goblin monsters.'
Ding!
The sounds of the system notification alert ringing inside of his head, and blue screen panel then appears in front of Albert Lee. It was Loki communicating through the system interface.
As time passes, more dungeon would began to spawn in very unlikely places.
At the same time, the monsters that escaped from the dungeon would only serve to get stronger. With the magical power withinside the dungeons getting all the more denser.
The monsters withinside the dungeon will eventually undergo monster evolution, similar to racial evolutions, or possibly obtained class or profession to become stronger.
After reading the contents of Loki's message being conveyed through the system interface. Albert Lee then thought to himself, 'I see...'
And after some time thinking to himself. 'If that was the case, then I need to hurriedly get the move on and train myself. Instead of slacking off like I usually do.'
After which Albert Lee then proceeded to take out one of the Crude Steel Sword that he made, out from his own personal inventory subspace.
The length of the Crude Steel Sword greatly exceeds a meter in length.
After holding within his hand for a while, he instinctively thought. 'The first pathways in training on how to use a sword, is to first get accustomed into handling a sword by repeatedly swinging it.'
He then thought to himself, 'Through all of the typical fantasy isekai manga and novels that I've read. The main protagonist would train at wielding a sword by repeatedly swinging the sword at nothing. Slowly, getting himself accustomed with how to properly swing a sword.'
Through he repeated motions in simply swinging a sword, overtime the sword wielder would be able to identify the mistakes within their posture and then immediately corrects it.
The sword master in the world didn't properly have a master to teach him or her. He or she must have learnt how to wield a sword by constantly swinging the sword, and steadily repeating the same motion over the years, in order to hone their skills and abilities.
So Albert Lee then grabs a hold of the Crude Steel Sword, firmly grasped in between his two hands.
He then started to swing the crude steel sword that he is currently holding within his hands; raising the sword up and above, over his head, in which he then swiftly brung it down, cutting through the straight air.
With an autonomous mindset, Albert Lee then repeatedly swung the crude steel sword that he is currently holding within his hand at thin air.
Ding!
And after the third swing, Albert Lee then briefly heard the sound of the system notification alert ringing inside of his head. A blue screen panel then appears in front of him.
And after confirming the contents of the system notification popup to be a skill acquisitions, he then moves back to his sword training.
(!) System Notification Skill proficiency has reached a designated degree! The skill {Basic Sword Mastery Lv.1} has been acquired!
Ding!
So after the tenth swing, Albert Lee then heard another system notification alert, and a blue screen panel then immediately appears in front of him.
The contents of the second system notification alert was completely different than the first one, but it is not at all related to each other, as it both correlates with his sword training.
(!) System Notification Skill proficiency has reached a designated degree! The skill {Basic Vertical Sword Slash Lv.1} has been acquired! (!) System Notification Skill proficiency has reached a designated degree! The skill {Basic Sword Mastery Lv.1} has levelled up and become {Basic Sword Mastery Lv.2}!
'Oh, a new skill and my {Basic Sword Mastery} also levelled up... sweet.' Albert Lee thought, after reading the contents of the system notification alert.
He then resumes his sword training, swinging the crude steel sword that he is holding within his hand, vertically.
The number of sword swings gradually accumulated. It first reached the hundredth threshold, as a burning sensation could be felt withinside his arms.
The muscles fibres within his arms is constantly being stretched, and overused, as he continues to swing his sword aimlessly at nothing.
The skill proficiency of {Basic Sword Mastery} and {Basic Vertical Sword Slash} has been accumulated overtime, enough for the two skills to have levelled up a dozen times during training session.
Time slowly passes by, as the sun was slowly starting to settle down into the distance.
Albert Lee then lightly collapses to the floor of his own bedroom, drenched up within his own body sweat. His arms were burning more than ever before, as you could instinctively feel the heat radiating off from his body.
His body is trying its best to cool himself down, the heat withinside his body is being rapidly transported to the surface of his skin.
You could obviously see the intertwining green purple violet veins being closer towards the surface of his skin, trying its best to release the heat off from his body.
Albert Lee was extremely exhausted, after having fallen down, he could barely muster the strength to get, much less carrying a sword.
So he then decided to place the crude steel sword into his own personal inventory subspace, for storage.
Ding!
It was then that Albert Lee had suddenly heard the familiar sound of the system notification alert, as a blue screen panel then appears in front of him, which certainly surprises him.
(!) System Notification You have fulfilled the necessary requirements to unlock the {Swordsman} class by possessing two or so of the primary swordsman skill branch! (!) System Notification Would you like to assign the {Swordsman} class to one of the three subclass slots? Accept Decline (!) System Notification
Warning: Once you have assigned a subclass to one of your three subclass slots! It then becomes permanent and could no longer be changed!
However, it is possible to level up and rank up your subclass into something stronger or possibly unique!
'Well, considering that I now have two subclass slots left of the total three subclass slots. I might as well quickly fill them up sooner or later. And the swordsman class does seem cool anyways.' Albert Lee thought.
After giving it some thought, Albert Lee had chosen to asigned the {Swordsman} class to his third subclass slot. He then immediately presses on the 'accept' button in order to confirm his decision.
Ding!
The system then recognises Albert Lee's input command, as he then heard the sound of the system notification inside of his head, the blue screen panel that is currently in front of him then disappears quickly replaced with a new one.
(!) System Notification You have chosen to assign the {Swordsman} class to one of your three subclasses slots! (!) System Notification As a prerequisite for obtaining the {Swordsman} subclass, you have to acquire the swordsman starting skill [Swordsman Insight Lv.1][Horizontal Sword Slash Lv.1]!
The {Swordsman Insight} skill is very important in the long run, as it doesn't do much initially at the current stage. But it when it reaches level 100 and ranks up {Swordsman Enlightenment}, there is a small chance for the user to unlock sword energy.
Sword energy is only exclusive to the {Swordsman} class, completely to different to sword aura of the {Sword Warrior} class. An advancement class branch of the typical {Warrior} class.
However, sword energy possesses similar properties to sword aura, and can work perfectly together.
And Albert Lee had also learned the beginner's swordsmanship skill {Horizontal Sword Slash} easily, if he had swung his sword sideways a few times to obtain the skill.

Trickster's Tale (Book 1): Is That A Lute In Your Pocket will release on Kindle Unlimited on the 10th of May.Due to KU's exclusivity rules, I've had to take most of book 1 down.Book 1 Bard's Ballad takes place in the same extended Universe as my other story, The Houndsman. It's set on a distant 'disk', though. As a result, the magic system is unique in comparison and has a harder LitRPG system. While the story utilises stats, it doesn't take them seriously and occasionally makes fun of regular LitRPG mechanics.
