《Cross Roads: God's Reminder (Book Two)》Chapter 19

Infiltrating the abandoned warehouse, they became extremely cautious as Suiyōbi unsheathed her katana, and Andrea put on her fingerless gloves printed with magic symbols.
“Okay, what now?” Suiyōbi questioned.
“Well, we come up with a plan. So, what you think?” Andrea asks out in the dark as a winged Diara with a mixture of royal purple and royal blue feathers emerged from of the shadows, wearing armored dark purple archery gear and met the two detectives. He was wearing his signature pair of reflecting goggles, covering his eyes.
Immediately, Suiyōbi identified him, “Oh my God! You’re Memento Dark!”
“Indeed, I am,” Memento Dark admitted. “You must be Detective Suiyōbi Kobayashi. I have heard a lot about your lineage of the Daemon Samurai. Yet, you use an unusual defensive swordsmen style that doesn’t use lethal force. Capt. Mercy has a great judge of character.”
Suiyōbi couldn’t help but blush a bit, as she shyly looks away.
“Yeah, JoJo is still outside, crying like a bitch. So, it’s just us three,” Andrea said.
“I have intercepted the communication waves from the SWAT leader’s radio to my own. How is your Japanese?”
“Watashi no nihongo wa chotto dakedesu,” Suiyōbi answered.
“Then you know exactly why I’m here. You don’t have to worry about the SWAT team. I’ve already neutralized them with a transmutative smoke grenade, and they are in the other room. It would’ve been a bloodbath if they went in that elevator.”
“You think the SWAT team is in on it?” Suiyōbi questioned.
“Not all of them, detective,” Memento Dark answered. “That is why whoever the Red Arrow has captive needs to come out of this warehouse in one piece.”
“Better safe than sorry,” Andrea agreed.
“Exactly. Follow me,” Memento Dark ordered as the detectives followed his lead.
Meanwhile, on the third floor of the abandoned warehouse, there were at least twenty men armed with machine guns dressed in blood-red clothing. In unison, everyone’s attention was at the loft elevator as it was operational. It was headed up to the third floor. Unbeknownst to everyone outside, there was a hidden attic of the warehouse where the hostage and the mastermind of the kidnapping are hiding.

Everyone else was preparing for war or close to that. It became very tense in that room. All their guns pointed at the loft elevator.
Then suddenly there was an explosion in the middle of the room, blowing a hole through the floor. Quickly, Memento Dark used his grappling gun and attached it to his compound bow. By using this, he could lift himself and the two detectives, Andrea, and Suiyōbi to the third floor.
Made it all the way to the ceiling, Andrea threw fireballs at the gunmen. But they didn’t blow up immediately; they stuck to them like a sticky bomb. Trying to make heads or tails of the glowing balls that are stuck to them, Andrea snapped her fingers, and the eight sticky fireballs attached to the men exploded, taking them all out.
Then it was Memento Dark’s turn as he shot an arrow into one of the gunmen’s leg and used it as a counterweight to safely descend from the ceiling, holding Andrea and Suiyōbi. Lowering them down to safety, they spread out immediately, taking on numerous of Red Arrow operatives.
Andrea went to one of the gunmen and disarming him before he could use his machine gun by breaking his arm in three places. Then, the nearby gunmen started shooting at Memento Dark as he shot another arrow, hitting him in the shoulder. This specialty arrow had a silk cable wire attached to the grapple component of the compound bow. He retracted the cable and reeled in the gunmen in one motion. While the gunman was being hurled in mid-air heading towards him, Memento Dark shoulder tackled him and sent him tumbling to the floor.
Afterward, one of the men pulled out a grenade. Thinking fast, Memento Dark wing slapped the captor who was hanging upside down beside him so hard that he sent him flying to the man who was holding the grenade. Unfortunately for him, he dropped the grenade, and it exploded.

Meanwhile, Suiyōbi was hard at work fighting off four different men at once with her katana. All four of them were superlatively trained in edged weapons combat, as well. Holding her own, Suiyōbi took down the men one by one, cutting their arms and legs off, leaving them alive to reflect on their shortcomings.
Andrea had a brash and straightforward approach by doing a little bit of southpaw boxing with fire punches. She landed an uppercut that not only scorched the man’s shirt off but left a blazing upward trail on his chest.
Some of the men regained their composure as they started shooting at the intruders until they were empty. Resorting to only their knives, one of the men ran up to Andrea as she encountered him with a Sling Blade and knocks him out cold; A spinning sit-out variation of a sleeper slam that makes use of the user's own momentum.
The attacker starts by running and extending his/her arm like a lariat takedown but instead performs a revolution around the target's shoulders. This causes the user to switch to his/her opposite arm before taking his opponent down to the mat while simultaneously landing in a seated position.
Their defenses were dwindling as they were only four men left.
“You two, get to the attic!” Memento Dark urged as Suiyōbi and Andrea made their way to the attic. To the remaining men, this will be easy, or so Memento Dark would make them believe. The men ran out of ammunition and only have their melee weapons of knives and any other inanimate object that wasn’t bolted down at their disposal.
With only using his compound bow, Memento Dark used his Filipino martial arts skills to counter every single wild and overhead strike that was coming after him. Being impatient, one of the men tries to wrestle him down only for Memento Dark to counter with a judo throw of his own and breaking his arm for good measure.
One down three to go, as the men tried to rush him at once. It was a mistake as Memento Dark, isolated one of them by using his transmutative smoke grenade. Coughing his lungs out, they were only two. One of the men took a lucky swing and hit Memento Dark in the chest with a steel pipe. Winded but not down for the count, Memento Dark fights on as he countered by swinging his bow and slapping him across the face with it, breaking his jaw and knocking him out cold.
Seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, Memento Dark decided to end it as he picked up the remaining gunmen and threw him into the very same hole he came out of.
Exhausted but victorious, it wasn’t over yet for Memento Dark. The same man who was gasping for air, Memento Dark picked them up by the neck and slammed him against the wall.
“I want to know who sent you!” Memento Dark interrogated.
Struggling for breath, the man answered in Japanese, “Watashi wa watashi ni nani o suru ka kinishinai, anata wa yōsei no otokonoko o kuso! Watashi wa eigo o hanasenainode, anata wa watashi o rikai dekimasen!”
Once having a stoic expression, Memento Dark could only help it but smile while proving him wrong, "Watashi wa anata o sememasenga, anata wa mukankeidesu."
In fear for his life, the remaining gunman had no other choice but to confess.
