《Childhood Dreaming》Chapter 6

"I never knew you liked those kinds of movies Zoey."
"Yeah it kind of goes against what a typical girl likes, but I've really enjoyed watching them since I was just a little kid."
"It pretty cool though, and know I've seen a completely new side of you!"
They both smiled at each other while walking down the red carpet. The cinema was filled with light and people in all directions. Posters of the upcoming movies hung on the wall, but Dylan's eyes were only fixated on one spot, Zoey's bright smile as she talked passionately about something she really enjoyed.
"I used to watch them with my dad every Saturday, so those kinds of movies have a special place in my heart, especially after he passed away."
"How long has it been now? 6 years?"
"Yeah… Let's talk about something else. Wouldn't want to ruin the mood out on our little date!"
Dylan blushed. D-d-date? Zoey smiled.
"Caught you off guard, huh?" She laughed as she turned around and continued walking.
Darkness lay over the town. In the center of town, an old building stood like it probably had for tens of years. Old statues were spread around its entrance. They were probably just as old as the building itself and in dire need of some renovation. They were all miscolored and had moss growing on certain parts of them. Weird that the town never does anything about these statues. They don't exactly sell the feeling of a grand theatre anymore.
Chris stood next to one of the larger statues. This one in particular depicted a proud (or at least once) lion guarding the entrance.
"Chris!"
A loud, but also soft and smooth voice yelled out his name. He looked over in its direction only to see two girls, one rather tall and the other petite, walk racing towards him. The tall one, Mia, took the lead as Amelia desperately tried to keep up.

The difference in personality were clear as day only from looking at their outfit. Mia, the club leader and more outgoing one wore a white shirt combined with a black skirt and black shoes. Amelia on the other hand, wore more loose-fitting clothes, with a baggy hoddie almost completely covering up the upper part of her.
Despite Amelia's lack of effort when it came to clothes, Chris could not stop himself from noticing how well it fit her. He even noticed the smaller details sprinkled over her outfit, like her bag outfitted with pins of different animals, and the pink lines which contrasted the otherwise gray hoodie. For someone who didn't know her she might have looked like a slacker, but for Chris, the outfit made perfect sense. Just like her clothes, Chris had painted the picture of a reserved, but cute and caring person from his encounters with Amelia.
"Sorry for being so late! I tried to convince Amelia to wear something more appropriate for a trip to the theatre, and then time just flew, and we missed the bus."
Chris could see Amelia trying to hide her obvious embarrassment in the hood of her hoodie. I think it looks well on her.
"Oh, don't worry about it. I just arrived myself."
"What about Lilly?"
"When I went to her house, her mom said she had already left. But she wasn't here when I arrived."
"Weird. I just hope th-"
"Sorry I'm late!"
They all turned around as Lilly came running towards them. She came to a halt just in front of them.
"Where were you? Your mom said you'd already left."
"Oh: I…uh…Just…took a longer route. You know, to get some air."
They all looked confused at each other at Lilly's statement.
"Then I lost track of time."
"Oh well, at least we're all here now, and it's still 10 minutes until it starts."

Mia took all the attention away from Lilly, who desperately tried to explain why she arrived late."
"Yeah, let's just get inside before it starts."
Soon they were inside the theatre, slowly making their way towards their seats. Mia had planned this trip for a while now, so they managed to get relatively good seats. They sat in the fifth row from the front, with seats in the middle of the row.
Mia sat down first, with Lilly next to her. In the other end sat Amelia, which meant that Chris got Amelia to his left and Lilly to his right.
We haven't really talked a lot except from when were in the club together nowadays. She's always occupied with something. I just hope she hasn't grown bored of me… I guess I should try to talk to Lilly. Also, it seems like she's trying to hide where she actually was before meeting up. Ugh, why does it have to be so hard!
"C-Chris…"
Chris left his thoughts and looked to his left. Surprisingly, Amelia looked at him with her cute yet timid stare. Her light brown eyes shone in the light coming from the ceiling.
"D-do you… like going to the theatre?"
"Well, I haven't really been here so often but the few times I've been I really enjoying it."
He smiled back at Amelia who now looked even more embarrassed from Chris noticing her.
"What did you watch?"
"I watched a few plays from Shakespeare, but I've never seen a play written by a local before."
"hmmm…"
Amelia let her thoughts take over in response to his answer. She's kind of cute when she's lost in thought like that.
"I…used to watch a lot of plays when I was young. W-with my dad I mean… He used to be a playwright."
"Seriously?" Chris almost jumped out of his seat after hearing about Amelia's dad.
"Did he write anything well known?"
"Uh…He mostly wrote more locally known plays, but he had some success with that, and said he liked it that way."
The light suddenly faded and in quick response, they both stopped talking and moved their attention to the scene. It was nice being able to talk to Amelia like this. She is usually more reserved, and don't really talk about her private life.
Before they knew it, the three-hour play was over, and the crowd moved out of the room after a standing ovation.
"Who knew someone in this area could write such a good play? I'm so amazed!"
"I agree! The plot twist at the end were just so good."
"And what about the choreography? They've really spent a lot of time working on it."
Lilly and Mia continued ranting about the play they just watched, as all of them made their way outside. Lilly, not managing to hide her excitement, happily paced back and forth with a wide smile on her face as she passionately talked. I've never seen her be so excited about something like this before. It's kinda cute to be honest.
"Good to see you liked it at least. Maybe this will be your gateway into literature?" Chris said jokingly.
"You know what? If it's possible to make something like that, it's worth a try! Starting today, I'm gonna try my hands on writing as well!"
Well, this is gonna be interesting.
"I like your attitude, Lilly! Why don't we all try our hands on it? Let's say, a month from now, every member will submit a text. And then we can submit the winner's text to the newspaper, maybe we'll even throw in a prize as well!"
Mia, speaking like a true club president.
