《AVATAR THE LAST AIRBENDER FANFICTION: RETURN TO THE EARTH》Book 1: Origin CHAPTER 20. AGAIN

We could not make a compromise between us. It must be good but I had to make a change since it was given to me. I hardly think even Iroh knows fully what is going to happen even more so since he has not made his trip to the spirit world. At least I think he has not.
When I arrived at the coast, I saw that boat was ready for leaving.
I made my final goodbyes and left the south pole. To our surprise serpent back in the air temple was waiting for us to pass. I think all animals can see us coming since the snow turns black when we are close. At least fire nation can not make surprise attacks during their sailing trips. That is one of the largest reasons why Zhao got promoted. What he did was considered as impossible. Sadly, we know it was staged.
Our first fire nation colony gave us sudden news. It seems during our tribe fire nation army attacked the Ba Sing Se. They managed to take over one part of the outer ring. This causes large famine back there but they were repelled. It seems like Lu Ten managed to survive since he was criticized for retreating too quickly. There are in fact many proves of it but they do not know about the Dai Li. He must have been cautious of earthbenders since he had met me. The outer ring is made from commoner benders without training so the power difference inside the walls must be large. He must have felt concerned about slow-fighting talent going toward him.
I am glad he survived.
(I think I will leave you behind. I am going home. I will go back my thing and go.) I went without telling anyone since I think they had to bring me back. For that reason, I wrote these words on paper.
I took serpent and flying lemur with me or more likely they just followed me. Is there a reason why animals follow humans? I can understand lemur but why would serpent follow?
I seriously should name them. I think something like Levi from leviathan since Jörmungandr does not make any sense.
(Do you like the name, Levi?) I clearly liked it. Seriously do they understand our words. Who is claiming we are the most intelligent animal if we can be considered as one? Back on earth dolphins were considered more intelligent by some. Well, we might no be since there is many being who can talk in this world.

Let´s just forget that part. What should I call the lemur? I got nothing. Momo was called Momo since it means apple. I do not remember what language it was. In any case, I do not know what any name means here. It was a lot of work to find what my name means. There is no internet here which I could use to find out.
I should make the name to hold.
I cannot since he is waiting for my answer. I should not have named Levi.
Something. Anything. Hurry. Seriously. Nothing. I cannot name him titiuu since Moomin did so. Hurry up and say something that is not “something”.
(Bolin.) I am a bad person. I am simply horrible. And he likes it. This could not be any worse.
Good thing no rain hit us.
By the next day, I managed to arrive at Gaoling.
Earth rumble arena is having a fight.
That came as surprise. I remember the first earth rumble was about to start when I left this place. I do not think there has been a year yet. Well. It does make sense since fighters could not gain their full salary by one fighting day per year. There must be many fights year by year.
Notice even tells that this is the fourth time this event was made.
Should I fight there? I might meet Toph or Yu since one of them might be a contestant and the other is a sponsor.
No. Fu might become angry if I become part of it. I might better visit him first if I want to do so.
Three days later during the earth rumble.
(Welcome to earth rumble. Today we are going to make this special. As a celebration, we are going to celebrate the fire lord´s death. For this happy news, we are giving a reward of a hundred gold to the winner. I hope this will motivate everyone to try beating our raining champion. This is going to be or nothing challenge. Everyone can enter for small payment until only one is in the ring. Every volunteer should know you will not get your money back if you do not manage to stay inside the ring or you did not manage to enter inside soon enough. No hard feeling after the fight. As for during the fight, all hard feelings are allowed. Everyone ready for this come to that corner for paying your part.) Fu

It is going to be interesting if nothing else.
During the show, the arena was hardly even a few are. Know thanks to my help ring is closer to one hectare. It hardly can manage with a dozen contestants but it will give one hell of a show. No matter what, I am not going to go. I will stay watching for now. I doubt Fu will just let one lucky person take money no matter how bad his reputation comes to be.
To no surprise it was madness. Everyone's throwout was full of teeth marks and bruises. It is strange that I enjoy watching this. It must be because I have experienced life and death battles during the desert trip. That was over a year ago. I am surprised I have no PTSD signs. It might be because I have not seen anyone dying.
It was a surprise Azulon died. Not really but this shows he died naturally since Iroh became the next Fire lord. I seriously should concentrate to fight.
There is a clear difference between the two groups. Those who are in the center and those who are close to the border. Everyone's week was centered in the middle to avoid being thrown out. As for the strong. They were confident to survive no matter where they were. That is a very earthbender way of thinking.
I could finally see Toph and Yu. Toph was a contestant and Yu was in the betting hut. It seems like he knows her skills but keeps it a secret. Smart.
I chose to go to my uncle.
(Who are you betting on?) Shamo
Yu turned around to see me. I think he could not recognize my voice. Although he recognizes me immediately when he saw me.
(We can talk later. Let´s just watch. I have not seen anyone earthbending in close to a year. This is a welcome surprise to me.) Shamo
(No. We can not put this later. When did you arrive?) Yu
(One young girl was thrown out.) Shamo
(What!?) Yu
It was not Toph naturally. My uncle was looking at me angrily but I had the feeling he had missed this.
The fight continued until there was only Toph left. Naturally. Fu would not let the thing go easily. It will not cause harm since Toph wants to fight rather than the money.
(You have the final chance to fight the blind bandit.) Fu
(I will.) Shamo
Naturally, I wanted to meet her especially.
She did not recognize me since I had boots made from wood. It sure makes my bending more difficult but I wanted to do it this way.
I choose to make our fight identical to Toph versus Fu. In other words, I sent multiple rocks by kicks. She did return my attacks with the counterattack with half of her dome. I jumped sideways and pushed my hand to the earth and sent rock toward her. She easily dodged and sent a counter. She was confident of her victory. Sadly, I had a plan.
I made a dome half-circle us while I was in the air. She could not have noticed this since it was her attack and bending was done in the air.
It blocked the attack and went directly toward her. She notices this sudden difference and managed to dodge underground.
I do not know where she is. I have no answers to seismic sense. I could not feel any vibrations. I had to kick my boots away.
I could feel she knew who I was. I think I made her even more serious.
I think I need to end this with the next attack.
Toph´s hands came out directly under me and buried me to my neck. Normally I would have turned ground around me to armor but that will not work against her.
I choose to put all my power into my legs and I jumped out. She will attack me a moment I land which will not give me chance to counter-attack but it does give me a chance.
Like I said. I used all my power toward my legs which causes them to be useless. I doubt I could even stand. For that reason, I am going to use Toph´s future advice. I am going to face it head-on. Literally. My attack caused the ring to break into four halves. Since I was in the middle of it, I could manage to stay inside it. Fortunately, Toph did not manage to do the same.
(Great to see you again.) Shamo

Dungeon Core Chat Room.
This is a slower-paced "experiment and dungeon building" web novel that tries to use the idea of peer-to-peer communication with Dungeon Cores instead of Dungeon to slave monster communication to break up the detailed dungeon building. Rank 1 description: (minimum met for system initialization...detailed description as follows) Each race was given a system by the gods to make up for their shortcomings and balance their place in this world. Humans: Abysmally bad at understanding and using magic unable to use more than the lowest of magic were given the "Skill System" magic in the form of premade skills with use, study, and mastery tied to experience. Elves: Intuitively understand magic and have long lives leading to vast knowledge and skill in their chosen fields. However, as a species, they have nearly zero sex drive and less than low fertility, so they were gifted the "World Tree System" with experience gained through the care of natural areas – gifting the chance of children to increase their numbers without dirty copulation. All “natural” or “wild” monsters are given an "Evolution system" designed around killing and consuming as many creatures as possible, slowly increasing strength and, at thresholds, allowing mutations to alter them multiple times. Dungeon cores are different. Unlike humans, they can see, manipulate and live off mana. Unlike Elves, they naturally crystallize after extended periods of time in high mana level areas. However, they cannot easily move or communicate and typically go insane without companionship. As a species other than the odd eccentric they are unimaginative. Brute forcing solutions without the drive to truly innovate. Thus they have been gifted with the "Dungeon Connection System" a magical version of the internet accessible by their peers that allows them to barter and sell: bait, traps, monsters, and knowledge, as well as entertain each other with “adventure streams” using exciting recorded battles and humorous reels of arrogant chumps biting off more than they can chew to often fatal effects. This is the casual story of a dungeon unluckily spawned far from potential adventurers forced to innovate beyond its peers to find its place in this world. Rank 2 Description: Justification. I've been on a dungeon core kick for months and while I love the genre – it's sparse with entries. Often the forced conflict gets repetitive and frantic solving of threats "power levels" the protagonist to god levels to progress the plot – taking away the nice steady progression fantasy I'm looking for. (Progression in this story is linked to how strong of monsters/traps/whatever he can create not his "level"...this is demonstrated by some of his newer monsters beating his older monsters not with discrete "this monster has 10 attack this one has 40") Additionally, the focus on 3rd parties with their drama takes away from the reason I’m reading dungeon core novels in the first place – I'm looking for magical crafting, experimentation and kingdom building – not defence from higher and higher levelled enemies looking to steal/destroy/control the MC. This novel is kind of just me writing the story I wish I could read. I like thinking about the experimentation that can be done in fantasy settings using 'mana' as an excuse to make up rules and try to keep them internally consistent. IE once I define how a rule works, I'm going to commit to keeping it – no breaking hard truths I've given when it's convenient, even if it backs me into a corner. Hopefully, that should make the story interesting to read even if it's SOL and less action-oriented. There will be problems to solve and a clear progression in strength (of created monsters and knowledge) however due to not wanting to force conflict for the sake of conflict the general theme will be closer to slice of life with few action sequences and no overarching goal so please keep that in mind when picking this up as the genre is not for everyone. Finally, I have a clear goal of what I want from this story (not an endless romp but a series of arcs and then a conclusion that's a couple of dozen medium-sized chapters long) I want to commit to finishing it or at least bringing it to a point of rest. I hate all the engaging stories that stop with a “hiatus” indefinitely so in the event I lose motivation I'll work to end this even if the ending becomes rushed/unsatisfying just to give a sense of closure. I’m planning on including several polls in terms of direction and taking feedback heavily into account if I get enough readers (but may choose to ignore it if it deviates too far from the direction I want to take this as in feedback like: “The MC needs a cartoonishly evil arch-enemy that wants to enslave him and force the mc to pump out magic items” or “the MC needs to make a body and learn teleportation then live with humans” will get shot down without consideration.)

8 207The Great Expedition(Hiatus)
In a city surrounded by deadly mists, the runner Lleu spends his days delivering messages and packages while trying to move up in the world. One chance encounter later and his life is catapulted in every direction. Author's Comment: I've stopped working on this for the time being. I lost interest in continuing this story in favor of other projects.
8 106(Un)Prophesied Heroes
A regular guy in his 20s gets sucked into a world full of levels, monsters, gods, and propchecies with nothing but his ukulele and the clothes on his back. Uke in hand, Wesley made his way to the local branch of the Bard College to pick up a few levels and hit the road to travel the new world. For a while its all magic forests and incredible sights, but as time goes on it seems more and more likely that Wesley is actually one of these "prophesied heroes" that the lore on this world is full of. Fortunately for him, whatever Dark Lord he was supposed to duel didn't seem to get the memo and the world seems to be at peace. So it's probably nothing, right? This is the story of Wesley's adventuring party as they do their best to get him to fulfull his destiny. A power-hungry [Rogue], a slightly evil [Cleric], a [Mage] that just wants to go home, and a [Lord] who just wants to study the blade. Hopefully destiny is on their side, because the gods seem content to watch them struggle. Author's Note: This story should update once per week, but it might update more. Please leave any constructive criticism/typos I might have missed in the comments. Please enjoy, and let me know what you think!
