《Golden Age》Chapter 4 - Ren

In a flash of light a young girl appeared in front of me, she was barely reaching my chest, with short blond hair and yellow irises, she had a cute appearance.
A strong feeling of wanting to hug her surged within me but I managed to suppress it within me, I didn’t want to leave a bad impression on our first meeting.
[My Queen! Congratulations ohnn *aii* on y-your awakening!] She just bite her tongue while speaking, this is too much, it’s not my fault, it’s her fault for being too cute.
I made a large step and took her in my arms, hugging her head tightly against my chest.
I could hear a muffled voice coming for her but I was not strong enough to let her go just yet.
After some time I returned Ren her freedom.
Ren with a flushed face she didn’t want to meet my eyes. Did I overdo it? As soon as I thought that I felt her clinging to me.
Suppressing a certain feeling surging through me, I took her hand and with a thought we teleported to Level 9 which was the Control Level and brain of my castle.
I sat on the main seat overlooking the whole level.
This level was the real core of the whole caste and this seat is special, when I sit on it I will be connected on a very profound level with the caste directly increasing my power and the castle’s power.
I lifted Ren from besides me and put her on my lap.
[Ren, what can you tell me about my origin?]
Besides me there is only Ren for now. While I know everything about the castle and its functions I still know nothing about my origin and creation.
[My Queen, what you desire to know does not exist. My Queen is a singularity that occurred between this universe and the ‘other side’, as a result my Queen became to contain laws from both sides, what this entitles I can’t imagine. I also don’t know how we arrived at our current position in this universe.] Ren explained to me in a cute voice, after a short pause to let me digest the information she continued.

[My Queen is a completely new and unique race and have the absolute power and authority over it. My Queen is a perfect and supreme being!]
[Thank you Ren, apart from my origin I have a complete understanding over everything else.]
Thinking over what Ren told me in the end my origin does not matter, what matters is only me and my subjects, I feel a strong love and protectiveness towards Ren and I know I will feel it towards the subjects that will be born in the future.
The most important skill I have is the one to upgrade and control my castle. Using huge amounts of materials and power I can upgrade my castle giving me more power and abilities and upgrading all my castle’s functions. At this moment the castle is level 1, there is no upper limit so there is no limit to its potential, at this level the most important ability I have is the ability to create other subjects.
[It is my utmost pleasure and duty to serve my Queen!] What a cute girl she is, I couldn’t resist giving her a kiss on the cheek. I know she was born to be the perfect aide for me but her personality is completely natural and I am happy to have her beside me.
Blushing she couldn’t meet my eyes.
[Where are we now?] It’s the time to learn about the outside.

Re:Hammer
Your average Reborn Game System story, similar to The Gamer and Solo Leveling. Written for fun rather than novilization like the others, so it is smaller and less intense. It is set in an AU Warhammer (based on a slightly modified version of Warhammer Fantasy's End Times. (Modified because the real setting was a catastrophe. There will be no exploding moons or beating the God Of Indulgence because they overindulged, and no Slaans fucking off to space. People shall use their brains and not just "lol cuz I can" bs like Todbringer thinking the end of the fucking world was the best time to go persue you interracial Yaoi rivalry with a Beastlord). So you might notice names and events but don't expect it all to go the same way. And the Main Character is not the only Player in this game~ Sequel found here. https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/26444/rehammer-the-hammering

Balancing of the world
Just as humanity reached the height of its power, it fell again. Mana was introduced into a previously balanced world, sending everything present into chaos. Humanity losing its technological advantages, fell back to the dark ages, back to when survival was all but guaranteed. Mana though useful for enhancing the body isn’t unlimited, and humanity fell behind fast. From experiments, a being of mana, born into this chaotic world. The first of its kind. Rather than thriving in a world to which it belongs, it has to model the world so it will suit its needs. As a lone being, it has to use its power over mana to influence beasts and humans alike to abide by its will and further its goals. It will manipulate intelligent lifeforms to do its bidding while believing that they are becoming stronger. It will help lower lifeforms and guide their lives until they fit into the world as envisioned by our being. Read how our protagonist starts in a small area, changing it to suit its needs, and then grows until the world is balanced and at peace again. This is my first story, and I don’t have an editor yet. My English should be good enough, but I expect to have to go back and do editing later on. I would classify this story as litRPG. There will be a type of system with blue boxes and all, though the perspective is the system itself and how it came to be and why it does what it does. As a single mighty being, there will be dungeon core influences such as expanding the area and influencing all within though there is no such thing as an actual dungeon. As humanity is trying to survive, there will also be some city/base building influences, and I will have some perspective changes to show how the forces are being perceived by the affected people. As I have a busy job, it will be hard to update consistently, but I am quite a bit ahead of what I have currently uploaded.

Yin-Yang
Mages in North America seem to have it all – typically from well-off families, and able to manipulate their environment in ways most of the world would never believe. They don’t even have to bother with the mundane details of life like housework, thanks to their sensitives, who also make a useful source for extra magical energy. After all, sensitives have no use for it themselves, and if mages weren’t meant to make use of it, then the sensitives would obviously have some way to prevent that. That a mage can transform a sensitive physically, with no restrictions beyond overall mass and basic biological viability, whereas magic tends not to work directly on any other living thing, is only further proof. And look at the way they live on their own, barely a step above animals. It’s better for them to belong to a mage. Sensitives in North America live on the edge of society and survival – typically so paranoid they avoid hospitals and anything else that could lead to being tracked, many of them with little or no education and no legal identity or existence. Mages exist, and mages want sensitives for some reason, but no one ever comes back to explain what that reason is. Waiting every day for the hunters to notice them doesn’t lead to much motivation or hope for the future. And once they’re captured, they’re the property of someone with a terrifying amount of power over them. Anything is better than capture. Mages are born to be the masters, and sensitives are born victims. Or are they? Jax’s life is turned upside-down when he’s caught by the hunters and sold to a mage. Andreas is still mourning for his previous sensitive, though, unconsciously creating a difficult standard for Jax to live up to, all the more so while still struggling to come to terms with this new reality as Andreas’ sensitive. A runaway sensitive isn’t what Van expects at the mental health centre. Is this a hunter trap, set for him and the rest of the Donovan family by the hunters? The hunters would, after all, love to see them cross the line openly and finally do something they can be charged with. Either way, Miranda’s genuinely in trouble, and he can’t just abandon her to it. Snatching a sensitive out from under the hunters and hiding her is odd behaviour for a mage – but then, Catherine is an odd mage, living in disgrace in the old servants’ quarters of her grandmother’s house, responsible for cooking and housework. Lila owes Catherine her freedom; is there a way to help Catherine achieve her own, and at what price? Tension is building between traditionally-minded mages and those advocating change, and something has to break. *** Yin-Yang includes a small amount of profanity and no graphic sex or on-screen physical violence. However, sex and gender roles and relationships within the mage/sensitive subculture are non-traditional in mainstream North American terms. The key criterion in a primary relationship is not relative sex or gender, but the pairing of mage and sensitive; given the transformation of sensitives by their mages, physical sex is non-absolute for a sensitive, and gender identity can vary as in anyone else. *** *** The way mages treat sensitives is extremely varied and, in some cases is outright abusive. The struggle against that is pretty much the point of the book. It is NOT grimdark or misery-porn! However, if you will be triggered by this, please, don't read Yin-Yang! *** Complete stand-alone novel, 153K words! Also available on Scribble Hub and as a free ebook.
