《Ascending》Blueprints

Not a moment later, a massive gust of dirt and air rushed into my entranceway. I tried to absorb all the extra rubble that flew into my entrance. On the plus side, it helps increase my Qi in my core. I had used up a ton for traps and building a staircase. I use less when eating, but to make a new item takes more.

After I cleared the airway, I pushed out my territory a couple of feet to see what I faced. I found a huge open cavern and what looks to be discarded stuff from creatures that used to live here.

On that note, I claimed this cavern while replenishing my Qi by absorbing the stuff left behind. It took about a week for the new room to be claimed. I didn’t want to stop and check up on my system notifications while trying to claim this cavern, which is about two times bigger than the room for my core.

Now, given a chance to look, I thought about notifications, please.

[Ding!] The Host has unlocked the following

-Grass

-Cave mushroom

-Sand

-Dried berries

-Branches

I was ecstatic with my discoveries, even though A.V.A told me they were everyday wilderness items. The left side of the cave wall has a small waterfall. I added rocks protruding from the wall to make the current water ripple down fast or slow into the nice small stream leading to our new staircase. I thought having some water interact with the stairs could make my trap more dangerous. I added some cave moss to liven some stones upon protruding rocks.

At the bank of the waterfall bed, I added a few cave mushrooms scattered about. First, I wanted to make the ground uneven to help my water stream. Next, I covered the entire floor with grass to make the area attractive to various wildlife. It was lush and added vibrant green colors to the dull cavern. I added a cobblestone trail that looked used to guide the way of my staircase.

I had the water that fell from my stairs into my hallway to my core room which would have a gloomy and muggy feeling. Moss covered the walls in some areas of the hallway and added for the final touch I added a cobblestone trail on the floor.

To keep the stream going, I made it where it would go to the far right side of the room so it could be made into a vast pond. The ground was absorbed to make the pond more profound, I had it to where at the edge it was ground level, then went deeper the closer it got to the wall.

At most, the pond was 6 feet on the deeper end when it met the wall. I materialized some crushed stone and added some sand on top. Next, I put a couple of bigger stone chunks and covered them with some moss. Next, I transferred some of my water to fill the pond.

I assume it is different from the natural moisture I absorb when creating water because mine is crystal clear and bluish. Even though I didn't have anything to put in the pond, I was still okay with it. I covered the floor in the core room with grass. It took me about two full days to remodel both rooms.

Eventually, I got some insects due to the water and grass; my falling traps primarily killed the bugs coming in, and I had gotten a few that I thought could evolve: The Katydid, yellowing darter dragonfly, sawtooth stag beetle, and the Luna Moth. So I decided to summon the insects when our core was complete. It did not take long to absorb dead bugs.

I pulled up the katydid blueprint first. It was small. I poured in some of our Qi, which grew to 7 inches. Its legs grew stronger to jump quicker and higher. The sound that it produced was louder and could create sound waves to hinder one’s mind, but it’s not deadly for a person.

[Ding!] The Host made a modified, evolved version of the Katydid. Would you like to use this blueprint? [Yes] or [No]?

Yes. I thought

Congratulations to the Host for creating a unique insect. Please see the status for information.

[Flying Jeweled Katydid]

I wasted no time inspecting my creation. Status!

Flying Jeweled Katydid

Rank:0

Qi: has a slight wind affinity

Description: As a newly evolved version of the Katydid, it can jump higher and hover for a bit in the air. Listening to its sound for an extended time can cause headaches if heard in a group. Its coloring makes it hard to spot in the environment. If caught, one can see tiny green emeralds over its body caused by being infused with the wind elements.

Next, I pulled up the Yellow-winged darter dragonfly. I poured in my wind Qi again and watched it grow. This time it expanded to about 1 foot; the reds and oranges stood more vibrant while the black on the insect vanished to be replaced by a green hue. In addition, it grew one new pair of wings to fit its heavier abdomen. The sharp needle-like legs of my new insect were enveloped in a slight wind current. Its six wings were green the farther out, and as it got closer to its body, it transitioned into orange than red.

I had to wait on the other insect’s blueprint to recollect more Qi after summoning five of my new bugs to patrol and kill other critters in our dungeon to help restore the lost Qi. The bugs were enormous compared to the core that I was now fused to.

A.V.A liked our improved versions so far; although it would take more for them to kill a Beast with a core, it could provide help and a distraction.

Afterward, I summoned another five to make an even ten of each new bug. I had them patrol both rooms; when the Qi was restored, I returned to my work.

The sawtooth stag beetle was the next blueprint to pull up. I pushed Qi into it and watched it grow. I wanted it to be about two feet long.

The sawtooth’s greenish rainbow shell began to harden, and it started to have spikes growing from it. The feet began to grow to support their newfound body weight.

Under the shell, it grew one more pair of wings, so it had four in total. The sawtooth part of my beetle began to get sharper and stronger to snap things in half. I adjusted the wings to move faster and enhanced the vision. The wings have a transparent metallic shine to them.

[Spiked Imperial Sawtooth Beetle]

Status!

Spiked Imperial Sawtooth Stag Beetle

Rank:0

Qi: has a slight wind affinity

Description: As a newly evolved version of the Sawtooth Stag Beetle, the Spiked Imperial Sawtooth Stag Beetle can fly slowly through the air but makes up in strength. The wings are metallic, translucent, greenish, and razor-sharp. It has an expansive field of vision and can cause wind pulsations that affect an individual’s concentration with its drum-like noise as it flies. The Spiked Imperial Sawtooth Stag Beetle can use its mandible as a brutal weapon to slice and lacerate.

Yes! I finally made a creature that could do some harm instead of annoying everything around them. I summoned five to start and did the same to patrol, like the others. Then, I pulled up the Luna Moth blueprint.

I pushed my last few remaining Qi into the blueprint and waited for the outcome. The wingspan grew to be two feet; the body became a softer fuzz, while the wings started to emit a soft hue of pale green glow with golden spheres following it as the wings flitter in place.

The golden spheres would be able to make an enemy fall into a deep sleep-induced coma if the enemy was in contact with the globe while my creature was flying.

The eyes of the moth had a more accurate vision, so it could see more details, and it could see in the dark. I wanted the creature to be more of a quiet defense defender. I had big plans for this little guy; even in the future, I could use its silk to make some clothes for loot.

The mandibles I made were more substantial, and the muscles in the thorax, too. An added increase in Qi for the thorax so it could produce sturdier, sharper silk. Due to the wind Qi that I had invested in the thorax, my Luna moth’s silk would make it hard to see if they placed it between two objects.

So far, I liked the new improvements that I had made; before moving on to the part where the System would acknowledge my new beast from the original animal blueprint, I asked myself if I could do anything to help improve it.

I had an idea where some bugs could regenerate a torn-off limb. So with that thought, I made the final touch towards this new creature I was making.

[Ding!] The Host made a modified, evolved version of the Luna Moth. Would you like to use this blueprint? [Yes] or [No]?

Yes. I thought, internally rolling my eyes; this question was getting repetitive. Why wouldn’t I want to add the evolved version to my collection?

[Translucent Moon Celestial Moth]

Status!

Translucent Moon Celestial Moth

Rank:0

Qi: has a slight wind affinity

Description: As a newly evolved version of the Luna Moth, the Translucent Moon Celestial Moth can fly invisibly through the air. The wings are soft films that can camouflage themselves in the environment. Its wings are translucent, greenish and razor-sharp. It has an expansive field of vision and can even see at night using heat signatures. As this beast flies, it produces a golden sphere like that; when interacted with, it sends the enemy into a dream-like coma to where it could be then killed without itself knowing.

The silk of the Translucent Celestial Moth is quite sturdy and hard to find. When used as a defense trap, it is razor sharp, but could make the softest silk thread when handled by a master.
