《Magic is Power》Chapter 1

“Yes, I finished running the audit”
“Okay, send me the report. Also, did you call Mr. Adler and let him know about the acquisition?”
Ah, Mr Adler. That fucking Adler. That man made him slog every single day, thought Gray
Of course, he couldn't say that on the phone.
“Yes sir, I had called him earlier”
The phone was cut. Gray sighed and thought about all the tasks ahead of him and felt like an old man.The truth was, he was just nineteen years old, yet he had a stable job due to his talent. He was his family's overachiever. Nevertheless, these days he was overwhelmed with work.
Well, ‘challenge is a privilege’. That was what his uncle used to say. Those not facing challenges could not grow or evolve. In that sense, facing challenges was what eventually led to attaining fulfillment.
It was late at night as he was driving down the road. His mind cluttered with things he needed to finish in the next few days. As he further drove down the road, his heart suddenly pinched
“Wha.. What is this feeling?” He grabbed his chest with one hand on the wheel.
Suddenly his entire body felt weak. Then, just like a person isn't aware of the moment they fall asleep, his consciousness left him.
---
A woman was continuously stamping her leg on the floor. She did this whenever she was nervous. But, this time the stamping was continuous and she was very restless. Every passing second felt slow to her.
A male doctor walked out of the emergency room and glanced over at the woman, walking towards her.
“There is no need to worry, he is fine”
“Oh my.. God” tears flowed down her eyes then she said “Thank you so much !”
The woman rushed into the room. When she walked in, she stopped for a moment and all her anxiousness disappeared.

A man with black curly hair was laying on the bed, his eyes half closed as he was looking out of the window staring at the huge skyscrapers. Then he noticed someone in the room.
“Mother” Gray muttered with a large smile on his face
The woman stopped stamping her legs immediately. She then rushed towards Gray and sat down next to the bed.
“You stupid brat ! You should have your eyes on the road. How many times have I told you to not talk on the phone while driving?” She said while crying
Gray was still smiling, he felt lucky to be alive
A nurse then came in and told Gray to rest for a couple of days. Then she asked him to briefly explain what happened.
“I don't know” Gray said while thinking back to what had happened. It franky felt to him like one moment he was driving the car and then the next moment he woke up in a hospital bed. He felt there was no sense of time for what happened in between, it was difficult to explain.
The nurse then said “You have broken several bones, most are still minor fractures.” She then paused and continued “But, your hand has a major fracture you will need to do physiotherapy for some time to heal it”. The nurse then explained to him in more detail.
A doctor peeked into the room and then called for the nurse, she left the room.
“Everything will be alright Gray, you just have to work on your body until it has healed again” His mother was trying to encourage him.
Gray was very tired, he was half listening. His mother then left the room, she needed to start working again to afford the hospital bills. She was not angry or sad about the family's financial situation, instead, she was happy to help her son out after all these years.

It was late at night, Gray woke up feeling refreshed. He then got up from the bed and started walking to use the restroom. As he walked in the bathroom he had a sudden realisation.
‘Wait, didn't the doctor say that I had broken many bones?” He felt his entire body and started stretching.
‘This is weird, how come I don't feel anything?’
He then sat on the hospital bed and switched on his phone. He wanted to search up some of the things the nurse had said before. However, something caught his eye.
“Beings of another planet? Monsters attack the southernmost district !”
What the hell? He then read the story.
It seemed that there were human sized monsters attacking the southernmost district. There was also a video attached in the article.
The monsters were eating many humans and rampaging around the city. He could hardly believe it.
Then he heard a voice inside his head say "Hello Gray". The voice was deep and felt powerful.
Then he read "Character Info"
The world completely changed, and he changed along with it as well.

I will not be eaten
Litchi is your ordinary Royal Road addict. She can’t resist the call of a new chapter even when she needs to work. Because of too many new responsibilities she promises one week without reading. Sadly, she cracks in three days, because of an Azarinth Healer notification. Taking out her phone she starts avidly reading. It’s just a small promise, she will try it another time. Nothing should happen. Say that to the goblin that tries to eat your face, Litchi! You should keep your promise! She was used to food jokes on her name but it seems that this time her destiny is to be eaten. ---- Hello future reader! I didn’t find a new good isekai so why not create my own? I am an RR addict and amateur writer (in French) and today I decided to publish a story. You will have my eternal gratitude for any advice or constructive comments on the story! One of my objectives is to have developed characters, duo or trio make a fantastic way to character growth. So, I will try to create a deep relationship between a few of them. The first few chapters have a lot of combat, but other characters will soon arrive. Those first few chapters are made to build tension and create Litchi's first motivations. This story has the plot written to the end and important characters already shaped. This story is short in comparison to the majority of RR fantasy stories. Update every two days until I have no more chapters in my pocket. Average chapter length: 2200 words Warning: The grammar can be bad, IMPORTANT CHARACTERS CAN (Will) DIE, contain philosophical conversation as the characters stumble upon morals dilemmas. I hope I will see you soon in the comments and thank you in advance for reading Litchi’s journey. Have a nice day! :)
