《Cultivation Bug Fuyo》Chapter 5 - The cold claws of death

It was at this point that something swooped down from the sky. "Caw! Caw!" Giant talons wrapped around Fuyo and forcefully picked him up from the tree branch. He couldn't see what had grabbed him because of his fat and inconveniently sized body. He tried to turn his neck around but his body just didn't seem to want to turn that way. He was flying through the air and the ground was getting further and further away.
"Is it a bird? Am I really going to die? I only just got here. Dammit, this is an unfair start to life." This world was full of twist and turns. Inside he felt frustrated that bad things kept happening to him. "I thought bad things only come in threes? Isn't this a bit excessive." He yelled at the heavens. But it was no use because no one could hear him.
"What are you mumbling about down there? Your mama is really angry. You've done it this time. Just wait until we get home."
"Huh? This thing seems to know who I am. My mama, I have a mother?" He quietly thought to himself.
They continued to fly through the forest until a yellow diamond came into view. It was made of paper like material. Similar to the material you would find in a wasp nest. It was huge, thousands of meters across and hundreds of meters high. Fuyo noticed that there were hundreds of these along the borders hanging from giant trees. Each diamond had little holes scattered across them in the shape of a hexagon. These beehives were military barracks.
The entire area was covered by a yellow glow; it was like a force field of some kind. It didn't stop them from passing but Fuyo felt like he was drenched in thick honey when they passed through it.

"Okay, here's your stop." The creature that was carrying him let go and Fuyo began to fly through the air and fall to the ground. His head face planted into the soil, it was a less than elegant landing. When he looked up he saw the creature that had carried him away. It was a bee, no wait a crow? It was a crow and a bee. A giant black and orange crowbee, it wasn't like a normal bee or a normal crow. This crowbee had the body of a crow but it was stripey and had compound eyes like a bee.
He had a fearsome look on his face and scars all across his chest. He was obviously a veteran of war. He had a sharp beak, two bug eyes and two antennas; his entire body was orange and black from head to toe.
This was the first time Fuyo had seen a creature like this. It was completely shocking and as images continued to resurface in Fuyos mind he discovered that this mafia like scary looking guy was his own Godfather!
There were too many things to take in, he needed a reprieve, he needed time to digest this information but it didn't seem like he would get the chance, because at this moment a fat and plump honey bee flew down from the sky. His wings fluttered and pushed as he struggled to keep himself in the air. He had a snout for a nose and tusk protruding from his face. He looked almost boar like. Streams of sweat flowed down the side of his head.
The fat bee struggled to land safely and it triggered his past memories. Shibo?
"Of course it is I, Shibo the great Pigbee. Who else could it possibly bee? But plump old Pigbee me." He smiled as he laughed with an expression that said "I am the most entertaining person in the world." Fuyo smiled, he liked this personality, it was vibrant and interesting. As a man of politics he had very little interactions with eccentric people like Shibo. From the images he just saw it would turn out this fatty is actually his friend.

The structure and hierarchy of bee society was complex and unfamiliar.
Shibo belonged to the Pigbee clan, his Godfather Don Corleone was a member of the Crowbee clan and Fuyo belonged to the Caterbee Clan. There were many different factions among the bees and they were separated into different garrisons based on their rank. Some bloodlines had stronger and more dominant traits, this lead to a natural hierarchy with some bloodlines reigning over the others. For example, the Pigbee clan is extremely powerful, their bodies are heavy and their muscles are proud.
"Haha, you got caught sneaking out again. Did you find him?" Shibo asked.
"Wait, who was I looking for again?''
"Your father silly, did you slip and hit your head?" He laughed.
"Indeed, I seem to have hit my head pretty hard."
Shibo looked up at down Fuyos body and noticed the various cuts, bruises and dried up blue blood. This made fatty mad.
"Grr, was it those three again?" He went into a mad rage. Fuyo watched fatty's emotions surge to the surface, they were genuine. He started jumping and down on the flowers, he was obviously heavier than he looked because each jump caused the earth to crack and shake slightly.
Fuyo thought to himself, "This fatty is definitely a trustworthy person, his personality is eccentric but he is simple and straight forward. Its decided, he will be the first general of my bug army."

Fallout: Vault X
An original novel set in the Fallout universe, written to be accessible to all, featuring unique people and places. Vol.II. out now Fallout: Vault X tells the story of John. A vault dweller, who spent every day of his twenty five years underground. Like his father, and his father before him. Proud to live in the last remaining bastion of humanity, all that survived The Great War of the atomic age. Hidden deep below the surface of the earth, toiling under brutal conditions. Year after year, decade upon decade. All to expand into the natural cave system the Vault occupied, building for the future. However, John knew what his forefathers did not, that everything he’d been taught was a lie. After finishing school at the age of ten, John received his standard issue pipboy. An arm mounted personal computer, worn by everyone in the Vault. Used to coordinate the relentless pace of expansion, needed to work as an apprentice. To learn the craft that would be his life’s work. A noble calling to ensure a future for all that remained of the human race. A quirk of fate saw John equipped not with the crude, clunky, pipboy model his father wore. That almost everyone around him wore. His looked smaller, sleeker, finished in a jet black sheen. And capable of doing far more than its drab counterparts. The world above had been ravaged by atomic flames, yet life clung to its bones. The Red Valley fared better than most in the century since the bombs fell. The clean water and rich soil protected by rolling hills. All spared from direct strikes, for the most part. Life survived here. Trees spawned from charred ground, misshapen, green leaves turned red. Along with simple crops, grown wild at first, then cultivated by the survivors. The scavengers of the old world were inventive, hardy people. All determined to rebuild in the ruins of a world they never knew. In the decades that passed settlements emerged. They grew, spreading along the valley floor. Reclaiming the pre-war remnants of the once industrialised heartland. Salvaging the robotic wonders of a bygone age to build their walls and work their fields. To protect them in the dark of the wasteland. But such things are uncommon in this world, and the rarer something is, the greater its value. And the worth of pre-war technology had not gone unnoticed. The last, real, power in this world rested in the mechanised hands of The Brotherhood of Steel. Forged from the mortally wounded old world military. The Brotherhood used its access to the weapons made for a conflict no one won to strike out into the wastes. Men and women were equipped with advanced armour, aerial transportation, high grade weaponry. Accompanied by the training, strength, and will, to put them to use. They established chapters and set up outputs far and wide. All dedicated to a single purpose. To ensure the technology left abandoned by its long dead creators didn’t fall into the wrong hands. Namely, any hands that were not their own. This is the world John escaped into. A place of horrors brought forth from atomic fire. A place where survival meant battling against the darkness. Fighting a war each day to get to the next. And war...war never changes
