《I can summon my past lives》29- The road to the Dao of Virtue - Part 2 -

"Perhaps this weird lion is telling the truth.." Damian Kaz thought after pondering over it for a time. The fact that the lion was sentient was a red flag in and of itself. He couldn't ignore that even if he tried.
...but that truth seemed a bit...too far fetched for Damian's taste.
"I am the eighth life? And all my previous lives spent their lives learning some nonsense because you told them to? Were they retarded? ...and I'm supposed to fuse with those retards?" Damian looked at the lion with an 'are you serious?' look.
The white lion said angrily, "You think that I, Xerxes, have nothing better to do than babysit you for eight lives? No. I volunteered myself to save the Planeverse from you. Outside this pocket universe, there's your real body that's on the verge of eating everything that exists. If you do not take things seriously, in ten years, everything that has ever existed will cease to exist. You will die. Your mother will also die because you chose not to listen. Is that what you want? You must at least care for her."
At the thought of his mother dying, he felt his soul shudder.
If the Lion was right, then in ten years…
Also, Damian was terrified that he didn't have the talent required to pull off whatever was expected of him.
"Do...do you have any proof of what you say?" Damian asked.
In the next moment the images of a very hungry dragon were shown to him.
He saw how everyone was helpless against it.
He saw its greedy and angry eyes.
He felt terrified, "How in God's name am I supposed to beat that? And you said that's me? But my soul is clearly human…"
The white lion said,"You do not need the strength to beat it, you only need the ideal state of mind to control its urges."

‘State of mind, huh’ Damian thought. “When do we start?”
The lion smiled, “We’ve already started. Asking that question shows me that you have some courage in you. You’re willing to fight against agony and pain in a state of danger and uncertainty. That’s the first step of gaining the courage domain. In the next years, your body and soul will be tried until you finally fuse with your past life who got the entire courage domain. Whether you can weather pain, hardship, the threat of death, and acting rightly in the face of scandal and shame, will shape you into being the one that’s needed for the courage domain.”
“It’s that easy?” Damian said.
“Did you hear what I said? You will be tried...prepare yourself.” The lion said.
Damian then asked a question that had been bothering him for a long time, “Mr. Xerxes, do you know what the book and golden angel do?”
“The Golden angel, if you integrate it into your soul, can give you the ability to wield Luck. You will be lucky and anyone you touch will gain some luck as well.” Xerxes said.
“What about its sword?” Damian asked.
“Of course it’s for killing. I think the sword can be controlled with your mind though, but I’m just speculating from the information I was given by your...God.” Saying it was his son, Chronos, to a sixteen years who had no knowledge of it would’ve brought so many questions his way, so Xerxes refrained from saying so.
“And the book?” Damian reminded.
“Oh the book...the seven first black pages contain your previous lives in this universe. I believe that you already know that you have three slots for Requiem Servants for now. A requiem servant is a dead person or beast that you resurrect by sincerely ‘paying respect’ to their corpse or relic. They will then be stored in a page of the book to be summoned when you need them.” Xerxes said.

Damian then remembered the phrase that was at the last page of the white book : Pay Respect To The Dead And You Shall Both Find Salvation.
“Oh, I almost forgot. You’ll get an ability that allows you to create anything your imagination can give birth to with the golden angel.” Xerxes said.
“Isn’t this a bit too overpowered for a mortal like me? What if I go pay respect to the Heavenly Wolf corpse in the Heavenly Wolf temple of the heavenly wolf clan of the Dark Continent? Won’t I have the previous Dark Lord as my servant by then? And what if I imagined a mountain of gold? Won’t I be the richest man in the world?” Damian was already elated thinking about all the things that he will be able to do.
Xerxes shook his head, “Do you think that a frail human like you will be able to get past the entire Heavenly wolf clan and get to the corpse? And do you even know how Gold is made? Do you know what gold is composed of? For your imagination to create something you need to understand what you are creating at a deeper level to make it like it’s real, or you’ll just create defective, unstable things.”
“No way...” Damian’s dreams had been crushed before he even tried.
“But, I admire your courage. I was told that you would be immortal in your eighth life. Let’s go see how many times you die before you get to the Heavenly Wolf temple. Heheheh.” Xerxes had a cunning look in his eyes.
Damian didn’t like the look he was getting, “You...you are not serious are you?”
Before Damian could say anything else, he found himself floating above a majestic city. If one looked closely, even with the eternal dark clouds above, you could see an enormous wolf head made of obsidian at the entrance of what looked like a temple.
Xerxes then inhaled deeply and exhaled saying, “Is this the rumored Heavenly Wolf Clan? How you’ve declined. This time I’ve come to relieve you of your ancestor’s corpse. I will dissect it and refine it into many treasures. I must thank you all for keeping it safe for me. Hahahaha.” His booming voice could be heard in the entire city.
Before long, a cloud of half-wolves half-men, even complete wolves, floated to the sky. Their anger had reached an incredible degree. In a mere moment, Damian and Xerxes were surrounded.
“F*ck me!” said Damian. He immediately integrated with the Golden Angel and then a Golden Sword appeared and floated around him like the Requiem Book.

Suddenly, a succubus
The protagonist is a personality like an iceberg: introspective, asocial and completely uninterested in the world and its people beyond necessity. Approaching ships beware! A succubus, on the other hand, lives for desire and interaction, playing mortal hearts like a fiddle. These clearly mix like oil and water, so what do you get when you combine them? This is a story of that kind of emulsion. *** Completed with 62 chapters + epilogue (total of 111k words). *** This novel is bit of an experiment for me. I haven't written fiction before, for one. I also chose a character context that I normally wouldn't, and let the characters drive the story, especially in the beginning. Overall the main focus will be the main character's own story rather than the events of the world. The setting itself uses many familiar fantasy elements, though I plan to add my own twists. Note that I'm not really planning to write any steamy scenes, despite the said character context being literal demons of lust and all. There are of course jokes and scenes that skirt around the subject, but this is not a romance story of any kind. So, is it a mess? Probably. But I hope it's an entertaining one at that.

One where his race, which once reigned supreme, is treated like trash along the roadside. Will he, with his diverse crew, be able to save the galaxy while fixing the hostility between the races?
