《I can summon my past lives》28- The road to the Dao of Virtue - Part 1 -

Diana Kaz was anxiously waiting for his son to come home. She hoped that her son could inherit the genes of his father and escape the curse to get a Companion Soul.
When she saw him approaching from a distance with a white lion in tow, her eyes watered. She was sure that the white lion was Damian’s companion soul.
He ran towards her and she also ran towards him.
What ensued was a teary bear hug.
“Mom, guess how many companion souls I have?” Damian asked, mysteriously.
“What? More than one?” she was surprised beyond words, ‘what kind of devil’s luck is this?’she thought.
Damian then showed her three fingers with his free hand as the other hand hugged the white book to his chest.
He then summoned the golden angel and released the book from his hold.
The three companion souls were unique in their own way and his mother was bewildered beyond words.
“If only your father could see you right now.” she murmured.
Hearing that, Damian was incensed, he thought, ‘She still thinks about that shameless dog who left us without a dime?’
He lightly shook his head and then recalled the golden angel as it attracted too much attention with its golden light that looked like a beacon even during the day.
“Let’s go home, mom. I want to see what these companion souls can do. And then I’ll journey to the Dark continent to hunt Godbeasts. Soon, we won’t have to live in this rundown house.” Damian said.
His mother felt as if a knife had pierced her heart. Her son was going to fight the dreadful Godbeasts to allow them to have better living conditions. ‘What if he disappeared like his father? What would I do then?’

She knew that she couldn’t stop her son from living his life. It would be selfish especially after he had it rough his entire life. She knew he had been bullied but said nothing to her. She thought he was being incredibly mature for his age and trusted that one day he’ll find the strength to fight back.
As they got back home, in the town square, the summonings had ended and all participants had gained a companion soul each.
Damian had been the only one to gain three companion souls in the entire day all over the Saint continent and Divine Light planet.
In a lavish room, old Marley was kneeling before a Middle aged man, Pope Pontius Eventus who was deeply frowning.
The Pope said, “You’re not to blame. His accomplishment made him arrogant and blind to the truth. I’ll give you another chance. You’ll have unlimited funds and resources. You must make him join our ranks at all costs. Now go! I must consult the God Of Light about this Damian Kaz while you do your job. Perhaps, I’ll learn of his true destiny as the first triple companion soul, soul warrior.”
“Your wish is my command, your eminence.” Marley had cold sweat all over his body, he knew that he had just gained another lease on life as long as he succeeded.
He left as quickly as he could as the Pope closed his eyes and his whole body emitted a white immaculate light.
Back at Damian’s home, Damian had holed himself up in his room after his mom had gone to work.
The white lion was in a sitting position looking at him silently. It creeped him out.
“Hey, you’ve been looking at me since the beginning. You seem intelligent. Can you talk?” he tentatively asked the lion.

The lion just seemed to lightly smile, which scared Damian even more, ‘Was this lion really capable of understanding me? But every animal companion soul doesn’t talk or look intelligent, they are like that soulless golden angel.’
He heard the lion give a sigh and then he heard, “This is your eighth life in this world, there’s not much time left for you to even live a full life this time. You must succeed in the next ten years, or the world as you know it will cease to exist.”
“Wait! What? Eighth life? End of the world? What the heck is happening? Is this lion delusional? None of the things it says is rational.” Damian had his mouth agape as he looked at the Lion that now had a serious look instead of the aloof look it used to have. That change and the fact that it could talk had shocked Damian senseless. Not to mention the words that came out of its mouth.
“I’ve been teaching you my comprehension of the 7 domains under the Dao of Virtue. It can’t all be done in a single life even if you can live for roughly 300 years, so we came up with a plan. In 7 lives you will at least master one of the 7 domains {Justice, Prudence, Courage, Temperance, Faith, Hope and Charity.} And in the last life all you would need to do is get to the entry level of comprehension for each of them to unlock the corresponding past life and fuse with it. In the end all you would need is a push to gain The Complete Dao Of Virtue.” The lion said in one breath, “It sounds simple, but I had to work so hard in your past lives and I succeeded. Now it’s all up to your Luck.”
‘Fortunately, in this life, your son, Chronos, thought it best to give you back the Saint Son title you somehow gained without fusing with your reincarnation. That Golden angel is the only thing that can probably help us in this life. I hope that the luck of Empyrean Saints sons isn’t for show.’ it thought.

The Last Watcher
The Abyss Watchers. Once fully dedicated to hunting the Abyss, now cursed to fight their own members forever. One day though, while they are attacked by a mysterious warrior, a single Abyss Watcher is suddenly pulled through a tear in reality, transported to a new world. A world with a strange thing called a leveling system. Current update schedule: Tuesday 10:00 PM NZT Idea I had of an Abyss Watcher from Dark Souls 3 being transported into a LitRPG world. You don't have to know any of the lore from Dark Souls to understand this, however if you want to know more about the lore just google it or something, I can't stop you But it's not like it will be very useful in this story as I plan to not be focused on Dark Souls Lore. As a side note for those reading this while it is ongoing, I will occasionally go back to previous chapters and sometimes add certain elements to the skills and leveling. Not to worry though as I will tell you as to what I have edited in the authors notes, so be sure to pay attention to those when they appear as they may contain information required for continued understanding. Also, if you decide to drop this book then please leave a comment on the chapter you stopped on and tell me what made you stop.

The Runners of Westal
Anya Vorian wasn't picky. She'd take any apprenticeship that came her way. She, Lori and Andrew had prepared all winter for the interviews, but when only one offer came with her name on it, she suddenly wasn't so sure that she could do it. It was hard work, for one thing. It was dirty. They were respected, certainly, but in the sort of way that one respects a skilled plumber - grateful to have the job done, but glad it isn't your arms elbow deep in dung. In short, runners were odd folk. Maybe it was time to get fast. - A first-person tale inspired by long distance running.
