A load thud sound, as if someone fell was heard from the room next to mine. Due to such a sound I

woke up from my deep slumber, and rushed toward my mother’s room, because there is no one in

this house except me and my ill mother.

I opened the door, and inside that dark room I saw the silhouette of a women laying on the dark

brown wooden floor, it was mother’s.

I froze for a moment, and then I slowly walked toward her fearing the worst, and soon afterward

those fears disappeared when I heard her rough breathing and red cheeks.

Looking at such a sight I reflexively realized that she needs her medicine, so I said to her:

“Don’t worry Mom you’ll be alright!”

I tried to reassure her, but my voice was weak.

The closet, the wooden table in the middle of the room, the night stand, even the floor. I searched

every where and I couldn’t even find a single pill, all I found was a couple of empty containers. I

tried calling an ambulance, but my phone was dead, so I cursed the reason for my dead battery.

“Damn you ‘MeTube’!!”

My father is in a business trip, my phone is dead, and my mom’s phone is broken, the land line

phone is not working because the service provider is doing some repairs in the area. What should I

do? What could I do? These thought took over my mind.

No, I still can save mom. After slapping my cheeks, a hopeful thought emerged. I took my mother’s

wallet that was laying on top of the table, rushed back into my room and rushed back to my own

room, changed into the closest clothes I could find, and rushed outside.

The outside was slightly dark, I looked at my wrist watch, it was 5:30 in the morning, I ran toward

the main street to call out a cap, after three very long minutes I found one.

“The nearest pharmacy, please hurry!”

“Oh, lady! It’s 5:34 in the morning of the founding holiday, there is no pharmacies, clinics, or

hospitals open nearby.”

“No way!”

when I thought all hope is gone, the taxi driver said:

“But, there is a 24 open pharmacy in District X14.”

I thought the driver grinned, but It must be my imagination. District X14 sounds familiar. I thought.

“Okay! GO!!!”

I yelled, and the driver hit the peddle.

Why, I an executive in the notorious TK gang have to drive a taxi this early?

I understand the plan of ‘Brainz’, finding runaway brats and the like, and then transporting them to

our guys in X14… but, it’s still a pain in the neck.

Oh! a customer, and such a pretty young girl, must be my lucky day.

“The nearest pharmacy, please hurry!”

A pharmacy this early. Hm, her clothes are a miss, and she doesn’t look sick; she must needs some

medicine for someone close to her. OK, let’s kill some hopes First.

“Oh, lady! It’s 5:34 in the morning of the founding holiday, there is no pharmacies, clinics, or

hospitals open nearby.”

“No Way!”

Oi! she didn’t even notice such obvious lie… Now the finishing blow.

“But, there is a 24 open pharmacy in District X14.”

“Okay! GO!!!”

She took the bait, What an idiot! And I don’t even need to put her to sleep.

I stealthy pulls out my phone and sends them a text message.
