《Heart Of A Servant》Chapter 28 : As you wish

The violet-eyed white bird looked at me with a smugness that couldn’t be hidden no matter how much it tried.

My move of begging and complimenting the white bird proved to be working.

“Alright....Alright, stop! I feel kinda generous today. I would be disobeying my creator by doing this, but he isn’t here to monitor me anymore…he abandoned me.” The white bird said with a depressed look which conflicted with its smug look.

Of course, hearing those words made me the happiest man alive. I now knew that my freedom was imminent.

A white energy came out of the bird’s body as it said, “Let’s start by undoing your seal…but…are you sure you want to get rid of it?”

Puzzled, I asked, “What do you mean?”

“For a low-level seal, it was smartly made. It can grow in strength at the same time as you grow in strength. As the physical representation of the seal in the real world, the seal will repair the copper ring no matter what kind of damage is done to it. Those two things are the ones that you fear the most, but if you think that’s all there is, then you’re gravely mistaken. There’s another feature your sealer put in to ensure that you’ll remain sealed forever. That feature is that when your soul is destroyed, it will activate the seal inside it and recreate itself from its scattering pieces just like your copper ring…You understand now? Because of your seal, you’re basically immortal.” The white bird paused for a few seconds before it continued, “Now, I ask you again. Do you want to undo the seal?”

Knowing that my sealer made me immortal just so I could be sealed forever made me so mad that I couldn’t think clearly.

To think that I used to want to embrace death hoping for my soul to escape this meaningless life.

But it was a hard choice to make.

On one hand, I would be finally free and become mortal. On the other, my soul would still be sealed, but I would stay immortal, at least in soul form.

I closed my eyes for a moment and then made my choice. It seemed I would never leave the shadow of my sealer, Mark, behind.

I had chosen to remain immortal.

“I’ll keep the seal. Give me a new body…preferably a body of a Magus god.” I said to the white bird.

“I can do better. I can infuse you with as many Prime laws as you want. But I am curious, why didn’t you ask for a God Body? It would certainly help you and your friends for the future.” The white bird said.

I was perplexed, “What’s a God?”

The bird said, “I’m the first god that you’ve met, so it’s normal that you don’t know about them. Listen. A God is someone who’s fused with a Prime law instead of having just barely comprehended it. The God is the Prime law itself. And you’d have to have used the Origin energy as a powersource instead of mana to become a God. Powersources like mana are many in the universe and are too weak in energy output to allow the ascension to Godhood. Only Origin energy can sustain the energy consumption of a God. In fact, most of the spells I create are made with Origin energy in mind as a powersource.”

“Make me a god then,” I said.

It was at that moment that I saw a white energy that looked like milk come out of the white bird and then enveloped it. In the next second the bird asked: “As a God, you can only fuse with one Prime law, but you’re allowed to comprehend as many prime laws as you want. Now choose. What would you like to fuse with and what would you like to comprehend?”

It was a tough question, because I didn’t have that much knowledge about Prime laws myself. I could only think of one Prime law I could choose: The prime law of light.

The reason why I was choosing to fuse with that law was so I could be a perfect counter for Kyle’s dangerous alter ego if he ever went on a rampage. For some reason, I felt responsible for both of them and I dreaded the day their personalities would intertwine and become one. By that time Kyle would have to become an evil being capable of the most unimaginable atrocities.

“I choose to fuse with the Prime Law of light… And instead of comprehending other prime laws, I want you to copy your entire library of spells into my mind. Adjust the level of my soul to allow the influx of information into my mind.” I asked.

“As you wish.” The white bird said as the white milky energy filled the room.

For once, it felt good to even imagine I could ask for what seemed like the impossible.
