《Heart Of A Servant》Chapter 24 : An angry Red Dragon

"Give me back my family!" A teary-eyed huge red dragon said. Its tears resembled boiling hot lava.

I could understand its pain, but I didn't sympathize with it.

It's true that I had decimated all the family it had and even went beyond what one would call normal genocide...but at the end of the day, it was just a means to an end. I really had no choice...at least that's how I felt.

Before the Shadow had killed all the Magus Gods present, the triplets finally had enough time to destroy the ring rendering me visible to the naked eye.

I held the Magus Stone in my hands as I enjoyed my newfound freedom. Finally, I could live my ghost life without being constrained by a mere copper ring.

I watched all the miscellaneous items I had hoarded throughout my long life with a distant eye. Of all the things that had come out of the ring when it had exploded, only the Magus Stone had value in my eyes.

My elation was short-lived as just before I heard the gigantic red dragon's voice, I saw bits of copper coming from all over the place regrouping into the form of a ring. The dragon's voice was heard and I turned invisible feeling the Sealing Matrix deep in my soul throbbing once more.

The ring now looked even newer than before. I could've sworn I was hearing the distant triumphant smirk of my sealer, wherever he was at that moment.

Of course, all of those events couldn't escape the dragon's notice no matter how much magma tears it had in its eyes.

"You think you can hide from me? I sensed your aura on my dead children's corpses. I can still sense it now even if you just turned yourself invisible. Don't think that you can cheat a tier 9 being like myself." The dragon said. Its humungous body was now clad in a beautiful scarlet fire. It seemed it was being boosted by the fire gaining even more unbelievable speed despite its size.

In the blink of an eye, the dragon was already in front of us. Seeing it from that close, I was starting to lose faith in what a Prime Law of Darkness could do against it.

At one hundred meters of height, it looked like a small mountain. I wasn't even talking about the searing heat it exuded. That heat was threatening to forcefully disperse my soul.

The Shadow wasn't doing any better. After almost being burned down to a crisp, and seeing that the vampire blood couldn't keep up with the regeneration of his burned cell, the Shadow initiated Darkness Transmutation and turned into a black smoke humanoid that was impervious to fire.

I saw the dragon inhale all the mana in a radius of ten kilometers and I only had less than a second to take refuge inside the copper ring before the red dragon exhaled a torrential fire on us.

I had always believed that the ring couldn't be destroyed externally but it seemed that the fire was above what it could withstand. I watched as it started melting away and I believed I would soon follow.

Of course, asking the Shadow to save me was a lost cause. Asking an evil being to save someone from certain death was the same as asking a blind man if he could see. In short, it would take a miracle to be saved from this.

As I counted my last seconds of life, I felt that something was different. The ring had turned into black smoke and yet I was still alive. Everything indicated that the Darkness Transmutation ability had been used.

Nothing could burn the black element that the ring had been turned into.

What was even more alarming was that I had benefited from an act of kindness from an evil person. It was difficult to understand.

As the dragon finished spewing its fire, it revealed a satisfied smile before that same smile froze as it watched the Shadow regain its humanoid black smoke body.

The Shadow then proceeded to snap its fingers and then multiple wounds appeared on the red dragon as it fell from the sky.

The blood coming out of it looked like a small river that slowly turned into a small lake.

The Shadow then turned into its fleshy state as it healed from its previous injury saying, "Do you need me to come and fetch you? Don't you need it alive? What are you waiting for?"

The Shadow was talking to me. I realized that the ring had regained its metallic luster and then came out.

Without the ring on its body or around itself, the Shadow had no way of knowing that I had come out, but I felt that it knew I was there.

After the copper ring was destroyed the first time, all the mana inside had dispersed into the surroundings.

I had no mana to complete the spell, but I could tap into the dispersing mana pool of the dying dragon.

I summoned a drop of blood from Kyle's body and was surprised to see that it was a drop of white blood. The same as the refined blood of the seventeen billion beasts that I had killed.

Once everything was in order I then released and chanted the spell, "Mirror Incarnation. Use this flesh and blood to construct your own body and appear before us..."
