The crossbow is really a fantastic invention. You see the crossbow made training archers partially obsolete. You can never replace real archers though, a good archer can pull off two or three shots in the time it takes to reload a crossbow. Traditionally they have been used while firing in formation, a single crossbow in and of itself isn't that deadly you see. The reload times on those things aren't that great you see, one shot and then you are fucked. 

As Sir Walter and I stand there with out mouths agape, a FIRE rings out. I took this as my cue to do the noblest thing I could think of. Jump behind Walter and hope the arrows don't get through the back half of his armor. *clang* *ting* *skiddlybop* Okay, I admit, the skiddlybop didn't happen. But the rest of the sounds are real, honest.

After the bolts stop I do a quick check, both arms, both legs, both eyes, both... things, and everything seems safe and unpierced. I should get the hell out of here, again I know this happens alot, stop judging me. Fuck they seem to notice me, uh, stall them. So guys, uh, now that you've killed the knights you won't be needing me right? *silence* Well, maybe they aren't talkers. Hmm, I really need to think my way out of this one. It's at this moment I had an epiphany.

Bombs are pretty cool things. That's why I made one, looking back if I had thought to use this thing earlier I could have kept Walter and his men alive. But I'm more of a forward thinking kind of guy, best not to look back on the past after all. While they seem to be silently reloading their crossbows, I slowly shuffle over to my where my bag fell while trying to get behind Walter. Alright, just grab the bomb, throw it, send a pulse of mana, and don't look back. Ready, set, what the fuck?

Suddenly Sir Walter, stands up, he doesn't seem perturbed by the few bolts sticking out of his chest. He then charged the line of bowmen and started slashing them willy nilly. I was a bit surprised to say the least. However, I wasn't as surprised as those crossbowmen, they were scared to death, literally.
