Kate, Kasey, Claire, and I then started to head to the guild after we have eaten our breakfast

Upon entering the guildhall, I told them to stay at the table and wait till I come back, except Kasey, since she would usually cling on to me almost everywhere I went

While I was across the quest board, I found one that caught my eye

It was similar to Claire’s quest, it was hand-drawn

I decided to grab the quest without seeing its contents, thinking that would be another escort mission

Taking it to the reception table, I see the women once again

“Are you sure you're taking this one today?” the receptionist asked

Regretting myself that if this quest may be a dud even though the guild checks it and feeling guilty if I reject the quest and leaving the contractor hanging in danger

Since my guilt was heavier than my regret, I took the quest, possibly knowing that I would regret it

“Ok then!” as she stamps and signs the quest for approving of taking the quest

She hands the quest to me and I took it

“Alright!”

I headed over to the table where Kate and Claire were sitting and there I saw a party of adventurers, surprisingly all-male going around them convincing them both to join their party

“Hey, do you want to join our party” Party adventurer 1 said

“Yeah, we will be having so much fun,” party adventurer 2 said

“I think we are good, we are already in a party” Claire responded

“Yeah!” Kate agrees

“Aww, come on, I bet that whoever you are partying with is as strong as Manba,” the 3rd one said

Just as he said that a fourth adventurer came in, he was very disgustingly muscular and tall, with an eyepatch with one eye, assuming that he lost an eye in battle. He had an axe in one hand and a giant sword on his back, he also wears barbaric armour and has a thick black beard

“If you join us, Manba will protect you, fine ladies,” Manba said as he points at himself

Kate and Claire were both in disgust as he had a very deep yet sluggish voice

“I think we are still ok,” Kate said in disgust

“Hey, Kate, Claire, you ok!” Yasu comes in

“You came at the worst, yet best time possible” Claire murmured

The party of men all had their eyes on me, with a piercing look

“So what are you guys, doing to my party” I looked at each one of them

“We are just looking for more party members, how about we do a duel to get these 2 women,” the 2nd one said

“Why would I, they are in my party”

“How dare you say that to our C-ranked leader”

Manba then stand up, “So do we duel or do we not” he gave me a threatening look, but it wasn’t compared to Athena looks”

“Nah, I think I am still good”

“NO! I, THE HERO, TELL YOU TO DO THIS DUEL!”

Everyone then whispered many things

“The hero is permitting a duel”

“Wow, he is so cool”

“I wonder if I can be at his party…”

“Goddamn it, now I can’t reject that or I would possibly be hated by the guild”

“Heh, what are you going to do now, punk” Manba said

“Yeah” as the hero walks to Manba

“So you were working with him” I replied

“And what is wrong about that, I wanted to get my revenge by having Manba do it for me as I am too strong to take you on, making the match unfair,” the hero said

That then allowed me to remember, how I defeated him, but I had confidence that I would still beat the hero as I have gotten stronger

“Alright, I will accept this duel, but if I win, you will get out of this kingdom as well as strip yourself of the hero”

“HEY! You can’t do that” the audience said

“Yeah!” others replied

The commotion then grew larger, until the hero spoke up

“Alright, I will accept those conditions, but if I win, I will make your party mine”

“Wait, what?!” Claire replied

“Alright” I replied

Kate then said the same thing that Claire said and looked at me

“Are you stupid?!” Claire said

“If I am the party of this man, I would rather die”

“Just shut up” I replied

And that she did

After the commotion stopped and the agreement was arranged, we immediately headed to the arena, where I head my first fight against the hero

Once we entered the ring, the referee spoke up

“This will be a fight between Yasu and the group of adventurers, -”

“Hey, wait a minute, I thought that only one person would be fighting”

“Well, you can also use your party”

“Alright, then I would use my par-”

“You can’t!” the hero said

Once she finished the talk, 3 adventurers started to rush towards me and were split with one on my left, right, and middle to surround me

The one in the middle made the first strike, but of course, I didn’t hit as my ability protected me, though it would only work if only one person is attacking per hit, if the attack was simultaneous I would have to block one, well my passive blocks the other

“What?!” the middle one said

“How came I can’t hit you”

“He cheated!” the hero spoke up

“Did you see that everyone, he cheated and this is how he won during the last match” as he shouted to the audience

Everyone then started to whisper in agreement to the hero

“So that is why he won”

“Yeah, he cheated that is why he won against the hero”

Kate and Claire spoke up to this, “NO! HE ISN’T CHEATING, HE IS USING THE ART OF THE UNSEEN BLADE”

“Ha, like anyone would believe that, since no one that has taken the arts come out alive”

“True, true,” some of the audience said

“Wait, really?!”

“Now that we have seen him cheating in action, we can now declare the winner”

The referee didn’t say anything as she continued to watch the battle

Seeing that the referee didn’t say anything, I continued combat, luckily the 3 adventurers weren't paying attention as they were waiting for the announcement of the winner and was looking at the ref and me

I quickly hit every single one, with the back of my hilt, so that we would avoid any unnecessary casualties

After knocking out the first 3 adventurers, I headed for the hero to get him out first, but before I could hit him with my sword, I was blocked with Manba, as he took out both this giant axe and sword

“Look, Manba is using his sword AND his axe”

“Wow, what a rare sight to see”

“What is so special about this?” Kate asked

“Oh, and who fights Manba while he has his 2 weapons out never live to tell the tale”

As Kate heard this, she wanted to shout to tell Yasu but has the feeling that telling him would interfere with the battle, meaning that she stood quiet

“Dual Wielding?”

“I think I can win, do to the weight of the weapons”

Manba started to charge with his weapons ready to smash Yasu

Yasu gets ready for his quick draw, then he realized that this move would probably kill him, so he had to change his plans

Manba struck and hit the ground as I dodged his sword while my passive blocked his axe, though I felt the height of the hit affect me (this must be one of the flaws of my passive)

Even though I have a speed advantage, I don’t know if I would be able to do much damage by attacking him with just the back of my hilt, so I had to use my sheathed sword to attack him and do I did

Doing this, however, limits the number of things I can do, so I ditched the idea and unsheath my sword, revealing Kurokisei

This excited Manba as he charged in for another attack, I fortified my sword with wind and waited for the moment

Manba first struck with his axe and my passive blocked it, but not the force of it has it pushed me down, but I still stood my ground

Next Manba then swung this sword and at this time, I used my sword, to cut not block the attack

My attack was sharp and precise that I was about to cut his sword

Manba immediately realized this and back off and throwing his sword to his side as he proved no use to him anymore

Now he is using 2 hands to hold the axe instead of one, allowing him to do more damage and force

“No way, he made Manba back off!” whispers the crowd

Disregarding the comments of the audience, I focused on Manba

This time Manba didn’t charge at me, he instead threw the axe at me, which I easily blocked with my passive, but once my eyes were focused on the axe Manba charged at a faster speed and punched it

My passive couldn’t block it as it was blocking the axe, I was knocked several feet, but once I stood my ground another attack came, and this time my passive didn’t help block my attack, so I got hit with the axe as the cut went from my left should down to my waist in a diagonal slash.

“Why wouldn’t my passive block it for me”

The wound was swallow, though if he does one more attack I would die

Due to my loss of blood, my mind began being hazy

“This triggered my rage” as I quickly ran and dodged Manba and went straight to the hero getting ready to cut him down

This was shocking as Manba was never scared of anything, which led him to become a B-ranked

Having little mercy, I gave Manba a cut in the back as for pay for his cut on my chest

I then collapsed as I have lost too much blood as well as I have moved way too much

“The winner… Yasu!” as the referee stated

Kate and Claire rushed to Yasu as he was unconscious

“Anyway, what happened to his previous party?”

“Is it that important to know what happened to his party?” Claire said

“I mean look at what you have down to him”

“Can’t someone just revive him”

“You do have a point… hey that isn’t the point here, the point is that your kill devastated and many people”

“I mean look around you”

“All I see are the healers and priests, who don’t look scared of the kill I made and are busy reviving him”

“...Anyway let's go back” as Kate supported me while I started to walk back

“Hey! Wait a minute” One of the priests asked

“What did you do to the hero?”

“Oh I just sliced him in half, that is all”

“Then how come he isn’t healing?” as he points at the hero’s dead body

I decided to take a look with the help of Kate

And there I saw the hero died, as well as 3 healers attempting to revive him

“Uh, sir, the revival process doesn’t seem to work,” One of the healers told the priest

“And why is that?” the priest replied

“It seems that there is a black substance that is preventing the healing of the hero”
