"Tch."
Adelmarus scoff as he walks down an alley, carrying a briefcase. Following him were two bodyguards. Arriving at an open space with dumpsters overfilled with trash, with a door next to it. Opening the door revealed gangsters surround a table with their leader sitting on a chair. That gangsters' leader look at Adelmarus and said, "You got the goods?"
Adelmarus nod took a seat on the other chair and sets the briefcase on the table. He opens the briefcase, revealing bags that contain black powders. The gang leader smile and ask, "So,10 gold and 150 silver coins as usual?"
"No."
The gang leader's brows furrow as his smile turns into a frown. "What do you mean no?"
Adelmarus closes the briefcase. "You have been a naughty little boy and hasn't paid back the money you owe us. So, the cost for today's goods will be 200 gold coins." He said as he began scanning everyone in the room.
"2-200 gold coins! That's outrageous!" The gang leader yells angry but calm when Adelmarus stare at him. "L-Look, I'll pay back the coins later so can we just do the usual price?"
Adelmarus shakes his head as he wag his finger at the gang leader. "You promise you'll pay us back the money in 5 months. 5 months later and we don't see money being paid back so, the price is non-negotiable, Bruno."
The gang leader's eyes begin to turn bloodshot as black veins began to pop out of his forehead. "Please. I -I have don't have the money right now but I can get the money a week later." He begs. His hands were shaking, noticing the state their boss was in, the gang members became uneasy and begin whispering among themselves. Bruno turns to face them and yell at them to shut up.

Adelmarus just stare at him, his face staying the same as Bruno begs. "How many times do I have to tell you this. You didn't pay us back since the price is higher and is non-negotiable."
Bruno's look turns to despair as more black veins appear.
"But..."
Bruno's face turns hopeful.
"...You can repay us through another mean." Adelmarus said.
"R-Really? What is it?" Bruno ask.
Adelmarus spread his arms wide. "Why by serving Madame Keres of course!"
"I'll do it!" Bruno said.
"You're sure?"
"Yes!"
"I see," Adelmarus said rest his chin on his hand. He then turns to his bodyguards. "Kill them all." The two bodyguards nod.
"What?" Bruno said confuse.
Adelmarus face Bruno. "Don't worry you'll pay off your debt by serving Madame when you're dead meatbag. Now if you excuse me I have a call to make." He stood up and began to walk out.
Bruno opens his mouth to said something but was unable to do so before being killed by one of the bodyguards whose arms have now turn into blades while the other's turn into guns.
"Fuck!"
"I'll kill you!"
*Few Minutes Later."
"Yes everything is cleared, just send in the cleanup crew to help retrieve the bodies and clean up the blood and entrails you got that. Good." Adelmarcus hung up. One of his bodyguards walks up to him.
"Sir, all targets have been eliminated. Although this one has a question." The bodyguard report.
"What is it A-Lar-X2?" Adelmarcus ask.
"This one would like to ask what would happen to families of the targets?" A-Lar-X2 ask.
"Just kill them." Adelmarcus answers shrugging. "Just make sure it can't be traced back to us.
"Affirmative," A-Lar-X2 said.
"Good."
"Hey it seems that one of the major gang locates in Section C - 1 is gone." A guardsman said.
"So what? It's above our paygrade. Just ignore it."
"Good point."

8 199Nights of Sambria: And the Wish of Light
“I discovered a secret. One I desperately wish could have stayed hidden. It was locked away, concealed in a fantastical world on the doorstep of 7 billion people who stayed utterly oblivious to it. If they will be spared the terror that is coming, I can’t begin to imagine. Know that a forgotten heritage of a dwindling people whispered, unknowingly sending a call to the ancient mysteries of the world. Something listened. And now events are set in motion that could force the earth on a course of terrible change. I am being hunted and have run out of time. There were no stories about it. No legends. Not even scribbles. Yet, the threat of it is real and that’s why I’m writing this warning with shaking hands. So pay attention those who read this, be careful of what lies waiting cloaked in the darkness. That which made their home the lost places of this world.” She folded the letter with a shuddering breath and stared back in the direction from where the noise reverberated through the halls. It was of stone doors shattering one by one. The chances of getting out safely were all but gone. The letter in her hand was all warning they would have. It dropped into one of the Wells and all that could be done now was hope it was found in time, if at all. -- This was my very first large story. ;) I started writing it years ago. Was fun, was difficult, but in the end, it is a story I hope that will inspire. The prologue is in first person perspective and the rest of the story in 3d. Just a little heads-up :P It is a fantasy epic with a contemporary twist for the start. The first arc of the novel is set inside our modern world, but as the mysterious events around Calin intensifies, the hidden secrets in the world start to become more fantastical. The story follows Calin, a young orphan in search of answers. But, the answers he seeks will change his life and that of his friends forever, for the secrets that caused his situation have far greater ramifications than the small village of Lamb's Crest could have known. Remember to leave ratings and reviews. I'm quite interested in hearing your thoughts on the story. ;) Enjoy reading, Omri Hope
