"See the inn's much better now."
Lupin spread his arms wide, smiling as he gestured toward the new and improved inn. The inn was clean and was bigger than it was before it was rebuilt. Brick sighs, "I guess." The two then enter the inn. Drake was lazing on the couch, Lester and Cyan were playing cards with Basil watching.
Basil notices them and waves his arm at them. "Hi!"
This causes the other to face the two and said hello to them. The inside was bigger and the brand new TV was mounted onto the wall and some sofas and a coffee table was a place near the couch Drake was on.
Lupin still had his smile and face Brick. After a few seconds, Brick smile.
The door behind them then open revealing a man dress in a trench coat and a fedora walk in. "Mr. Brick, Mr. Dye, and the Bronze Turtles, I presume."
"That's us. What your business here." Lester said eyes narrow as he looks at the man.
The man held his hands. "Nothing bad, just here to inform you all that the guardsmen had found nothing on where the assassins come from or who send them."
"Well, we can safely say that the guardsmen are fucking useless," Lester said before turning back to his cards.
"Now, now, the guardsmen are trying their best." The man said. "It's just that there isn't any rumor or traces of them that we can find."
"We?" Brick said.
"Ah. I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Peter Hornlock, a detective for Riverwood's guardsmen." The man said holding his hand for a handshake.
"Nice to meet you." Brick said shaking Peter's hand. The rest...Didn't care. Drake was sleeping on his couch, Lester and Cyan were still playing cards, Basil was eating a steak he pulls from somewhere, and Lupin was working on a project.

Noticing this Peter just laughs. "Well, the guardsmen had currently tightened their security due to this and war that's going to happen during the war between the Solstice and Bronach."
Brick nod and turn to the rest and said, "You heard that!"
"""""Yes."""""
Peter nod. "Now that my business here is done, I'll leave." He turns around and walks out of the inn.
After Peter left, Lupin grabs Lester and Basil and drag them toward Drake, Lester complaining. Lupin woke Drake up and had the Bronze Turtle huddle together and drag him and the other into their room which was because the room in the inn was now bigger to house the four in a single room.
"What the hell are you doing." Lester hiss.
"Quiet down." Lupin whisper. He pops up and looks around before huddling back together. "I think we know who sent those assassins." He whispers.
"What do you mean 'we'?" Lester whispers back.
"He's talking about the belt guy." Drake whisper.
"The belt guy?" Basil whisper.
"He did threaten to kill us if we didn't do the job or if we peek in what was in that package." Drake whisper. "He must have found out immediately after the explosion and sent those guys to kill us."
"Well fuck." Lester curse. "And what can we do about it. We saw that guy slice a boulder with ease and he sent assassins after us probably because he doesn't think we're worth the trouble."
"Or he's busy doing tasks for his boss."
'He has a boss?"
"He had to be working with at least someone or work for someone since he told us to deliver it to somewhere where people don't go. The explosion at the Royal Ceremony must be a link to him and one person can't do that by themselves so he had to be working for someone."

"Good point." Lupin muse.
"But are we suppose to do with this information?" Lester said.
"We tell Cyan and Brick?" Basil propose.
"No. They might not believe us." Lupin said. "We'll have to prepare."
"Prepare?"
"Prepare to fight the belt guy," Basil said realizing what Lupin meant.
"Exactly Basil." Lupin. "Since Drake said that there might be a chance that the belt guy is working from someone and that they sent assassins after us which A - he doesn't think us as much of a threat or B - he's busy and both of these opinions give us time to prepare. This is because he had to find assassins and hire or when he has time, personally come and kill us. We'll gear up and get stronger so we can beat the assassins he hires or the man himself."
Hearing what Lupin had said, the other three were thinking hard.
"We'll also have to be cautious in case of any assassins," Drake adds.
After a moment, Lester broke the silence. "Alright I agree, but if we have no choice at winning then I'll be the first to run away."
"I agree," Basil said.
"I agree as well," Drake said.
"Alright huddle over and don't tell the other two about this meeting," Lupin said.
And with that, the four broke out the huddle and went back to their activities.
"What were you guys doing up there," Cyan ask as Lester pick up his cards.
"Secret." He answers. Seeing this Cyan turn to Basil who had sat down and ask the same question, only to get the same response. Seeing this, Cyan shrug and went back to playing cards.
Brick didn't ask the four what they were doing and just cooking in the kitchen. The day was back to normal.
Expect for Cyan's bad luck with cards as he kept losing to Lester and even Basil.

My House of Horrors
The hearse with the weird odor slowed to a stop before the entrance. The sound of pebbles could be heard bouncing on the ceiling. There were footsteps coming from the corridor, and there seemed to be someone sawing next door. The door knob to the room rattled slightly, and the faucet in the bathroom kept dripping even though it had been screwed shut. There was a rubber ball that rolled on its own underneath the bed. Wet footsteps started to surface one after another on the floor. At 3 am, Chen Ge held a cleaver in his hand as he hid beside the room heater. The call he was trying to make was finally answered. “Landlord, is this what you meant by ‘the house can be a little crowded at night’‽”

Midara: Requiem
"When the alternative is extinction, all acts, no matter how heinous, are permitted." The story of a little necromancer who only wants to play with abominations against all that is holy dollies and her horsey, Mister Clackybones. Welcome to the novelization of one script I designed for a video game setting I call Midara (I selected the name of a genus of moths for symbolism purposes, not to be confused with anything else). Once upon a time, I dreamed of the setting being the next Final Fantasy. Long story short: Nope. Requiem itself is meant to be an Open-World RPG which adapts to the choices of the player. This is just one of many, many paths that one might follow in Requiem's gameplay, if it ever becomes a game.

Mistbound: Eternity
The world is said to be formed out of duality of man. Good and evil, right and wrong, light and dark. And with duality, comes conflict. A meaningless clash of ideals results in pointless wars. Azlan is wanderer who doesn't falls in either category. Tired and done with the redundant world, he lives his secluded life, hunting monstrosites for coin in the crumbling province of Mountaliya, situated in the land of Forsa. The premise follows Azlan as he explores the province, experiencing the culture and its people as they try to stand unshaken amidst a cold and unforgiving world. The story is a dark fantasy that is a balance of action and world building but most importantly, it follows the people going about their daily lives. The world has entered a state of stasis, there are no high stakes, no glory to be had, only a decaying realm of ice remains. Everyone awaits for Heaven's descent, an event prophesied to bring the world out of stasis, by granting the champion of the event a wish. Heaven Shall Descend. I wanted to write a high fantasy story that doesn't focuses too much on Magic and Swordfights, but rather interactions between people, a bit of politics and ideals. This is my first attempt at writing something this huge, please let me know if you see mistakes or any problems in general, so I can learn from them. (The cover picture is from the year 1818, "Wanderer Above the Mist" by Caspar David Friedrich). I also write Short stories set in the same shared universe. You can read them here: Dark Fantasy Short Stories.

Oublivant
Oublivants: a category of dungeons characterised by the antithesis of life, necrosis. "Dungons as a whole tend towards the lethal side when it comes to exploring them; however, an oublivant actively seeks out destruction on a grand scale. No greater example of their deep hatred for life exists than the very first discovery of an oublivant. It was a massive dungeon spanning miles in all directions. It continuously expanded along the surface, so fast you could see it, and left nothing but a scorched, withered wasteland in its wake. Wherever the oublivant resides, nothing but the undead exist, as all living life has been eradicated. Why it is, exactly, the oublivant seem so against life so as to break the passive rule dungeons have is unknown. What is known, however, is that they're a threat that, upon discovery, is to be immediately eliminated." - Archomagus Addiom Onero, Court of VascilNote: This is my first story on royal road. It'd be nice if you were nice... nicely.
