《How I Slayed A Dragon》Chapter 46

(Oct 6)
“Anthony, I want you to not take this out of context but… can you take off your pants and turn around for a sec?”
“…”
“…”
“…Sorry William, but I’m married…”
William tried to punch my face in anger, but I was expecting it and moved my head out of the way, dodging the attack from him.
“God damn it Anthony, you know what I mean! I want to see your dragon tail! Don’t act as if you don’t know what I’m talking about!!!”
I couldn’t hold it in and bursted out laughing, and all the while William was getting angrier at me.
After a bit, we both calmed down and got back to business and discussing my new dragon tail.
“So you told me that you recently found out about your dragon tail, right? And I’ve noticed something in your story that made me curious… can you summon and disperse your dragon tail at will?”
This was something I had not thought about much, but now that William brought it up, I realized that it was true.
I was able to summon and unsummon my dragon tail, and my dragon claws as well, at will.
It would be really uncomfortable if I had my dragon tail constantly growing out of backside, and it would scare a lot of people if I just had my dragon claws showing.
But since I can unsummon them, it didn’t bother me and in fact, I didn’t even give it much thought.
“Interesting… Interesting indeed… if my theory is correct… you may be able to do some interesting things…”
William started scribbling some notes on a piece of paper.
“You gained the ability of a dragon, but normal dragons don’t have the ability to summon and unsummon their body parts at will… yet you can. Is it because you are part human? Is it because aren’t biologically a full dragon…? Regardless, there is much to find out.”
He stood up and told me to follow him.
We left his office and entered a different building with a bigger space and more room to do experiments with my dragon powers.
The walls were made from a special steel to withstand magic, and it seemed like a custom-made room for William’s experiments…

William put on a pair of goggles that you usually see scientists wear in labs and he stood behind a thick glass wall to observe me from safety as if I were some dangerous beast.
Suddenly, the speaker on the wall turned on and William voiced boomed out of it.
“Ahem. Testing, testing. Ah, it works. Okay Anthony, we’re gonna do some testes. In front of you is a special-made dummy. I want you to create a dragon claw on your one of your fists and punch the dummy as hard as you can.”
I’m pretty sure this was a way of testing my strength and attack power so I nodded and did what he told me to do.
I breathed in and gathered my dragon essence into my right arm, transforming it into a dragon claw and rocket punched the dummy right in its stomach causing it to shake.
I’m surprised it didn’t instantly break from my punch.
“Good work. Now I want you to do the same thing, but this time I want you to use dragon claws on both hands and punch the dummy again.”
And that’s what I did.
Both my hands morphed into dragon claws and I punched the dummy again, but this time the dummy only slightly vibrated instead of shaking like it did before.
“As I thought,” William said from the speakers.
Suddenly, the dummy was lowered into the ground and completely disappeared.
“Next test. I want you summon your dragon tail but use as much of your magic as you can to make the tail as big and as powerful as possible.”
I gathered my dragon essence towards my back and a dragon tail materialized out of thin air.
It was bigger than when I had summoned it before because I had used more magic, and it was stronger too.
Still, I’m not sure how a tail would be useful in a battle.
Maybe I can use it to grab people's legs or to balance myself or something, I’m don’t know yet until I use it but I’ll find a way to make it work eventually.
Next up, William told me via the speakers to create another dragon tail.
He wanted me to create two dragon tails simultaneously.

I didn’t even know that I could do that, but it was indeed possible when I tried it.
By splitting my dragon essence in half, I was also able to split my dragon tail into two slightly smaller dragon tail.
One tail on each of my cheeks…
I continued to do what William told me to do and I did a bunch of weird and unusual things.
Even now, I’m still not sure why I was doing some of the things William told me to do, but I’m guessing that William is experimenting on what I can with my dragon powers.
I did find out that I can create more than one dragon tail or any of my dragon body parts.
For example, one of the things William told me to do was to create three dragon claws at once.
Three dragon claws? But I only have two hands though, so what do I do?
Well apparently, I was able to create a dragon claw on the palm of one of my two already existing dragon claws.
Using the logic of the fact I was able to create a second dragon tail, it would also be possible for me to create more than one dragon claw which was proven to be true when I tried it.
However, I also learnt that if I summon more than two dragon claws at once, it lowers the attack strength and efficiency.
When William had told me to punch the dummy, I noticed that I did more damage when I had only one dragon claw activated, and I did slightly less when I had two dragon claws activated.
It makes sense because I am dividing my dragon essence into multiple areas, thus weakening each part equally.
This gives me so many ideas, even though it weakens me if I summon more dragon claws, having many dragon claws to fight with would be useful. In a real fight, I could summon another dragon claw on an existing dragon claw to extend my reach and gain an advantage in battle.
The fact that William was able to predict that I would be able to do this is incredible.
He somehow knows more about my powers then I do.
At one point, William turned off all the lights in the rooms while telling me to close my eyes and not open them.
He then summoned a bunch of strange mechanical flying bats and told me to fight them only by sensing their magical presence.
These were the kind of tests that he made me do, it felt almost as if he was grading me based on how well I complete his tasks.
But I did as I was told, and William seemed satisfied.
I wonder if he learnt anything from seeing me seeing me in action.
Finally, after an hour or so, we finished, and he packed up to leave.
“Alright Anthony, good job today. I learnt quite a bit, and I have some data I want to analyze so come back in a couple weeks, I’ll probably come up with some sort of result by then.”
I nodded like I usually do and I was about to leave when William called out to me again.
“Oh right, I forgot to ask but do you still have that magic bracelet I gave you?”
I’ve been wearing the magic training bracelet ever since I went back home, and only took it off for the assassin incident, but put it back on after that and left it on.
I had gotten so used to it, it had basically no effect on me now. I remember when I first wore it and it completely paralyzed me, but now I don’t even feel a thing. I wonder if I got stronger, or the bracelet’s effect got weaker?
So anyways, I returned the bracelet to William, and he congratulated me on successfully overcoming its effects.
When I took it off, I felt my power surge again like when I had taken it off before. Although, the effect wasn’t as drastic as it was before… must be because I’ve gotten so used to the bracelet’s effects.
Then I headed home feeling quite good, I had learnt more about my powers and I had settled my worries.
And on October 13th is the training event William mentioned, so I’m excited for that as well.
But for now, I’m sleepy.
It’s been quite a day.
I’m going to head to bed now.
