《Stardust Universe》Chapter 1.21 - ????? - Vatherion & Taloncryst

As Vatherion bravely stood in front of Taloncryst, the elder dragon looks around the cavern after hearing out the man’s introduction. The dragon slowly laughs and ignored him. It turned around and went to grab a pile of gemstone and ate it generously.
“I’m still right here…” Vatherion was annoyed by the dragon.
The elder dragon continues to ignore him.
“Excuse me! I am here to capture you!”
Taloncryst continues to eat its lunch, leaving behind the puny human that was standing before him.
“If that’s how it goes then…” Vatherion unsheathes his great sword and said, “I’ll just have to take you down by force.”
Vatherion sprints toward the dragon and swung his great sword to the dragon but to his surprise, the dragon didn’t budge at all. The dragon continues to eat the gemstones. Vatherion continues to bash his great sword multiple times but the only result that came out of this was the sound of clanking metals that was coming out of his great sword.
“Why aren’t you fighting back?!” Vatherion continues his assault.
But the dragon completely ignored him. Vatherion’s patient had grown too much for him to handle. He decided that it was best to use one of his magical abilities and see whether the dragon would react or not. The Dragon Lord candidate used some earth elemental magic from clay spires to earthquake. Nothing budges the dragon. The only reaction he got was the dragon snickering at him. It was probably mocking his mortal ability.
By the time the sun has gotten down, Vatherion had gave up and returned back to the nearest city and stayed at one of the city’s inn. He was devastated at the outcome that he had not expected at all.
“Unbelievable!” Vatherion expresses his anger as he gulps down a mug of beer.
Then quite suddenly, an ominous laugh was heard across the rented room. It was the voice of a mage who had faced the frontline for years.
“What are you doing here? Came here to mock me or something?”
This other person laughed a bit and said, “I knew this would happen. You’re facing an elder dragon. Of course it won’t be that simple.”
“What are you implying, battle mage?” Vatherion finishes his beer.
The person known as a battle mage sits down on a chair and said, “I’ve heard that you’re trying to control a dragon…an elder dragon that is...you should have talk to me if you ever wanted to know something about controlling.”

“I couldn’t find you and I’m running out of time.”
“You do know that I’m the best at corrupting a person’s mind. It’s all thanks to the teachings that I got.”
Vatherion smirked and said, “So what? It’s not like you can control a dragon. You at least need to have a Dragon Amulet like this.” He showed the Dragon Amulet to the battle mage.
“So that is The Dragon Amulet…I’ve read about it. I know what it is. But to an elder dragon, that is not enough.”
“What do you mean?” Vatherion hopes for an answer as his eyes begins to widen.
“You have always been the proud Dragon Slayer, Vatherion. It seems you haven’t come across with the roots of evil or the nature of chaos. The extinction of the dragon kind was the only thing that is in your mind.”
“What are you implying?” the candidate stood up and approached the battle mage.
The battle mage remained his composure and said, “All you need is a little…Chaoruption…and a certain legendary blade.”
“Tell me.”
“I kind of happen to know someone who would be willing enough to give you this legendary blade. All it takes is for you to listen…”
Vatherion feeling anxious decided that it was best to accept and listen to what the battle mage has to say, “Fine then. I’m doing this so that I can eliminate all the dragons. I’m doing this to protect my family…”
“Very well…” The battle mage murmurs to himself, “Looks like the scouting is a success.”
-
The following day, the Dragon Lord candidate had finally come out of the Inn after a long night. But, there was a huge difference compared to what he looked like last night. He wasn’t the same person anymore. Parts of his body were filled with purple tendrils. His great sword was no longer with him but was replaced by a glowing purple sword.
“I’ve got to say it…this is quite remarkable. I thank you for telling me all of that last night.” He brought out the Dragon Amulet that doesn’t seem to be the same as last night.
The Dragon Amulet was supposed to be having a red circle with golden engravings of a dragon. But now, the amulet was purple and filled with chaotic tendrils. The Dragon Amulet has become The Chaos Dragon Amulet.

“I also have to say thanks for providing me with this sword. The Sword of Dragon Control.” Vatherion laughs menacingly.
“With these, you can finally become what you’ve always wanted, A Dragon Lord.” The battle mage bids his farewell and leaves Vatherion to his own task.
“Your help was much appreciated, Battle Mage Escher.” He smirked.
Vatherion decided that it was time to face Taloncryst once again. Once he had reached inside the elder dragon’s lair, he immediately spiked his sword to the ground. The elder dragon noticed his presence but it wasn’t even looking at him.
Vatherion then proclaimed, “I have returned to capture you, Taloncryst! The last time you saw me was a mere weak mortal. But today, I am a different person! I will get my chance to take over you and force you to kill your own kin!”
Taloncryst continues to ignore him as usual. Vatherion then snapped his fingers and pulled out The Sword of Dragon Control from the ground. He then carried the weight of the sword with one of his shoulder. He grabs out the Chaos Dragon Amulet and uses it.
For the very first time, Taloncryst reacted as it resisted itself from being under the influence of the amulet. Even a chaos version of an artefact couldn’t hold on against the might of an elder dragon.
“Immense power…How can it be...?” The dragon was surprised by the sudden development. “You didn’t even scratch me yesterday but now you dare to empower me, An Elder Dragon?!”
“So you’ve finally talked, huh? I’ve been waiting for this. But it seems you are still resisting. Then I have no choice but to use this sword as well.”
“What is that sword?!”
Vatherion raises his sword up and channels down his chaotic Infinitum energy to the sword. He then aimed and pointed the sword to Taloncryst.
“Dragon Slayer, what are you doing?!” Taloncryst struggles to escape from the amulet’s power.
In an instance, purple beam started to shoot out of the sword and hits the elder dragon. A bright purple glow begins to shroud both of their vision. As soon as the glow stopped, small smokes can be seen around them. But the final result…
“Hahaha. That wasn’t so hard isn’t it?” Vatherion laughed as he watches the elder dragon that was currently kneeling down in front of him. “Now I truly am a Dragon Lord. No. I am Vatherion, The Chaos Dragon Lord!”
Vatherion grab onto Taloncryst neck and climbed on it. He devilishly smiles as he looks around the sight that he gets to behold.
“Now that I am done with my task, I got an academy to manage. Let’s go, Taloncryst!”
Taloncryst opens its wings and made a huge hole through its dragon breath. It flies away through the hole it had made. The Chaos Dragon Lord has finally arrived only to return hidden as a top guy in one of the most renowned academy in Crestia. He had been managing it for years ever since.
This story culminates when it was time for The Chaos Dragon Lord to revive The Great Chaos Beast that was lay hidden deep inside the mountains of Gemhold. But as soon as he had initiated his plan, he had come across the Overlord. The one who asks Recordia to sleep until The Overlord’s crystal has been eaten, the one who asks Recordia to find back where it was hidden after being awakened.

Note to Reader: I understand this book is not for everyone, if there is a writer that can write to please everyone, I have never heard of them. The MC can be frustrating in his decisions as he learns to grow and accept what and who he is. I believe this reality is unavoidable. That being said, if you feel the need to give a review, please do so, just know that I will report you if all that review seems to do is blab toxic language and insult my literary choices without giving constructive advice or alternatives. That's not just a me policy, that's a policy of this website. I'm not writing this note because I'm a writer who does not acknowledge that there are faults in my work. I know there are. That's what happens when it hasn't been professionally edited by someone other than the author. I'm saying this because I'm sick of reading 1 star or 0.5 star rated reviews that seem to do nothing but hate on the book because they don't like the story. No comments on grammar, ways to improve or suggestions for better story arcs. Just plain hate. It's not on, and I frankly shouldn't have to write this note, but needed to get it off my chest. In saying all that, thank you to those who do leave reviews that don't fall into the above category. Your appreciation of my work, or alternatively, your willingness to give advice for improvement, is appreciated.
