《Age of Cultivation Online》Chapter 1: Xiawu Village

"Brother! I've got you the VRMMORPG game that you've always wanted." Yu Xiao Ran eagerly said, whilst sitting next to her brother Juewang Guan beside the bed.
She then handed him the large VR helmet that is wirelessly connected to the console system, resembling a black fancy bike helmet with a few futuristic cosmetic add-ons and LED lights, thereby giving it more of that typical sci-fi futuristic look.
Juewang Guan eagerly grasped the large VR helmet off from Yu Xiao Ran's hands, as he then said 'Thank you' to her.
Yu Xiao Ran returned her brother's thank you, with a beautiful smile back, exemplifying her young girlish charms. "Whatever people say, in the end, we are still brother and sister. We are family, so we must look out for one another..." She said so honestly towards her older brother Juewang Guan, who started to become a bit teary because of her speech, but no tears actually ever came out from his cybernetic prosthetic eyes.
Juewang Guan was not able to fully hear his sister Yu Xiao Ran's own words that she said so heartily to him, because of his deafness, but the message and feelings she has were definitely conveyed to one another.
"I'll be going outside with my high school friend's later. So I hope that you will have fun in that virtual reality game of yours, brother." After saying those words, she then got up herself and left the room, leaving Juewang Guan all alone to himself in his own bedroom.
Juewang Guan then places the large VR helmet over his head, and lie down softly on top of his head, before activating the VR console system via his voice command.
"Accel System On."
It only took a few seconds after the voice command was recognised by the VR console system, which then activated the hibernation function of the VR console system. Juewang Guan was then soon forced out from reality and into an inactive state of slumber, triggered by the VR consoles system safety hibernation function, as his consciousness then dived into the Virtual Reality World of the Internet.
Particles of white light soon filled his field of vision, as he then enters a black boundless room, like the night sky but without any stars to shine a path in the darkness.

"So this is what it's like to be in a VRMMORPG game, with 100% immersion rate, huh." Juewang Guan said so to himself.
A game that allows the individual to fully dive into a universal digitally generated simulated world, complete with their five senses; touch, taste, smell, sight, and hearing, as well, containing highly advanced evolved artificial intelligent A.I's NPCs (non-playable characters) as the world's inhabitants.
System Notification Welcome to Age of Cultivation Online!
As the welcoming screen appears; a bright blue screen then popped up, before the black space quickly brightens up and eventually becomes a white room.
Two white figures then emerge in front of him, depicting the body that of a man and the other a woman; both are essentially featureless and naked with no clothing, just like a plastic mannequin. "So this must be the character creation section, huh. Where I will be able to freely customised my in-game character." Juewang Guan assumed.
So Juewang Guan decided to customised his in-game character to semi-match with his real-life self; a slightly masculine face but retains the look of a young adult, with silky black hair and blue cerulean eyes, matching the colours of his prosthetic cybernetic eyes.
Juewang Guan decided to choose his in-game character race to be human, instead of the demon and fairy race, unlike the popular opinions. With the in-game balance of Age of Cultivation Online, the race of the individual can affect the factions/sect and class the individual can have.
With the in-game difficulty being set much more difficulter for the demon race and fairy race, as they innately possess special racial skills, heavenly/demon physiques, or blessed bloodlines that give them a lot of advantages earlier on or late in the game over the normal typical human cultivators. But, that doesn't mean that the human race is that bad, as there are more side quests and missions given out by the City Lord that indeed hands out plentiful of rewards.
That is not including hidden quests, involving the discovery of Tombs of Lost Immortals, or any fortuitous encounters handed down by the heavens, like the typical xianxia/wuxia story trope.
Once his in-game character creation was finished. The in-game visualised character model then vanishes, having transformed into white particles, as Juewang Guan's own digitalised body then transforms into the in-game character that he has finished creating previously. Dressed in traditional long sleeves clothing attire.

At the same time, his field of vision began to rapidly distort, giving him a slight headache, as his surrounding quickly changes. And when he opens his eyes once again, he then finds himself to be in a different, in some kind of a starting village on the outskirts, where there are many people that wore the same villager clothing attire and long robe as he has gathered.
System Notification Welcome to the great continent of Pangu! Xiawu Village
"So this is what it's like being in a VRMMORPG. The graphics and in-game animations of Age of Cultivation Online are so realistic and the motions are fluid." Juewang Guan exclaims outwards in amazement, as he starts to move his body for the first time in-game after he created his character.
"Status Open!" Juewang Guan issued a voice command to open up his status screen.
Status Screen Name: Juewang Jihui Age:19 Gender: Male Race: Human Occupation: Mortal Villager Class: None Cultivation Level: Lv01 (0th layer) Cultivation Stage: Qi Condensation Physique: None Bloodline: None Combat Power: 001 Money: 0c 0s 0g Affiliation: None Titles: Health Points: 112/112 Satiety Points: 99/100 Stamina Points: 102/103 Spiritual Qi Points: 4/4 Physical Strength: 2 Spiritual Power: 2 Physical Defense: 1 Spiritual Resistance: 4 Physical Endurance: 3 Spiritual Soul: 5 Physical Speed: 5 Luck: 4 Unallocated Stats Points: 0 Skills
'My stats are pretty low, and that's to be expected since I've just started out.' Juewang Guan thought so to himself, as he then saw the updated main quest board in the right-hand corner of his field of vision.
Reading the content of the main quest board, it said to go and find the village chief, and the village chief's housing is located next to the village town hall. It's not that difficult to find when there are highlighted footsteps only the players could see leading them towards the intended quest location.
'This so much like an MMORPG game than I thought, that it's amazing.' Juewang Guan thought so to himself, as he then follows the traced footsteps on the ground towards the villager chief's house.
It didn't take him that long to arrive at the quest location, as an elderly old man dressed in ragged grey clothing attire, whilst carrying a walking cane, soon enters his line of sight. The old man appeared to be quite agitated, constantly walking around in front of the door, showcasing a troublesome look, with his mind pre-occupied on something.
'So this must be the village chief that will hand out the starting quest to start the main quest progression.' Juewang Guan thought so to himself. 'So how am I supposed to initiate the story quest, maybe by starting a conversation with the village chief perhaps.' He assumes.
"Ummm..." Juewang Guan then pauses for a second before continuing, "Is there something wrong, elder? You seem to be a bit troubled." Juewang Guan asked with a look of concern.
The village chief then immediately looks in Juewang Guan's direction, as his eyes then suddenly regained a glimmer of hope, as he saw Juewang Guan's figure.
"You've come at the right time, young one." The village chief said so towards Juewang Guan. "My grandson has come across with an unfortunately extremely high fever, and his body temperature is not going down. So I need you to go and collect some medicinal herbs that grow at the backside of the hilltop mountain outside of our village. Time is of the essence, young one." The village chief spoke in a very hasten tone, not pausing for a sec, as you could see the brimming desperation within his eyes.
Juewang Guan was definitely at a lost for words at how realistic the game is, staggering backwards a couple of steps, and almost losing his composure.
You could truly see the emotions conveyed through the village chief's speech and facial expressions, the lifelike realness portrayed in-game, almost like the village chief was actually alive right before him. The NPC characters of Age of Cultivation Online all are computer-generated, built with sophisticated artificial A.I that is capable of growth and further evolved from their original based programming code.
That's what makes Age of Cultivation Online unique amongst its other competitors, and constantly on popular trends, with more content and quests updates constantly added. It made for a frivolous game experience for the user.
