《The Legend Of The Insanely Overpowered Mage》Chapter 11: The beginning?

As he walked on the path littered by literal destructions, Tenur found it was almost impossible calm himself from getting too emotional, of course, that was the same for his semi-erected penis. Apparently he had an inborn problem of being a little necrophiliac.

Shaking his head, he tried to stop the never ending stacks of problems that kept emerging. It had little use in most cases, but right now, it was effective beyond relief. As a result of reduced stress, he was able to relax more, to the point where sleep was possible.

He kept walking while hugging his bloodied grimoire, trying to get used to his master's death by feeling the blood on the magical book. It had little effect, however. Though, it was to be expected since no logical and sane person would do what he just did for the sake of relief.

Along the way, Tenur noticed the nearer the buildings were to Denka's lab/house, the was damage they took. When he stepped into the street, he could make out where Denka's house was, since it stood out like a sore thumb compared to the other damaged houses around it.

The situation felt weird. In fact, the whole situation did. First of all, why wouldn't Denka's house be as damaged as the other houses? It should've gotten more attention and been shot at, instead of being left intact so much. Secondly, how did he and Laura not hear such a commotion happen while they were still fighting and arguing inside? The only logical explanation was magic, which was simply illogical phenomenons.

Ironic.. To think only the illogical could explain the logical.. Tenur though to himself.

Walking towards Denka's house, Tenur suddenly remembered Laura's existence. Fearing she might bash and torture him, he opened the door cautiously, but what laid ahead wasn't something he didn't completely expected.

"My father..." Laura sat on the floor which was littered with splinters.

"He's.." Tenur tried telling her of the sad news, but she was one step ahead.

"Dead, I know," she said in a solemn tone.

Dread filled the room, just like how pressure acts, it made the both of them feel heavy and sluggish. They stayed silent for about a minute or two, before Tenur told Laura of her father's last words.

"My father what!?" She said vehemently.

"That's what he actually said," Tenur backed up a little. The tension in the air between the two of them was scary enough to make a chicken run like crazy.

"I can't believe he trusted you, even after you tried to betray him!" Laura complained.

"Ok ok, back up a little. First, I didn't betray him to the humans, I was just planning on searching for him but the humans were already there. Secondly," Tenur took a deep breath, "I feel sad and depressed over his death as well, ok?"

Laura seemed skeptical, even though she heard the absolute truth from him. She contemplated for a few more moments, before talking again.

"I'll believe you, for now. But, in return, let my father's soul rest in your grimoire," Laura demanded.

"I thought it was just a metaphor?" Tenur looked confused.

"No, it's not. Actually, with his blood stained on your grimoire already, all he needs now is my blood on your grimoire as well to finish the process," she proceeded to prod her finger with a splinter from the ground and dropped some blood onto Tenur's grimoire, causing it to glow a translucent green, which turned blue not long after.

A surge of mana accopanied the blue glow, which intensified as time passed. Large amounts of mana agglutinated and condensed, forming solid-like clumps which sat on the earth, before dissolving and repeating the cycle. Light was created as well, illuminating the surroundings and blinding those so far away. The phenomenon happened in a 300 meter radius centered around Tenur, so not everyone was able to see this happen.

The entire process lasted a few minutes long, though for the two mortals sitting in there, it felt like hours. Everything returned to the way it was before the light show happened, causing Tenur and Laura to stare, dazed, at the formerly glowing grimoire. Though, there was one thing that changed.

"Hello, Tenur," Denka's voice resounded through the room.

"Uh, what?" Tenur looked around, but saw no one other than Laura standing there. Then, he noticed something weird.

"Laura.. why are your eyes glowing blue?" Tenur's supposedly normal sounding tone wavered as he tried to back away.

"This isn't Laura, it's me, Denka. Remember?" Denka's voice came out of Laura's moving lips.

"Again, what?' Now Tenur was curious. The fact that Denka's soul inhabited Laura's body was a bit surprising, considering she's his daughter, but the situation where Denka was still in this realm held an urgent importance in his mind. Not only could Tenur not believe it, he was curious as to how as well. Reading his thoughts, Denka explained nonchalantly.

"After dying, I hoped that you would go back to Laura almost immediately after seeing my dead body so that she would know what to do after you told her my last words, and thank gods it actually happened instead of you taking a detour around the city," Denka seemed excited, "in order to fully transfer my personality and awareness, the blood on your grimoire holds crucial parts of my soul. In exchange, my soul will soon fuse with the grimoire's and I will never be able to return to the cycle of life. I also used some fragments to possess my own daughter to talk to you."

Tenur's jaw dropped, not from the excitement he felt from his mentor who will be accompanying him through life though, but from the amount of sacrifice his mentor, Denka made. It was a crazy idea to abandon the cycle of life and try to survive as a spirit in the mortal realm, but then again, there were the souls contained in grimoires that chose this path as well, so he couldn't actually call it an act where 'no sane soul' would perform.

"I get it, I get it, you're just really surprised at all this, that's all. Now, I'll be fusing back with the grimoire. If you need my help or anything, just write your requests with your blood as ink on these pages," Laura (Denka) pointed at the book in Tenur's hands. After that, Laura's eyes returned to normal while the book glowed a little as the light jumped from Laura into it. The glow faded a few seconds after.

"Ugh, I just had the weirdest dream... You were there.. And dad was there... And you two were talking about boring stuff.." Laura pressed her temples while complaining.

"It seems possesion doesn't allow the host to remember what happened, other than vague dreams," Tenur muttered to himself.

"W-what'd you just say?" Laura seemed interested as her headache subsided.

"Ah, I said, we should get going. I know a place where you'll probably be safe."

"'Probably'?" Laura asked with a brow raised.

"Yes." Tenur replied stupidly.

"You better not get me killed, dxxk face, or else I'm gonna pray that you fall into the toilet bowl while you're shitting," Laura threatened, albeit the tone was of a joking one.

"Yea yea, come on," Tenur stood up and walked out, confident he would reach home. Seeing such a determined yet dullard face, Laura couldn't help but chuckle as she followed him.
