Simply reading the messages caused his head to hurt… However, when he saw that his lifespan only has 10 years left to reach the Elementary Core realm, he jumped up in fright as his face paled. Calming down after a few moments, he saw Kara asleep in a chair with her upper body on the bed and Sky asleep on the bed next to where he was and both of them seemed to be waking up from when he jumped off the bed.

Glancing at him, Sky started crying as she leapt into his arms, “Sniffle, I-I-I thought you were going to die. The moment Kara had a weird look as she asked us not to come to your room, I knew something was wrong. W-W-W-Why did you keep us away? Why would you do that? I don’t know what you did, but please, don’t do it again.”

Kara faintly smiled and said, “It’s been three days. Lisa and Liam’s parents already came and spoke to us. They even took a look at your condition and said something was going on with your body and affecting your lifespan. They had no idea what to do because apparently it seemed like your cultivation was at the Elementary Core Realm yet your body couldn’t support it… What happened?”

Aria was truly touched about their worry and, at this moment, he felt he could truly trust Sky. He couldn’t believe her concern was fake. So, he messaged Kara saying that an explanation would reveal their secrets and since that involved her too, he wanted her permission to tell Sky everything. Looking at Aria and then Sky, Kara smiled and then nodded to give her permission.

Not knowing where to begin, Aria looked into Sky’s eyes and asked, “Sky. I would like to tell you about my and Kara’s past. It’s a complicated story, would you like to hear it?”

Confused, she said, “Your past? Don’t you come from one of the lower realm worlds?” Realizing something was odd, she hesitated before saying, “Okay. I’ve already told Aria this but my bloodline causes me to have a chance to have someone’s energy leave an impression on me, which can only ever happen once in my life, and your’s did that. No matter what happened in the past, you’re stuck with me so don’t be afraid to share your thoughts and feelings with me.”

After the three sat down on the bed, Aria and Kara began to share their story. Starting with their lives on Earth, a planet in a universe without access to qi. Everything from their families to the world’s technology. As a crafter, Sky was absolutely enthralled learning about something called ‘technology’ and ‘science’. She was especially curious to learn that Aria’s deagle was a soul weapon version of a weapon from Earth. However, her facial expression and mood quickly changed when Aria and Kara described the last moments they saw their families, how they woke up in a strange and dangerous world, when they were told about a new system, that their old world was destroyed, and even that every member of their family was dead. Not just dead, but fully destroyed to power the Tower, out of the cycle of reincarnation. Tears started streaming down her eyes as they continued the story. Aria spoke of how they were dumped in the middle of Ishland without any information and only a death sentence if they didn’t reach a second level city within a year. What started off as a dreamy story of technology ended in an absolute tragedy filled with death and uncertainty…

Crying, Sky interrupted the two and said, “Stop. That’s enough, I don’t need to hear more. This Linley is absolutely horrible… He… He took things too far. I don’t know anything about him but if he used the ‘universe’ to further his cultivation than he should have been able to send more people to the Tower instead of killing everyone. I don’t know what this ‘High Realm’ is but legends speak of something similar. Supposedly there’s a realm beyond the Nascent Soul Realm but this realm can’t support it so you have to pass a heavenly tribulation before you’re sent to a higher realm, this might be the mid realms you mentioned.” Sniffling, she continued, “You don’t need to keep these secrets from me Aria. Let me come with you and help you find this Linley. My goal was always to reach the peak of crafting so let me use my skills to support the two of you.” Sky smiled as she hugged both Aria and Kara. “I’m so sorry this happened to you two.”

Kara broke down in tears. For nearly five months she’s had to deal with the grief of her family’s destruction and was thrust into an unknown world. Although Aria was with her, he’s a male and doesn’t like to share his feelings much so she’s never had someone she could truly share herself with but it seems she finally found a true friend in this confusing new world. As the two continued to comfort each other and talk about the future, Aria spaced out and checked his stats.

Although he was bummed about his lacking lifespan, once Aria saw his stats, he was very excited and said, “Hey Kara and Sky, can we go somewhere to eat? I’d like some time to review the changes to my system and body but I’m also super hungry. Are there any restaurants with private booths?”

Thinking for a moment, Kara replied, “We ate at a place like that when Lisa and Liam’s parents came for them. It’s a bit expensive but we can definitely afford it now.” By the end of her sentences Aria could practically see her drooling.

“Alright, let’s go there then.”

On the verge of tears, Sky said, “Go shower first you loser. You're full of ooze from a breakthrough and some blood. Besides, even if you don’t want to, Kara and I also seem to have broken through so we also need to clean up.”

A few hours later the trio had rented a booth in a fancy restaurant for a day. Sky and Aria sat next to each other while Kara sat across the table. The food was crazy good as it was made mostly of fish-type qi beasts at the Muscle and Tendons Stage with one dish from fish at the Elementary Core Realm. There were many things from Earth that Aria missed but this restaurant's food was better than anything he had ever eaten back on Earth.

After enjoying his meal, Aria said, “Alright, I’m going to examine any changes in my stats and body. You two might want to see if there were any changes to you guys. When I woke-up earlier I saw a system notification that in addition to the twelve slime qi beats two other nearby ‘creatures’ absorbed something called origin qi which increased their talents. Since you two were the only ones there, I assume it was you. Try using your cultivation techniques and see if there’s a difference.”

After speaking, he opened up his tablet and looked at the Soul Beast app. Opening it, while not shocked, he was at least a bit surprised. It basically showed an image of his Life Slime, listed it’s stats, and gave a description of it.

Since it’s a living being with intelligence, Aria checked if his Message System could communicate with the Life Slime. He noticed a contact on it named ‘Unnamed Soul Link’ and selected it to send a message of ‘Hey buddy. I’m figuring some things out with some friends but I’d love to give you a name. Any ideas of what you’d like?’ Shortly after he felt feelings of joy in his mind and the scenery of when he was wondering how long he had been alive for during his vision of the slimes memories and had an idea, albeit an odd one. Sending the message, “Aeon, that’s an interesting name choice. Alright! From now on your name is Aeon. So, Aeon, please keep the other slimes in the room until I’m back.’ Following that, happy feelings were sent into his mind and he noticed the name was registered in Aeon’s stats and the Message System.

Next, Aria opened the new Shop app and was beyond excited. He saw his amount of shop points in the top right hand corner, a list of categories on the left side of the screen (Mostly empty), and the rest of the page is where the products were shown. At the moment there was only one product in the shop but it was very useful and the note next to it was what was the most interesting.

Product Type: Mobile Immortal Cave

Description: This is a mobile immortal cave. When purchased, the owner can choose one of the following forms: Small Hill, Pagoda, Castle, House, or Cavern Boat. The immortal cave is larger on the inside than the outside, including four 20 feet by 20 feet large rooms. Rooms can be combined with a thought of the user. It also includes formations that can be activated with divine jades to collect qi and specific types of elemental energy into each room to aid cultivation. The mobile immortal cave strengthens with the cultivation of its user. So, it will always be as fast and tough (Defence) as someone at the early stage of the realm above the user. In addition to that, the cave will gain one more room each time the cultivator reaches a new realm.

‘Hmmm…’ Taking some time to think, Aria decided not to buy the Mobile Immortal Cave since he didn’t know where they were going to go yet or how long they would even stay in a level two city. Closing out of the system, it was time to check what was perhaps the most important thing. The world seed. So, moving his qi into his body, he noticed a deep gray ball surrounding the world seed and when his energy was about to touch the ball, it went right through it to the seed as if it didn’t even exist. ‘Hm… This must be from the seal that the system mentioned.’

As soon as his qi touched the seed, he found himself inside of a completely empty space. It seemed like what he used to imagine being in space would feel like, however, he could clearly feel and even see the flowing elemental energy and qi. Deciding to play around, he thought about forming a planet like Earth and immediately found all of the qi in his body being sucked into the world seed to manipulate it’s elemental energy. Unfortunately his qi is extremely limited so he was only able to form a small, 50 foot by 50 foot plot of dirt with a pond of water in the center and a rift in space leaking a small amount of deep gray energy, that dissipated into the world, above the pond.

“Interesting.” He muttered out loud as he left the world seed.

Curious about his muttering, the two asked him about it and he explained everything he learned thus far. Aria mentioned that she entered the late Bone Stage while Sky reached the mid Bone Stage. Interested, both of them asked about getting a slime of their element as a beast companion. Aria said he didn’t have an issue with it but thought that they should wait and give it some more thought until they reached the Neural System Stage because there’s no way to know if the other slimes will be useful and you only get one beast companion throughout your life. So, they naturally agreed.

“Alright, so can you guys explain what I missed while I was ‘asleep’?” Asked Aria. He obviously missed a lot and they needed to plan out their future.
