《Airant》The First Time I Used Magic!

“Wibby Wobbly Woo! I grant magic to you!” The short haired librarian said, waving a small wand.
My body was in-veil-uped. Er… Enveloped? I don’t know. Covered in a bright glow, sparks of dust surrounded me before being dispersed into the library.
Quest Complete!
Title Earned! ‘The Librarian’s Assistant’. Skills Derived From Title…!
Rank F Fire Bolt Obtained!
Rank F Frost Bolt Obtained!
Rank F Lightning Bolt Obtained!
“Now, lets test out your new found magic!” The librarian then handed me a wand of my own.
Wood Wand Obtained!
Neat! I equipped it right away!
“Take that thing off!” Chop said.
“What? Why? I’m a wizard now!” I said, waving the wand in the air. What’s the one spell the british wizard does? “Expensive petroleum! Pew Pew!”
Nothing came out. Tragic.
“Are you trying to quote children’s books? Listen, wands are for wimps.” Chop said.
“Wimps?” I asked.
Chop nodded. “They’re only good if you plan on using magic as your main form of attacking, which is not our goal at the moment.”
“What is our goal then?” I asked, putting the wand away. I ain’t a wimp!
“Grinding your new magic skills up to Rank C! The wand boosts your attack with magic too much. Since our goal is just to grind the proficiency for it we don’t need you to hit hard, just a lot. But I’m getting ahead of myself. I was going to have you do that last. You need Sword Mastery as well.” Chop said.
“I’m already a sword master! See?” I took my sword out and swung it in the air. Ha!
“Don’t get ahead of yourself, kid! A real sword master can do this!” Chop took out his own sword, the fancy Blue Screamer. No, wait it was called a Roaring Aqua. I still want one too…
The sword in his hand shined white, both of his hand gripping tight onto it. Then, Chop split his sword into two.
Huh? What? I blinked, rubbing my eyes. Did I accidentally drink Mom’s special bitter juice? Cause I’m sure he has two Roaring Aquas now!

“This, is the power of a true Sword Master!” Chop boasted. He gave a few practice swings. His two blades cleanly cutting at the air. So cool…
“I wanna dual wield too! Hold on!” I went into my inventory, I still had that short sword. I tried equipping it into my off hand.
Error. Item only fits in Main Hand slot.
“It’s not working…” I said, frowning.
“Well yeah, I can only do this because of a skill. You can pick it up too one day, but first you need basic sword mastery.” Chop said. I guess the time for the skill ran out as his other copy of his sword fused back into one.
“Well where do I get that then?” I said.
“Actually, the quest to do so is nearby. We just have to go to the castle courtyard and talk to the knights.” Chop said. He put away his sword and turned towards the exit. “I’ll take you there.”
“Wait wait wait! Ms. Librarian still has a quest for me!” I said, pointing at her.
“It’s just a tutorial for your magic man, its a waste of time.”
“I still wanna see it to the end!” I said.
Chop only shook his head. “Alright alright, do what you will. I’m gonna go get something to drink in the meanwhile.”
Chop pulled out a fancy chair, it was a miniature golden throne, with it his name was engraved on it. He then sat down and became still. A small message appeared above his head. ‘AFK’
I wonder what that stands for. A free kitten? A freaky kilt! I don’t know. I’ll ask him when he’s not away from his keyboard.
Anyway! I talked to the library girl once again.
“I’m ready to test out my magic!” I said.
“Good! Now lets see, which spell was it again…” The Librarian skimmed through her book. “Aha! Here we go!”
The librarian waved her wand in the air and recited a chant. “Spirits, bring my student some strife and make my furniture come to life!”

The bookcases began to rumble, and suddenly, books flew off the shelves. The swirled around the us and the room, dancing like butterflies in the spring.
It was awesome!
“First things first, the Fire bolt! It’s your main big attacker. Try it out on this!” The Librarian waved her wand, ripping a nearby bookshelf right out of the ground. It flew in front of me, barely missing Chop’s head on the way over.
“You can charge your magic by using the skills several times in a row up to five times! Try it out!” The Librarian said.
Alright! I did as I was told and used my new found magic, a bright flame appeared in my hands. It was tiny at first, but as I recasted the spell, it grew and grew until it was almost as big as my head!
“Burn!” I said, casting my spell. I outreached my arm and a searing blaze erupted from the palm of my hand, completely… in-golf-ing? Engulfing? Whatever! The point is it was set completely on fire, okay? The bookshelf burnt to a complete crisp.
“You see that sensei?” I said, turning to Chop.
I didn’t get a reply, just an eerie blank stare. Ah right, I forgot that quick.
“Good good!” The Librarian clapped her hands. “Next, Frost Bolt! If you have several targets to pick off, this is your choice!”
Several books began to surround me, I guess this is where I pull out the next spell.
I held out my hand and cast Frost Bolt. A single shard of ice appeared in my hand. I recasted it four my times, filling my hand with a swirl of magical ice crystals.
“Freeze!” I aimed at one of the books. The icy bolt flew from my hand and pierced one of the books, pinning it to the wall. There were still four more though. Lucky my spell still had that many charges left! I see! I see! I get this magic!
I rapidly fired my magic, striking each book left and right! In the end, all the books were slain by my hand.
Hehehe… I looked over at Chop again. Still nothing. Grrr… Come back already! How long does it take to get a drink?
“Wonderful! Now finally, we have Lightning Bolt! This is good for large clustered groups of enemies.” The Librarian waved her wand, and a bookshelf spilled it’s contents of books in front of me. Too many to pick off one at a time, but I guess Lightning Bolt would be able to take them all?
I charged up my final spell, a bolt of energy around my arm. Recasting it and charging it to the max made me look like I was brimming with electric power in my hand.
“Shock!” I said, unleashing a terrifying bolt of lightning from my hand. It incinerated the pile of paper that stood in my way.
“Great work! Although now I do need to get some new books…” The Librarian frowned.
Quest Complete! 3000 EXP Obtained!
Level Up! Skier is now level 13!
Fire Bolt Proficiency reached, Rank increased to D.
Frost Bolt Proficiency reached, Rank increased to D.
Lightning Bolt Proficiency reached, Rank increased to D.
I exploded in a flash of light. The knockback of it threw me into a shelf. Ow!
“Careful! Level up knockback can glitch you out of bounds if you’re not cautious.” Chop said, getting up from his chair. It vanished from existence when he did.
“You’re back! What took so long?” I asked.
“I was gone for like, two minutes.” Chop said.
“It felt like a lifetime!”
“Uh huh… Anyways are you done playing around with your magic? Let’s get your sword skills.” Chop said, leaving.
“Yes Sensei! Lets!” I followed along behind him.

The Fate of The Summoned (being ReWritten)
The Fate of The Summoned In the world of Aethion things are vastly different than on Earth. There is Magic and Monsters, as well as Demons and Dragons. Throughout the history of the world there have been many wars, both between all the various nations and kingdoms and between those nations and kingdoms and the Demonic forces lead by a Demon King or Lord. There are times that the Demons gain so much more power than the other nations, or that the others are embroiled in a war against each other and the lone nation is targeted by the demons. It was during these occasions that the various Gods and Goddesses started giving two things to the races. The First of these things were the Blessings, magical blessings given to the worth for chosen things. The Second of these things were the Summoning rituals, magic rituals that could summon beings from somewhere else, that would be Chosen, by the gods. These beings have almost always come from our world, Earth. It has been centuries since this practice began and the countries of the world have almost always flourished for a time after a Chosen or group of them were Summoned. All of the countries treat the Summoned well, almost like kings or princes in their own right. Well, not all countries, there are some that have treated them almost like slaves, though those countries don’t usually last long. There is one though, that has lasted, for a long time due to their connection to their Patron Deity, the Goddess of Light. They only accept certain types of Summoned and they dote on certain members of the country more than others. Several years ago they performed a summoning, as they were being plagued by overflow from the dungeons. Now they, like the other countries of Aethion, have performed the ritual to fight against the current Demon King, who is said to possess a Blessing. This is a story about Fate, and those that fight against it and those who accept it. In this story the main character(s) do not fight their fate, like those in my other story, rather they embrace it and let it shape them, though that does not mean they are total slaves to it. While there will be similarities to most other Hero sumoning novels, i hope the Mcs abilities and such will make it unique.
