The sun was almost gone, and the two moons in the sky are getting visible over time. Ran didn't even realize that he fell asleep, fortunately, it was not too late.
"Growling".
This what wakes him up, the rumbling stomach that he has, he really could not bear it anymore, he was hesitant to explore around the woods as he was powerless, the only thing that he can do was to fill his stomach with the water of the lake.
The sound of heavy footsteps rang in his ears.
"What is that!? Someone's here!"
Ran alerted. Ignoring the pain in his stomach, he barely moved his body to hide behind a tree. He kept the journal inside his patched-up kimono before turning to see who it was.
When he saw the man's appearance, he immediately noticed how strangely big the Axe on the man's back, which resembled an Axe from an RPG game he usually played. He was wearing an old hunter vent that compliments his Axe, his scars on his shoulder, and his fierce autumn brown eyes show that he was a veteran hunter, base on his muscular body and semi-bald hair he must be around at his 30s.
The man suddenly disappeared before his eyes as the leaves on the ground flew away. Ran shocked, He tried to find the man with his eyes when suddenly someone spoke behind him, Ran's heart almost jumps out of his chest.
" Hello, are you done fooling around? "
When the man talked, Ran carefully paid attention to his word. At the speed of his movements he knows that he has no chance of escape, all he can do is understand what the man needs.
When the man did not hear an answer from Ran, he started yelling at him.
" Speak, boy! Your father asked me to find you! Do you know how much trouble you cost! Your mother can't even eat, worrying about you! Your father spends all day asking everyone to help him just to find you brat!"
He didn't stop nagging and nagging, but at this moment, Ran started to slowly calm down. He realized that this man was not here to hurt him in any way.
" How many times has your father told you, the forest is dangerous and you have a very weak body! Come on, I'll carry you on my back, it will be faster that way, let's go back home, it is getting dark soon".
The man removed the Axe on his back as if it was like a wooden stick and casually carried it in his other arm.
Looking at the expression of the man, Ran felt like he was telling the truth about returning him home.
" Then uncle, please bring me back home, my head hit something hard, that's why my memory is a little fuzzy and I am starving." Ran bowed.
Suddenly, an intense pain surged in his head, and a bunch of unknown memories was flooding his mind. Unable to digest it fast, Ran almost lost his consciousness.
The man immediately took action and quickly supported Ran's body.
"Are you okay? It seems you have not eaten any food yet, nephew, I know your reason for going into the forest alone, you want to be a cultivator, but if you keep your stubborn attitude, you will die young. Always remember that your body is not suitable for cultivation, your body is born weak, we can't do anything about that, do not push yourself for something you cannot do".

The man took out something from the small bag on his waist. It was a red potion that resembled like a medicine; he opened the potion and poured it into Ran's mouth.
" Drink it, I will carry you back home, it will restore your vitality, it is more effective than food ".
Ran sense a strong familiarity with the potion, it resembled the potion he usually used from a game.
" Is this like a red potion from an RPG game? " He thought, but because of the intense pain in his head, he just let go of the matter and let the man carry him on his back.
On their way, As he digested the memory, he gradually remembered the man's name.
His name was Meng Heng, he was his not blood-related uncle and his father's best friend.
Both Meng Heng and his father are former disciples of Florencia sect.
His father got crippled because of saving Meng Heng when the latter was put in trouble with an arrogant noble.
From then on, his father became a mortal, and Meng Heng continued on his path of cultivation. He owes his life to his best friend and promised to protect his family as long as he lived. So, when his parents could not find Ran, his father decided to seek help from him.
This time, Ran gradually remembers the name of the previous owner of his body. Coincidentally, they shared the same name.
The old Ran was a very stubborn guy who loved to go out into the forest without the knowledge of his parents. He had a big dream, and that was to become a cultivator and move inside the sect. Unfortunately, he encountered a terrible bad lack, a poisonous snake killed him, in contrary to his bad luck, Ran who transmigrated into his body was lucky, the poison will only remain inside the body for a few hours before the body produces countermeasures.
Ran felt confuse about himself. He didn't know if he should be thankful or not.
Out of the blue, the sky became cloudy, and the wind got stronger. After a few seconds, the rain fell. It is as if the heavens are weeping over the former Ran.
Ran swore to himself, he would fulfill his wish, he would be a cultivator, not just a mere cultivator, but one who would stand at the top. He would turn his body into a dragon, leap at the sky and explore everything without hindrance, then he would be someone that always respected by the others. A righteous man with Pride and Honor.
He held tight to his uncle and said.
"Thank you, uncle Meng, for carrying me on your back".
He then gradually closed his eyes to rest.
"Not a problem, do not do this again, just rest on my back, soon we will be at your house" .
Ran formed a simple smile on his face before falling unconscious.
Meng Heng dashed faster. He wanted to scold Ran for his actions, but he could not help but to admire the child, not like any other 12-year-old boy, Ran was very mature, he wanted to train his body; he was even willing to put himself at danger for adventuring inside the forest alone.
The sun was almost gone, and the two moons in the sky are getting visible over time. Ran didn't even realize that he fell asleep, fortunately, it was not too late.

The Arcane Prince
Book 1 is complete and fully posted here on RoyalRoad. The story is on break as I work on Book 2, which will be posted once I have finished writing it. Max is a twelve-year-old boy from the slums who dreams of seeing the world, learning magic, and adventure. On the same day that Max learns his first spell, he meets Colt, a noble-born lad on his own path to power. Colt is kind. Oblivious to the world, but kind. By his grace, Max begins to learn under Colt's instructor, even hunting monsters in the forests to the north. Max is talented and grows in power quickly, but as he prepares for the first of his adventures, the kingdom faces the greatest threat in centuries. Posting Schedule: Every 3 days until the end of Book 1 (Chapter 45). IMPORTANT NOTES: 1) This is a story about an OP boy doing OP boy things. By the end of Book 1, there will be few fights that he struggles with, and he will rarely, if ever, find his life in peril. 2) This is a slice-of-life and adventure story, which means that there will be periods of chapters without any action or conflict, but also periods of chapters with battles and exploration/adventure (the latter mostly being Book 2+). 3) There will be NO petty squabbles or conflicts going on in this story, because it is meant to be a fun one, not a high-tension, drama-filled story. So it will NOT be that. If you want lots of action or lots of conflict, then find another story to read because this isn't it. 4) There will never be an overarching evil/villain/conflict to deal with in this story past Book 1. Ever. 5) Book 1 is entirely written and can be considered a standalone story on its own. Right now, the story may last 2-3 books, or it may last 7-10 books. It is guaranteed to make it through Book 2 or 3, and if I decide to go with the bigger journey I have planned after that, then it will be longer. There will be a several-month wait between Book 1 and Book 2. 6) The story contains the sexual content tag, but it will not contain any unless Max and his future boyfriend reach 18+ years of age in-story. If I decide to bring the story to a conclusion with Book 2 or 3, or they never reach that age in the full story for the long journey, then I will remove the tag. 7) There are currently absolutely no plans to make this story into a harem if I write the extended story. If I write the extended story and decide at some point to make it one, then I will add the appropriate tag and inform readers of this decision. However, there are currently zero plans to make it one. 8) This story takes place in its own story universe, with its own rules. Please keep that in mind when reading it and other stories.
