《Asher the Insane》Bovin the Unlucky

I wish I could fight with my brother in the arena but out of the two of us, he was clearly the stronger.
Heh, the difference in strength was so immense that I wouldn't even think of participating in the arena tournament.
The fights are to the death but the prices are riches, fame, and a wish personally granted by King Drach himself.
...
Oh well, I was too late already, I couldn't register anymore.
It was today, at least I could wish him good luck.
I took a sip of the tea I ordered from a stall close to the Colosseum. I guess some dreams will stay just that, dreams.
While enjoying the view, letting the sun hit my face I took another sip when a young woman approaches me. I thought that she was very pretty.
Tall with short black hair but there was something wicked behind the smile she had.
"Hello there, Bovin," she said. I felt like there was something ungodly about to happen.
"Excuse me but do I know you?" I asked with genuine puzzlement.
"Well, maybe under another appearance maybe but who cares about that. Listen, I'm gonna need you to fight in the arena for me, alright?"
I sighed, "well. I would like to but I'm not very strong you see."
"Don't you want to fight?”
She then jumped on the table and looked to the sky, and shouted as loud as she could,” Tatakai! Tatakae!"
"Tata-what?" I furrowed my brows.
"You'll fight!" She stomped around on the table, "Fight and win! And you know why you're gonna fight?"
"..no?"
"Cause if you're not then you're gonna die because of the curse I put on you," she exclaimed.
"WHAT?!" I spit out my tea.

"Check your status menu if you don't believe me."
I open it up and looked. There was 1 spell on me.
[Certain Struggle]
I knew that skill. My brother had it. Normally after 12 hours, it would deal 10% unavoidable true max HP damage.
My brother trained it so that after a few hard-earned levels it dealt about 15%
But this one was different.
"After 12 hours the targeted unit will receive 81347% unavoidable true max HP damage."
"Why did you do that?! HOW did you do that?!"
"For you to fight that is," she laughed.
"So, let's see. You're Bovin Arre. 22 years old. Quarter-Elf-Quarter-Dwarf-Half-Human. Got almost no skills and you're level... 36? Oh, come on. The first rule of an RPG-based world is too grind, my man. Did they never teach you that? And your unique skill is [Viridescent Thumb], it lets you grow plants 7% faster. Wow, no wonder you’re not strong with an ability like that."
"Grind? And how do you know all this information?"
"Shut up. You're not strong on your own but no worries. I'll just give you a ton of skills."
"You can just do that?"
"Course I can. Who do you think I am."
"I have no idea."

Delicate as Glass
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] Nuri, an [Assistant Glassworker], only has a single Skill. It’s really not fair. He’s worked in the hot shop his entire life, following in his father’s footsteps after his parents passed away, but he’s stuck. Despite possessing above-average talent as an artisan, he still hasn’t shed his [Assistant] status, gained a second Skill, or even leveled enough to reach the first Threshold. Besides, he’s bored; most days he daydreams of adventure and becoming a hero, or pines for the renown that’s sure to be his if he evolves his Class into a [Master Glass Smith], but nothing ever changes—until suddenly, fate strikes, and nothing is ever the same again. These days, Nuri sees more magic, prestige, and adventure than he can handle as he gets swept up in realm-shaking conspiracies and desperate fights for his life. Maybe a boring life wasn’t so bad after all. Disclaimers: 1) Names were mostly chosen through random generators and aren’t necessarily final. If they seem derivative or boring, blame RNG. 2) Skills, Classes, levels, and the entire system is currently a work in progress; please be kind if it’s not very well fleshed out yet. 3) This is the first full-length novel I've set out to write without a single plot point ready. I had nothing in mind other than a recent visit to a hot shop. Molten glass is pretty awesome. 4) Related, I know much less about glass than I’d like. I did some research, but mistakes are bound to happen. If you have a correction, thanks! Please be polite about it. 5) The prose is my experimental attempt at first-person, present tense. I realize it may not be everyone’s preference, but I hope you’ll give it a try anyway!

(Dropped) Crown of the martyr and martyr of the Crown.
An undisputed being sits upon his throne, the Crown of damnation adorning his head. One gaze enough to make gods tremble, and one wave of his hand enough to make the mightiest of demons flee. An unfathomable cataclysm will surely arrive when such a being is slain and grasps another chance to walk among the living. This is a story of a monarch more ancient than time itself defying the absolution of death in his eternal strive to accomplish his primordial goal. And the Crown gazes on ravenously, its curse awaiting its next martyr. --- Story with an overpowered mc who still thinks with his brain, not muscles. I believe I put my own twist on the reincarnation trope. The story is mostly told from third person view with mc’s perspective. New chapters are released 3 times a week. --- This is an updated synopsis after requests from viewers. --- I do not own the cover picture.
