'The hell is this guy's deal?' she figured her question was pretty simple, and if she thought about it, she could probably come to a reasonable explanation, but it was bothering her anyways. She had to know. "How'd you find out?" He whispered, refusing to look her in the eye. At this point, Mindy was starting to get agitated. "Answer me, or I go to the cops. I'm sure they'll love to hear about some kid trespassing on private property." She figured the police wouldn't care about some abandoned warehouse, but it seemed to work. "I'm just trying to level up is all." She stared at him like he was an idiot. "Are you kidding me? You're so weak that you can't even kill a monster in the wild? Wow. I'm sure your partner is happy to have you on her side." Mindy felt a hand on her shoulder. Looking up, she came to face the girl who's welcomed her, looking at her like she was some abandoned gum on the sidewalk. "I suggest you don't harass my friend here." Her voice was neutral, laced with a few drops of sinister intent. Mindy bit her tongue, pushing Vinnie's hand back. "Fine. So, you're not pathetic. But why exactly are you chaining up monsters in your little dungeon rather than hunting them like everyone else does?"
The boy didn't answer, a look of shame plastered on his face. "David, don't talk if you don't want-" "Don't speak for him. Hey, kid, am I bothering you?" David shook his head, but didn't open his mouth. "I"ll have a fish sandwich and cola." Mindy told the waitress, handing her the menu. Not looking to lose her job, Vinnie took it without a word and went into the kitchen. "What level are you?" Mindy asked. "Why should I tell you?" "Because I can just ask someone else." David sighed. He waited a moment, thinking, and then answered. "I have a healing factor. It takes my energy to heal wounds, which decreases my level. Hence, my friend is helping me get in some extra training, to keep me from falling too far behind. There, better?" Mindy squinted her eyes. "There's a bruise on your neck, dumbass." "Oh, it seems there is." He rubbed his bruised neck and returned to his document. "Alright. I guess I'll just go see my friends at Victorian Hall. I do have quite a few favors they owe me." "Stop!" He grabbed her sleeve. "Please, just...I just want you to leave me alone. Is that too much to ask?"

She stared at him. "Why are you so upset? There's nothing to be ashamed of. You are who you are, right? I mean, I don't just expect someone to be as great as I am." He grimaced. "...I'm a support type." He mumbled. She stopped breathing for a moment. "That's...that has to be a lie." She grabbed his shirt and pulled it down. "Wow." A mark laid on his chest, displaying a shield with a crystal embedded in it. "That's...awesome!" She let go of his shirt, turning away, thinking to herself. A malicious smirk made its way onto her face. "I apologize for being rude." She held out a hand to him. "Hello. My name is Mindy Valentine." He slowly took it. "David." He replied back. She gave him an over the top smile.
From there, the two would proceed to eat in silence before leaving.
