《Rise of the Forgotten》Ch.2 Exposition

"Hello there Captain." A voice seemingly from all around me said. It was a deep soothing voice. It sounded wise and gentle.
"Who's there?" I said jumping from my seat in surprise. My voice was smooth and soothing. My voice totally didn't sound like I was just born, or created, or whatever else form of being new was.
" I am here Captain." It responded back. I was looking all around myself but couldn't find it. It seemingly just appeared out of nowhere.
"Who are you? And where are you?" I asked. On the outside I sounded calm and collected, but on the inside I was panicking. I could feel my heart's beating rapidly.
"To answer your questions Captain, I am Aldion, the Artificial Intelligence of the Star Ship. As for where I am, well lets just say I am all around you so long as you are in the ship." It answered calmly and patiently.
After hearing that it was the Star Ship I was in I immediately searched in my mind to see if I knew what that was. The answer came quickly and I got the basic info on what a Star Ship is. To think that I was in something like that was amazing to me. But then that made a question pop up in my head. Why was I here?
"Aldion could you explain why I am here and how am I here?" I asked. My gut was telling me that I could trust this A.I.. At least for now.
"Of course Captain. As you should know you are a member of the Omegian Species. You are the last, to my knowledge of your species whilst also being the most powerful of it too. You are the leader of your species. As for how you are here, the Leader before you in all of their power made it so you would be born here many years after they died." Aldion replied with a gentle tone. It really seemed to care for me.

"Hmmm. I see but why would they do that and how was I born anyway?" My tone calm and even. From what I know I should feel sad and alone, and yet I don't. I feel like it's because I've never met anyone let alone someone from my own race.
"For the reasons why they did that I do not know. As for how you were born, your species can reincarnate and pass on knowledge to their future lives. Normally you would have two parents, but you are a unique case in all of your species. From the data I have apparently after the previous leader, or Alpha as is their designation and name, did whatever they did all the souls of the dead Omegians came together to form your soul. I have deduced that all the souls of any of the Omegians that have died since this happened have all come together to form you." It explained. Apparently I have been formed from all of the souls of the deceased Omegians.
"You said that we should reincarnate right? Do we keep the memories of our past life then?" I asked.
"That is correct, though not in the way you think. When your people died the previous lifes memories would still be part of you but would not interfere with the next life unless accessed. (Like The Avatar)" He explained.
"Does that mean that I could access my entire species' memories, knowledge, and experience?" I wondered if I could see what it would have been like to have parents, among other things.
"I do not know Alpha. This has never happened before so there could be side effects or hidden advantages to what happened to you. Though it is possible."
"I see, then what do I do?"
"You must meditate Alpha, in order to gain an understanding of your own power, ability, and soul. It will also help you gain an understanding of your surroundings, help you review your previous actions, and help understand the universe."

"How does meditation do that?" I asked, wondering if sitting down and emptying my thoughts could really help me understand the universe.
"There are various theories that we can talk about later." He paused. "For now though we must determine the next step forward and what you will do from now on. After all, while isolation can help you organize your thoughts it is not healthy in the long term. Especially for social creatures." He said diverging my thoughts onto what I should do next.
To be honest I had no idea about what to do next. I didn't even know what I could do. After thinking about it for awhile I came to some possible things I could do:
Ask what my name is.
After thinking about it I realized that I didn't know my name, if I even had one.
Find some food. I was feeling a little hungry at the moment. Meditate. To see if it did what it was said to do. Find other 'people'. Find out how to find other people. Find out why I was here.
After making a short mental list of things that I wanted to do, I decided to start with the easiest one.
"Do you know my name Aldion?" I asked the quite knowledgeable A.I..
"Yes, your name is Alpha. It is both a title and name. Just like the rest of your people your first name is also your 'rank' and name. You being the Alpha are the greatest of your species."
"What do you mean 'rank'?" I asked not understanding what he meant.
"When one of your people is 'born' they are born with an amount of 'power', if you will. This beginning 'power' determines their beginning 'rank'. They can move through the 'ranks'. But the higher the 'rank' the more responsible they must be."
"What are the ranks. And what happens when you are born of a high 'rank' but don't want the responsibility of what comes with it? Also what about equality and discrimination, if people are born at different 'ranks' wouldn't this be indisputable proof of superiority. Also wouldn't people be able to abuse their power at higher 'ranks'?" I asked not knowing where these ideas and thoughts were coming from. I felt like there was a subtle stream of information on how this normally wouldn't work and how a society structured like this would face many problems and most likely collapse at some point.
"And why do you say that little one? You have just become aware not 2 hours ago, so how do you know of the concepts of superiority and discrimination?" He asked inquisitively on how I knew these things. After all from what he, and I, knew I have never faced other people.
"I don't know." I said. "It just came to me like I always knew what they were. It feels like I've always known what they are. But I didn't. Wh, why does it feel like this? Ugh." I staggered back and forth. My vision was spinning and I felt light headed. Suddenly I was on the floor. My vision was darkening. As I was falling out of consciousness I heard Aldion speaking.
"Alpha are you alright? Alpha respond. Alpha respond. Alpha currently….."
There was only darkness now.

Armored
600 years have passed since the fall of civilization. The earth went through massive changes and core beasts now reign supreme. All that still exists of mankind are ruins and a scattering of walled cities. Festering pits of the worst humanity has to offer, protected by "knights" clad in a mech-like technology called armor. Nobles rule over everyone, little more than warlords. The middle class wants to make a buck and become nobles. And the rats want to survive. But everyone wants a piece of the ancient technology lost to mankind hundreds of years ago. Find one piece and it could change your life forever. For better or worse. This is my second attempt at a story. I haven't been writing for more than 3 or 4 months all combined. I hope to improve as I go. This is first and foremost a learning experience for me.

8 139Project Alpha: A Summary - 'Old Republic to Current Operational Era'
This is the beginning story of an ongoing epic written over a period of ten years. A labor of love for me. We start the story with the summary of what started it all: Project Alpha. A project conceived by the Supreme Chancellor to prevent another Hyperspace Conflict. The project; like all government run projects, spawned other 'side-initatives'. One of which results in the creation of our five main protagonist which are the main characters of the next series of stories. We start at the end of the Great Hyperspace Conflict. The prologue addressing what effect all of this has on the New Hope Era of the Star Wars saga.

8 172I Don't Seem So Bright in a Well-Lit Room
The universe is a very strange place. It will take even stranger heroes to save it."Absurd. Existential. Ridiculous. Tragic. Comic. The antiheroes of "I Don't Seem So Bright in a Well-Lit Room" are a kind of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern with space packs, inadvertently colliding with their destinies against a starry background of witty wordplay. With a vision as sprawling and limitless as the loveably goofy universe in which it's set, Browning's wit, wisdom and heart are always at play, combining to form a wonderfully panoramic and very silly heroes' journey that visits every trope of its overlapping genres and draws moustaches on all of them."- Marcel St. Pierre, author of "Vengeful Hank" and "Cliché and Wind Go Hitchhiking".(Sci-fi /Dark Humour/Absurd) *Completed!
