A loud startling sound from my backyard causes me to jump up off my couch in surprise. 'What was that?' I say to no one in particular.
After a few moments, I build up enough courage and look out through my back sliding glass doors. I gasp and my eyes widen when I see a bloodied man limping in my backyard. 'How did he get back there...? Did he climb the fence?'
I look at him skeptically as he starts to get up on trembling legs looking solemnly at his surroundings, seemingly confused.
When he looks in my direction I gasp and see his eyes widen and he starts walking towards my house. I quickly run away from the window and hide behind my island in my kitchen.
Not a few moments later than I hide do I hear the sound of footsteps walking closer and closer, "My my, what a nice quaint house."
I grab a nearby knife when the footsteps begin to get closer and closer when suddenly he pops up from seemingly nowhere and swiftly snatches the knife from my hands, "Dear, you can't hide from me, I can smell your scent. Quite wonderful, delightful."
I scream and he quickly covers my mouth, "Now now, no need to scream. I'm not here to hurt you. I just need you. You're going to help me get back."
I bite his hand and start running away but he seemingly teleports in front of me and I bump into him, he holds my arms steady, "Bold of you to try and run from the great Demon Prince of Hell. You know you have no chance against me."
I gasp and my eyes widen he lets me go and I fall on the floor, "Y-you're a demon?"
He looks at me with a puzzled expression, "Of course I am, everyone knows me. I'm the best one there is out there." He starts mumbling, "Though that idiot Prince Ajax might disagree..." He frowns at seemingly unpleasant thoughts and his face twists with disgust.

Suddenly he claps and smiles, "But you already know who we are. Shall we get going? I need you to show me to the nearest teleport device so I can return home."
I look at him with confusion, "A teleportation device?"
He groans and starts tapping his foot on the ground impatiently, "Yes, yes, that is what I said. Now, where is it? I don't have all day."
I shake my head, "I don't know what that is. Do you mean a car?"
He looks at me dumbfounded, "Have you hit your head or something? A teleportation device? A waypoint? You know, the thing that hovers above the ground that can take you anywhere in Teyvat?"
"Have you hit your head somewhere? Everyone knows there's no such thing. Technology isn't advanced enough to do that. You sound like you're living from some sort of fairy tale."
He scoffs and anger blazes in his eyes, "You imprudent lady! Have you no shame? I am your prince and as such, I expect you to respect me."
I finally get off of the floor and look him dead in the eyes, "You sir are a rude one. You are not my prince and as such I expect you to respect me. This is my house, you didn't even knock."
He finally takes a look at his surroundings and scoffs, "Tch. So this is how the lowly live. It is indeed a humble abode but not merely as extravagant as my home. You have such strange devices."
"Thanks?"
He takes the remote and turns on the tv and when it blares he immediately attacks it with some sort of power. I gasp and my eyes widen, "My dear, I think your box thing has trapped souls into this contraption."
He inspects it and then smirks, "Beautiful thing it is. Can I have it? I wish to have their souls."
"They're not trapped, you idiot! But now you do owe me a new TV! And I just bought that too...!" I throw a pillow at him and he seemingly dodges it without moving.

"How did you do that anyway..."
"What? I didn't even move, you have weak throws."
"No. What was the power you used to break my TV it looks like you completely short-circuited it." I look solemnly at the wires now with sparks flying in every direction.
He smirks, "Wouldn't you like to know?"
"Yes. -_-"
"Too bad. A demon never tells his secrets~" He smiles and starts inspecting my kitchen.
"So you really are a demon?"
"Yes, that's what I've been saying. And yet," He pauses and looks around, "You don't seem to know what I'm talking about."
His eyes soften for a moment and he continues, "What year is it?"
I give him a confused look, "20XX."
His eyes widen in disbelief, "What do you mean? Just this morning it was XXXA.D."
"So you're a demon from the past."
"And you're telling the truth. You really don't know what I'm talking about." I nod and he sits down on the couch.
"That can only mean one thing. I was sent here as a punishment."
"What did you do?"
He looks away and sighs, "I don't want to talk about it."
I nod and he gets up, "I'm leaving now then."
"Where will you go? You have no one here."
He shrugs and rakes a hand through his hair, "I don't know. I'll be fine then so don't worry your pretty little head about me."
He smiles and starts walking away but I grab his arm, he quickly disappears and reappears behind me, holding me against the wall, face to face.
I blush and he smirks, "And what do you think you're doing?"
"I-I"
"Demon got your soul?" He laughs at his own joke and lets go of me, walking towards the door.
"I was just gonna say that you can stay here if you want...until you can get back home."
He stops in his tracks and turns around slowly, "You want me to stay here?"
"Well, "want" is a strong word...it's more of an offer."
He smirks and walks back towards me, leaning against the wall, "And I'm sure I have to "offer" you something in return correct?"
I think about it for a moment before replying, "Not really but you owe me a TV so you might want to start working soon."
He laughs and starts walking towards the door again.
"I'm serious."
He looks back over his shoulder, "Seems like you enjoy my company. Hmm?"
I shake my head, "I want my TV fixed or buy a new one." I point towards the sparks still emitting from my now broken TV.
"Fine. But as soon as I can find a way, I'm leaving."
I shrug, "Fine, as long as I get my TV fixed soon."
He chuckles and settles back down on the couch staring at my TV.
"Oh, and do make sure to get up next week, you have school."
His eyes widen, "Why would I do such an idiotic thing?"
"I want your protection."
His eyes darken and he stalks up to me, "Are you trying to make a deal?"
"Maybe."
"You don't know what you're doing."
"Maybe not but I trust you'll protect me."
"You're making a deal with the devil." He smirks and fixes his hat.
"I thought you were a demon."
"Not much difference. We're both from hell."
"I want this deal."
"Why? What do you need protection from?"
"Everyone."
He thinks for a moment before answering, "This isn't a game you want to play. I have enemies."
"I know. You're not very..."likable", annoying really."
He chuckles, "Fine." He extends out his hand, "Are you sure you're ready to make a deal with a demon?"
I reach out and shake his hand, "Yes."
"Welcome to Hell."

Love Of Baybur [Participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]
The Sultanate won a huge battle against their enemies of different religion, and now left them with only a piece of land surrounded by Sultanate's forces. Baybur, a yerliyya from a backwater place, is hailed as a hero after the war for his past contributions in a strange manner and is, thus, invited to a banquet prepared by the Sultan and attended by many Great Nobles. To Baybur, who had dreams of stepping on a higher stage in Sultanate's politics, and in his Orta's ranks, this is a chance for him to shine and rise. Yet he, and many in the banquet, knows that victory is far from over. And this presents a chance, with greater risk than before, to impress the Sultan and the Pashas of the Sultanate. Sanjak-beys and Aghas of the Janissary Corps all seek to devour their enemies, both in and out of the Sultanate. And Baybur, in the midst of this brewing storm, is no different from a fish dreaming to be a dragon. But a woman he meets at the banquet changes everything; his goals, his dreams, and his fate. After all, love, without expression, is a deadly curse. As a note, Cover is not mine obviosuly, and I write this both for NaNoWriMo and Writathon. To some history lovers and nerds who specialize in it, I know you might be angered quite a deal with some things I've written.(I get the feeling when someone talks wrong foolish things in a study I know, no hate) But this is a historical fiction written by a seventeen-year-old, don't expect much from me to know every single detail. Much of my research is surface level and some things are, well, to fit plot, are changed. So bear that in mind. For schedule/chapter thingt, there will be at most five chapters until I pass the 55.555 words mark. Each chapter will be around or above 10k+ words. It is also not edited, and probably won't be unless I find a great deal of time in my hands after November to see what I lack in where. That's all. Now go read, or leap to another fiction. Enjoy!
