"Oi there!"

I hear a voice seemingly directed towards my direction and I turn around a see a man waving me over near the docs.

"Would you like a ride on my boat little lady?"

I shake my head and he frowns slightly, "Don't be frightened now, the harbor is safe! Even if we should be in danger, I'll fight 'em off for ya! A sailor always protects his crewmen!"

He smiles at me and gives me a thumbs up in reassurance. I put up a finger to say something but he quickly starts talking to me and pushing me towards his ship, "I'll take ya to a wonderful island! It'll be great darlin'! Nothing but you, me, my crew, and the ocean and sand beneath us."

"But I-"

He cuts me off again, directing his crew to do certain things, getting ready to set sail. He leads me to a table and quickly walks off, directing his sailors to set sail.

"Oi! Get ready to set sails!" I give up trying to talk to him and sit down at a nearby table, writing in my journal.

About an hour later we're out in the open water and he comes around. "I'm sorry m'lady, it's not easy running a crew ship."

He sits down and I set down my notebook on the table, closing it in front of me. I smile at him and he sits down opposite of my chair, "So, what brings you here?"

I shrug and sigh, "You did."

He laughs and rests his hand on the back of his chair, "Right, my bad. You didn't really have a choice did ya? I guess not." He tosses his hair back and smiles out at the ocean view, "My bad, I don't really get to travel in good company often so when I saw you I got excited."

He scratches the back of his neck and smiles warmly at me, "You're lucky I'm not busy today. I only came to the harbor for inspiration. I didn't expect to be going off to an island with a stranger."

His eyes widen and he eyes my notebook on the table, "No worries then love! There's plenty of inspiration out here on the sea. Not a moment goes by when there's not something beautiful to look at."

He looks at me and smiles when he says this and I blush slightly and turn my attention to the ocean, "You're lonely here? But you have your crew."

He sighs and leans forward on the table, "I love me crew but it's different when they're 'ere for business and not for pleasure. Plus, different people once in a while are a nice change of pace. Sometimes you need something new. Something different. Don't ya think?"

I nod and look down at my notebook on the table, "Yeah, you're right. That's why I came to the harbor. But I don't regret joining. The ocean really is beautiful. Plus, you seem like a neat guy."

He smiles and his stomach growls, I giggle, "I almost forgot! Would ya like some'n to eat? It's starting to get pretty late and I didn't even offer ya anything to eat!"

"A little, I haven't eaten anything since breakfast."

He quickly jumps up and grabs my hand, "Come on love, the food in the restaurant is delicious!" Before I can respond he pulls me towards another area of the ship through glass doors.

I'm surprised when we walk through the doors, "Woah."

"Do you like it?"

I see a slight tint form on his cheeks as he looks at me, "It's amazing! It's beautiful!"

"Really? I'm glad. I designed this myself." He looks down at the ground as if he's embarrassed and I smile, squeezing his hand a little in comfort.

He gently guides me to a table near a large open window that looks over the sea and I gasp. He pulls out my chair for me and pushes me up to the table. "The view is so pretty."

"It sure is." I look over and he's looking at me and I blush, coughing slightly.

After ordering our drinks and food, we make light conversation, "So, what do you like to do besides sailing?"

"Hmm, I've never really thought about it. I guess I just like enjoying the nice scenery and relaxing. Thinking about my place in everything."

He looks out the window and sighs, "So, what is your book about anyway?"

I blush and touch the cover of my notebook, "Oh it'-ehm, it's nothing special..."

He looks at me expectantly and then frowns, he takes my hands in his and gazes into my eyes, "I promise, I won't judge you. I'm sure I'll love it no matter what's inside."

I smile and open it, handing it to him, "It's uhm, about a sailor who falls in love with an island girl while traveling overseas. She's always told to do as she's expected but she wants more in life. And she gets the chance to do that when she meets a sailor who's adventured far and wide."

I look up at him and he stares into my eyes with interest and intensity.

"Hey, let's make our own adventure. We can write our own story together."

He extends out his hand and I hesitate, "What is it that you want out of life my dear?"

"Something different. Something new. Something risky."

"What do you say to travel with me?"

I smile and take his hand, "I would love to. Let's do it."

"Together?"

"Together."
