《The fashion consultant | Sherlock Holmes x Reader|》|Chapter 3: Sugar|

I stared at the suit, it was perfect. The Gorge, breast pocket and Lapel all lined perfectly with the mood and theme of this particular network meeting. I looked further into it, this board meeting was to have all the high-end government officials and trading partners all under the same roof. With classic music playing, typical. This suit works so well with that and with the added cufflinks, oxfords and tie this man would be the talk of the night but for the fact.....

"We double-checked Miss (l/n) we don't have another 48 only the 46." I sighed dimly glaring towards the male worker.

" I'll continue to make you look until for stop lying." The man gaped at me.

"E-excuse me?" He was confused and he's the one telling the lie.

"I know when a man such as yourself is lying." A long sigh escaped me. "Let me explain. You left originally and talked to your boss over near the counter who told you the one suit you did have is going to be bought later today by someone else and when coming back and I said to check out back you stood around for a minute before returning. This particular suit brand doesn't put suits on hold for more than 12 hours so tell me when was the suit was put on hold?" The man cleared this throat. It's always a bother hassling employees all the time for my clients but it's apart of the job.

"One day ago Miss." I raised an eyebrow and we walked to the counter where the manager stood knowing what was just said.

"I believe you overheard the conversation." My calm voice still seemed to shock both men as the older man grabbed out the neatly wrapped suit.

"Yes and I apologise for our deception." I passed over the check with my employer's name written on it. He gulped. "You're working with Morris?" I simply nodded taking the bag in hand flicking out my phone to call his secretary.

"I have the suit, bring a car around to Gieves & Hawkes. I'll be waiting."

....

Managing to get home in time to get groceries so I'd having something to eat for the evening I couldn't help but hear loud voices upstairs. My eyes rolled as my heel met with the front door making it shut. I'm going to enjoy living here. I thought to myself tossing the bags onto the counter when seeing a little note from Mrs Hudson with a plate of food. A smile came to my face.

....

I was in the middle of making my morning tea when a loud bang roared its way into my ears. "Early rises." I breathed to myself searching for some sugar in the cabinets. I knew I forgot something. Maybe the early birds have any. Striding my way up the two flights of stairs (17 steps I counted) I knocked a few times on the door being greeted by John.

"(Y/n), good morning. Come in." John said glancing to the silk robe that I wrapped tightly around my waist.

"Yes good morning indeed," I said looking around the flat seeing a few 'cases' along the walls. "I've just come to ask for some sugar." John nodded.

"Right, I'll go have a look. Don't mind the mess." Stepping closer to one of the walls my eyes squinted slightly reading some text before grabbing a pen and paper from the coffee table. Marking out the letters according to the photograph along the paper in quick strokes I heard someone right behind me.

"What are you doing?"

"(y/n) came here for some sugar." John came back into the room holding up the container like a trophy.

"And while I waited figured out the code." I murmured ripping the long line of letters.

"What?" Holmes seemed more than annoyed at my sentence.

"Scytale, it was an ancient form of encryption common in ancient/classical Greece. It is a transposition cipher where letters are re-arranged in the messages prior to being deciphered by the recipient." I spoke while wrapping the parchment around the pen I'd just been using before tossing it over to Sherlock who I now knew was a detective. He stared at me. "Thank you for the sugar, I'll be leaving now." shutting the door before either could speak I trotted my way back down the flight of stairs finishing my tea.

....

After that among other things, I had gathered my outfit. Perfect for any formal Advent and leaves an impression on any marketing man or woman. I'd already showered and waited out until midday before returning upstairs.

"This is all that was found. No body." So they are involved with the police also, but not officially otherwise they wouldn't be talking here. I knocked on the door and the room fell silent. John yet again was the one to answer the door.

"I've just come to return the sugar." Lestrade an inspector. He was slightly uncomfortable waiting for me to leave so I started a conversation. "What did that cypher lead to?" I questioned to Holmes and he gestured to Lestrade who was holding something.

"No body, not a trace of it but for this." A golden bee pin with diamonds engraved across the medium-sized clasp. I smiled when seeing it. "What are you smiling about?" Pointing at the pin I thought for a moment.

"That pin is to be worn by the men attending a networking meeting tonight at the Museum. Women wear bird pins. Only government officials and trading partners are able to attend." I spoke up and the three men gazed at me.

"And how do you know about this then?" Lestrade said while wrapping back up the pin away from my sight.

"I dressed one of the government officials of course. I'm a Fashion consultant and I may have a plus one entry if one of you is free tonight since I owe you two boys some sugar."
