《Sugar And Spice》Chapter forty-nine: Teams

I woke up the next morning to Alex not beside me. I pouted while going downstairs to see him cooking. Shirtless. And what a sight for sore eyes that is. I walked up behind him. "Boo," I whispered in his ear.
"I heard you," he chuckled while I wrapped my arms around his torso.
"What are you making?" I asked while standing on my toes and resting my chin on his shoulder.
"Breakfast for you," he replied, kissing the side of my head quickly.
"Hash browns?" I smiled.
"Yup," he replied.
"Mwah!" I kissed his cheek before sitting on the counter and watching. Once he was done cooking, he put them out on a plate and held it out for me to take. I didn't take it, I just opened my mouth.
He chuckled before feeding me a piece after waiting for it to cool down. As I ate it, the bell rang. I hopped off and answered the door.
"Yoo-hoo!" Hayley skipped inside. What makes them come here in the freaking mornings? Who does that? "Ooh! Hash browns," she began taking it from Alex but he smacked her hand away.
"Not for you," he smirked before handing me the plate. Alex and I split it while Hayley glared at us. I laughed before hugging her as I left the empty plate in the sink.
"Alex, we came with an idea for today," Daniel chuckled while taking out a bunch of packets of water balloons.
"What's that?" Alex asked.
"We're going to have a water balloon fight. In teams." Wow, who would have guessed that's what we would be doing? Not me! Note the sarcasm.
"Me and Faith?" Alex questioned.
"Nope, me and Faith," Daniel threw his arm around my shoulder.
"Why?" he chuckled.
"Because otherwise, it's too boring, come on, go change, meet us in the backyard!" Daniel pushed us to the stairs.
I caught myself before I tripped and went upstairs in confusion. I grabbed a tank top and some shorts and changed in the bathroom while Alex changed out in the room. I came outside while tying my hair up in a high ponytail before we went back downstairs, into the backyard. "So how are we doing this?" I asked while helping Daniel fill up our bucket while Alex and Hayley filled up theirs.
"You guys already have more than us," Hayley whined.

"Yeah, because I was actually filling the water balloons up," Daniel snickered.
She huffed while Alex and I gave each other a look. By the time we were done filling them up, my fingers were close to numb.
"I'll do the last few," Daniel said.
"No, it's fine. I'll help," I shrugged. I did a few more before giving up and letting Daniel do the rest. Once we were done, we went to our side of the backyard and grabbed a few each. "How do we decide who the losers are?" I asked.
"The ones wetter," Alex smirked. I shook my head at the innuendo and threw one at him, hitting his shoulder. He shook his head at me before throwing one back which I dodged. We ran left and right within our side and got soaked, a little bruised and let out a lot of screams. Mainly Hayley and me.
While we were throwing water balloons at each other, somehow Alex and Daniel managed to switch locations.
Alex came and popped one right on top of my head. I did two in return before him and Daniel switched back. It's crazy how fun water balloons are even though I'm not a kid anymore. Water balloons will always be fun, who am I kidding? One landed smack on the side of my head and I winced.
"Ow, you bitch!" I threw one right back at Hayley which hit her forehead. She winced but we got right back to playing. Alex and Hayley were out of balloons before we were and I already knew they were going to try to come and steal them. So I grabbed as many as I could, and started throwing them at the two.
Alex was already near me and caught my wrists, taking all the water balloons he could.
"That's not fair!" I stomped.
"Fine," he shrugged before tossing them back to me. He began throwing them back really fast so obviously, I dropped a ton of them and only caught a few. A few which I threw pretty much right on his chest. "Ow!" he laughed, rubbing his chest.
I threw my last one which he caught and threw back. I turned around to avoid it hitting my waist and it just ended up hitting my ass.
"Bullseye!" Alex laughed.

I came out in just a towel because I forgot my clothes outside. Alex was lying on his bed while I grabbed my clothes. I took them and went inside, coming back out to Daniel and Hayley sitting on the floor.

"We're sitting up here today?" I chuckled.
"We now don't have anything to do. Like at all," Daniel huffed.
"Do you guys wanna go to the ice cream place? We can walk around and stuff?" I suggested.
"I'm down," Daniel stood up, pulling Hayley up.
"Alex?" I asked. His eyes stayed glued to his phone. "Helloo?" I nudged his leg.
"We'll meet you downstairs," Daniel said before they slipped out.
"What's up?" I sat down at the edge of his bed.
"I don't like your closeness with him," he mumbled.
I took a minute to figure out who he was talking about. Call me dumb. "Daniel is like a brother to me, Alex," I huffed. "I love you," I snatched his phone. "Come on, I want ice cream," I pouted.
"Fine," he sighed in defeat and stood up.
"Alex," I grabbed his hand and pulled him back from the door.
"What?" he looked down at me. I grabbed the sides of his face and kissed him.
"You okay?" I asked after a minute when I pulled away.
"Yeah," he nodded with his smile coming back. "I'm okay."

"I want some!" I pouted, taking a spoonful of Alex's rocky road.
"Then I do too," he took some of my cookies n' cream. We've all been extremely whiny today, let's see how the rest of the day goes.
x-X-x
We were having a horror movie marathon. "Why? Bitch, why?" Hayley screamed. We were watching Hush. Again. We've watched it once before all together and on Daniel's demand, we all agreed to watch it again.
It was a very eerie and creepy scene and we were all dead silent, carefully watching the movie. Alex and Daniel screamed while grabbing Hayley and me, scaring us half to death. We let out shrilling screams while the guys began laughing.
"Oh, my god! You don't do that to people!" I shoved Alex as he kept laughing. "That was mean! Alex," I huffed while pouting at him.
"It was funny," he shrugged a little.
"No, it wasn't," I huffed.
"Faith, come with me." Hayley stood up and took me upstairs before I could protest.
"What happened?" I questioned.
"We are gonna scare the crap out of them in the middle of the night, okay?" she whisper yelled.
"Huh? What are you talking about?" I asked in confusion.
"We're gonna scare them. We'll scream really loud when they're walking near us, we'll hide and everything. I'll tell you when," she explained.
"Downstairs or up here?" I chuckled.
"Downstairs, we'll hide near the kitchen or the stairs," she shrugged as we went back downstairs.
"Done with your scheming, ladies?" Daniel asked. Oh, just you wait Daniel.
x-X-x
Hayley disappeared and I knew we were gonna scare them soon. "I'm going to the bathroom, I'll be right back." I excused myself while the guys were busy in conversation and sneaked away.
She stood against the wall right in front of the stairs, beside the corner that you turn to go into the kitchen. "Oh, shit! Ow!" she screamed. We heard the guys get up and speed walk and when we saw them nearing, we jumped out and screamed at the top of our lungs.
Daniel stumbled back with his hand pressed to his chest and sat down on the floor while Alex turned away, his hands behind his head and took a few steps back. Hayley and I burst out laughing and she pointed at them for exaggerated humiliation.
"That wasn't funny, I thought you got hurt," Daniel huffed while standing up.
"Yeah, it wasn't funny when you did it either," she mocked.
"We seriously thought something happened," Alex huffed while walking back over to us.
"And we seriously didn't have to be scared like that," I tilted my head to the side cockily.
"You..." Alex mumbled before grabbing me and picking me up. He threw me over his shoulder and carried me upstairs. I saw Daniel beginning to tickle Hayley before Alex opened the door and placed me on the bed, hovering over me.
"You're gonna pay for that," he smirked while leaning in.
"I'm sure I am-" I barely got the words out before he kissed me.
I am so in love with this boy. And it all started after a freaking game of and after I got cheated on.
Who would've known, getting cheated on would lead me to someone like him?
Someone like Alex Ryder.

One more chapter.
I'm making the last chapter an epilogue so that's what the next one will be and before I get there, I just wanna thank everyone for reading, voting and commenting on the chapter of this book.
This is the shortest book I've ever written and I wanted to keep it going a little longer but it didn't make sense to stretch the story. Alex and Faith had been through it all and it only made sense to end it when everything has been going right.
