《Girl Gone Rogue (The Shadow Hunters #2)》25. Touch My Body

Touch my body, put me on the floor

Wrestle me around, play with me some more

Touch my body, throw me on the bed

I just wanna make you feel like you never did

Touch my body, let me wrap my thighs

All around your waist, just a little taste

Touch my body, know you like my curves

C'mon and give me what I deserve and touch my body

Touch My Body

Mariah Carey

What was happening to me?

I twisted Alexei's door open. It gave way without resistance.

Didn't he keep his doors locked?

I felt perspiration appear across my temples as I locked the door behind me, collapsing against the thick wood. The pulse between my legs was the only warning before the heat settled like a warm embrace. Tremors assaulted my body as I somehow managed to drag myself to Alexei's sofa, diving face first into the cushions that smelt like sandalwood and jasmine.

Another wave of heat hit me, spreading across my body from head to toe. I curled into a ball, waiting for the shivers to dissipate.

Once the shakes ceased, I clenched my teeth and sat up.

There was no doubt I was going through my Needing. I didn't even know where Alexei was. I couldn't catch a tendril of his scent. His house was too silent, but he had left it unlocked, which was confusing. I didn't know if he had purposely left it like that and just forgot about it.

I fished out my phone and quickly dialled his number.

It rang but no one answered.

I tried once more but the same thing occurred. The line ended with a voice message.

Another wave of heat travelled along my body. I squeezed my eyes shut and waited for it to ebb away.

I didn't know how long I was left alone, shaking. The waves of pleasure slowly became painful, I had to hide my face into the back of the couch, so I wasn't screaming. I hated to admit it, but I was a little scared someone else who wasn't Alexei would find me. His house was located away from the heart of the Pack, but I didn't want anyone finding me like this.

"Don't panic Pen. Stay calm." I let the words sink and lull me to sleep.

There wasn't much else I could do. Remaining awake was torture. My body didn't feel like my own and I didn't know how to dominate the heat burning within me like a growing flame. It was spiralling, moving along my veins.

Sweat coated my neck as I squeezed my eyes shut and tried to numb the pulses rolling through my body.

At some point, I must have slept because I woke up in what felt like minutes but was hours later, soaked in sweat.

My limbs ached as if I had just returned from battle. Fatigue clung to every pore of my body as I sat up, stretching out the tense muscles in my arms and legs. The room spun but I cupped my temple, forcing my eyes to focus. It took a few seconds but as soon as the room wasn't spinning, I rolled to my feet. I clenched my fists at my sides, trying to will the aches away. It was futile. Slight tremors danced along my fingertips. I briefly wondered how Iong this pleasure pain would last.

I swiped my phone up, checking to see if Alexei had responded.

He hadn't.

I dialled in his number, only to listen to a voice message that told me to call back later.

Usually, his voice sent an explosion of flutters in my belly, but his words felt like shards of ice as his voice message responded to my call.

I tucked the phone away. There was no point looking at it anymore. For some reason, Alexei wasn't picking up. Or maybe, he was ignoring them. It pained me to know he would leave me hanging but I couldn't think of any other reason why my calls weren't getting through.

I didn't know what to do. It was the damn honest truth.

Was I supposed to look for him in the Pack and risk other males going into a frenzy because of the mating scent wafting off of me?

Alexei's home was far from the main area of the Pack. It was safer than my place to currently be in, especially with the state I was in.

A wolf going into their Needing attracted all sorts of problems. Frankly, I was too embarrassed to go outside. If Alexei was going to avoid me, then I would use his place for the time being until I was finished feeling like I was on the verge of combusting.

It would be foolish to go out. Unmated male wolves would attack me if I was to walk back to my house right now emitting fuck me vibes. I couldn't take the risk. I would rather soak myself in boiling oil and shrivel up before I ventured outside smelling like roses- the distinct Needing scent the female wore that drew in their mate like a well concocted potion specially crafted for their senses.

To get my mind off my thoughts, I tracked down his bathroom with the intention to scrub myself clean. I didn't like the idea of sitting around, damp in my own sweat.

The closest bathroom was on the same floor. It may have been a guest one because Alexei's things weren't in there. I searched for toiletries, keeping in mind to repay Alexei with the things I used.

I didn't want to intrude on his space. I had no idea where he was, or if he was avoiding me but this felt all sorts of wrong.

I kept things to the minimum, not wanting to dig further into his things.

His bedroom hadn't been hard to find. In fact, the whole upper level of the house was his bedroom.

Of course, Alexei possessed a King bed.

It was the first thing I spotted.

The wide bed was attached to dark, masculine wood headboard with golden streaks that ran across it. It was polished, so the surface gleamed. I avoided looking everywhere else because I would be drawn in further to investigate.

I had done enough snooping around.

I didn't know when the other wave of heat would hit but I had to move fast. I wasn't going to sit around and feel horny while this thing lasted.

The bathroom was large and airy. I spotted the black showerhead. It was large, to the point it looked like someone could comfortably stand beneath the onslaught of water and be fully doused.

There was no glass door or sections surrounding the showerhead. When I said it was airy, I meant to also add that it was open spaced, practical, and very Alexei.

The pipes hummed as water rushed out, spraying the tiles.

I made quick work of removing my dress and undergarments. I slid under the rush of hot water, relishing the feel of it hitting my skin.

After my muscles had relaxed, I soaked under the steady stream for several more minutes until my thoughts were more settled. The silence and rhythmic sound of flowing water helped but it did nothing to the chaotic mess in my mind.

I cut off the water and draped myself in a borrowed towel, erasing the water droplets along my body.

In the large oval mirror tacked against the stainless walls, I got a good look at myself. I cupped the edges of the sink, leaning into my reflection.

There was no mistaking the tiredness and pain in my eyes. I stepped away from the mirror, avoiding my own gaze. I couldn't even look at myself.

I didn't want to raid Alexei's drawer for any dry clothes. In fact, I didn't want to be in his space now, but it was the safest place for me right now. Despite my wild emotions, I was still reasonable enough to know that leaving Alexei's home was dangerous.

I picked up my clothes and searched Alexei's place for a washing machine. It didn't take long to find it. I felt bad I was using his place and things, but I vowed to myself that I would reimburse him for the things I used. I quickly set the machine on and returned to the lounge area.

Before I could chicken out, I dialled in Jude's number. He picked up on the fifth ring.

"Pen?"

"Uh, Hiii."

"Are you okay? I missed a call from you. I was just going to call you back."

"Yes, I'm good. Completely fine. All my limbs are in perfect, functioning order." My tone betrayed me.

It was official. I was currently making a fool of myself in front of one of the coolest men in history.

"Pen, are you in trouble?"

"Perfectly fine. I just called to let you know I'll be out for a few days. I'm not feeling very well. I just wanted to make sure you would be able to cover my shifts with patrolling."

"I'll have Emerys on it." He said.

"Thank you."

"Are you sure you're okay? Aella and I can come over later-"

"No- I'm good. Tell Aella I said hi. I'll get in touch with her soon for out next day to train together."

Jude left a pause of silence hanging between us. I knew he was suspicious. I gripped my phone tight until he relented a sigh. "Alright Pen. If you need anything, don't be shy. Let me know what I can do to help you."

When he hung up, I wasn't surprised that Aella began ringing a few minutes later. I knew if I didn't pick up, she would be at my door demanding answers. I closed my eyes and drew a breath. I couldn't let Aella know I was on the verge of breaking down. She had more important things to deal with than my current situation with Alexei. She was always busy with Pack work and if anything, she worked just as hard as Jude running it. Although she was still considered an Elite Enforcer, she was also the Luna. She worked her ass off and everyone in the Pack felt her devotion for each of them. She had a big heart and I adored her for saving a spot for me in that giant heart of hers.

I picked up, "Hey." I chipped into the phone.

"What's wrong? Are you sick? Jude told me you were going to take some days off."

"Aella, I'm good." I couldn't help but laugh. It was a much needed one.

"You sure you're okay? I'll come by with some cookies that Jane made."

"Jane made you some cookies?" I asked. I was going to commence salivating.

"Yup. I will share them with you. I have some time in the evening to drop by."

I opened my mouth to respond but a wave of heat pulsed between my thighs. I clenched my teeth together, riding the wave out. Aella's voice faded as I tried to get a better hold on myself. Once I could think straight without the threat of crumbling into a ball, I registered Aella's frantic words.

"-I'm coming over now! You're lying to me. Something is up. I'm coming."

"Aella. No. I'm good." I forced the words out. I rolled my neck, trying to stave the heat but it was an unabating force that refused to be squashed. "I promise I'll see you soon. I'm just feeling off. Nothing major. I'll be better soon. Don't bother visiting me tonight, I'm with Alexei anyways." I laced my words with suggestion.

"Oh." My friend was not sleek at hiding the sudden interest in her voice. "I see."

See? She did not.

I let her imagination translate my words. I could only imagine the things she was thinking. I could already see the cogs turning as she made her own interpretation of my current situation.

"I'll call you when I can Aella." I said into my phone.

"No, take your time." She said with no subtlety whatsoever. Her head was in the gutter. "We'll talk after you finish."

When the line beeped, I fell to my back, staring up at the ceiling as another pulse of heat caressed my body.

I could only squeeze my eyes shut and let the waves stroke along my body.
