《What I Want ✔》Chapter 16

I woke up with a pounding headache. That's what I get for drinking all night. Sighing, I rolled off my bed and raked my hand through my hair. I was feeling awful but I got up anyway and made my way outside.
"Lucia." I called from on top of the stairs. A few seconds later she came up the stairs, a worried look consuming her features.
"Yes sir."
"Can you please fetch me a glass of water and some tablets?" I winced as a wave of pain consumed me.
"Yes sir. Shall I wake Mrs. Vanderbilt?" She questioned. At the mention of Aubery the memories of last night came flooding back. I almost did that to her. I felt sick with myself. They say that alcohol brings out our deepest thoughts. Who we really are. I wanted Aubrey last night and I was jealous of her friendship with Vincent. I felt something for her and I can't deny it.The way she looked in that dress. The way her hair was ruffled made her look incredibly sexy.I couldn't resist her. But now,I wasn't ready to face her. I have to apologise and make it up to her.
"No, let her rest." I concluded.
"Sir, I'll go fetch you your things now."
A few minutes later she returned with my water and tablet.
"Thank you Lucia."
"I've prepared breakfast for you. It's in the kitchen for you when you are ready." She stated and left to do some cleaning.
After taking the pills I walked into the kitchen and saw a plate filled with pancakes, bacon and eggs. There was also a glass of orange juice sitting on the table. I sat at the table and gobbled down the breakfast. I was starving.
Today was Sunday and I was thankful I had no work to do today. Maybe I could take Aubrey out for the day. With that idea in mind I dashed upstairs and knocked on the door.
"Aubrey." I called only to earn no response.
"Aubrey. Please open up we need to talk." I pleaded again. I began to panic. Did she attempt it again? I turned the lock on the door and to my surprise it opened. The room was empty. I walked into her closet and saw some clothes missing. She left me. She finally left me. This hurt more than I thought it would. I pushed her away with my inhumane behaviour.
I went to my room ,grabbed my phone and dialed her number. She didn't answer even though I called her multiple times. Where could she have possibly gone? I decided to call Vincent since she probably was with him. Vincent answered on the second ring.
"Hey buddy." He greeted over the phone.
"Vincent, Is Aubrey with you?" I inquired.
"No, I dropped her home last night. Why?"
"Because she left me."
"What did you do?" He questioned.
"I-I..."
"Haden, what did you do?" He asked calmly.
"I tried to force myself on her Vincent. I scared her. She ran away from me and went into her room. I was drunk and I just started kissing her. She managed to stop me before I did anything." I muttered.
"What is wrong with you Haden? How could you do this to her? You know how much you hurt her already and she still manages to forgive you. I think she has had enough of you Haden. You've done enough. You spend all your time with Ivory , now you try and sleep with her!" Vincent yelled over the line and I flinched. I deserved it and he was right.

"I know and I'm really mad at myself for it.I need to find her but she won't answer my calls." I sighed.
"I will try calling her and I'll tell you if she's okay." He responded and ended the call. He was really mad at me.
A couple minutes later my phone rang and Vincent's caller ID showed.
"Is she okay?" I asked anxiously.
"She isn't answering her phone. I can't get through to her." He replied.
"Why don't you call Caleb while I call her parents? Maybe she went to him." I suggested and he agreed.
I hastily dialled her mom's number. I waited patiently on the line and finally my call was answered.
"Hi Mrs Evans, Is Aubrey around?" I questioned.
"This is Blake and Aubrey isn't here. Isn't she suppose to be with you?"
"If she was with me, would I be calling you?" I snapped.
"So she left you?" He chuckled.
"This actually isn't funny. I have no idea where she is. She isn't answering any of my calls neither Vincent's." I replied and there was a long pause on the line.
"Sorry about that. I tried calling her on my cell but she is not picking up." He stated.
"Where could she possibly be?"
"As much as I'd hate to think this. Maybe that man has her." Blake gasped and realization dawned on me.
"Shit I forgot about that. You're right. We have to find her. Come over at my house in 15 minutes. I'm gonna make a report." I ended the call.
I texted Vincent and the boys and told them we had an emergency and to meet at my house in 15 minutes.
I quickly called the cops to make a report.
"Hello sir, how can I help you today?" A woman's voice came over the line.
"My wife is missing and I'd like to make a report."
"Okay sir, how long has she been missing?"
"A few hours. I realised she was gone this morning. Her name is Aubrey Vanderbuilt."
"Sir, a person isn't missing until 48 hours, maybe your wife is just busy. To be fair we get tons of reports like this and it's usually just because of family dispute. Then when we beginning searching, we find out that the person isn't actually missing." She sounded annoyed.
"Someone is after her." I pressed.
"Sir, you are not a detective or a police. You don't know if she is actually missing. Was there an argument between you two?"
"Yes there was a dispute but my wife wouldn't just leave."
"Sir, I will put in the report and I will call back in 24 hours to get more info from you. Good day." She cut me off and hung up.
So much for the cops, that woman was absolutely no use. I stormed upstairs, took a shower and got dressed. A few minutes later the guys and Blake were all seated in the living room of my home.
I briefly relayed what Blake and I discussed over the phone.
"You're right. That could be what has happened." Caleb muttered.
"So did he break into the house or something?" Derek questioned and I hesitated to answer.
"I don't think so. Lucia would have heard. Aubrey and I had a misunderstanding last night and I'm guessing she left and since that man was probably watching the house he took that as an opportunity to grab her." I explained.

"Well in that case, why don't we search around outside? Maybe he dropped something." Alex suggested.
"What are we? The Hardy Boys? We should call the cops." Nicholas stated.
"I tried already. They say the person has to be missing for 48 hours in order to make a report." I rolled my eyes.
"Well in that case. I suggest we get started." Blake sighed.
We split up and scouted around the neighbourhood, asking neighbours what they had seen and generally looking around. I was searching along the pavement when my phone rang. Thinking it was Aubrey I answered quickly but instead Ivory's voice came over the line.
"Haden, why didn't you come pick me up yesterday?" She questioned, the pain noticeable in her voice.
"I'm sorry babe." I apologised. I was thinking about Aubrey when she left with Caleb that I eventually began drinking and was too drunk to think straight to go anywhere with Ivory.
"I managed to reschedule so can you come pick me up in an hour?"
"Can't we go some other time? I'm a bit busy." I confessed and Ivory was silent for a moment.
"This is for your child Haden. What can be more important?" She sounded like she was on the verge of tears and I instantly felt horrible.
"Alright baby, I'll be there in an hour.
"Thank you." She breathed. After I ended the call, I saw Vincent standing next to me, a cold look on his face.
"She needs me Vincent. She is having my baby." I defended.
"Go on Haden, be with her if thats what you so desire. Your wife is missing and yet you're still running to Ivory." He sneered.
"Vincent she wants me there at the ultrasound. And maybe we are overthinking this. Maybe Aubrey just wants to be alone." I suggested and Vincent punched me. The blow to my face startled me but I didn't hit him back.
"Bastard, she is not like that. She wouldn't just leave and you would know that if you actually spent time with her. If you don't wanna find her then leave Haden. Get out of here. She might be in danger and you don't care. It doesn't bother you." He shouted.
"Fine. I'll just go then." My mind was telling me that I should stay and help but my stubborness got a hold of me so I walked away.
Aubrey
My eyes fluttered open to reveal darkness. My mind was in a haze and I felt tired and confused. Then it hit me, someone kidnapped me and I had no idea where I was.
I felt around for my phone in my pocket. My guess is that they either took it or it fell out. Either way, I don't know where I am and I'm at their mercy.
The door slowly opened and light poured into the room. A guy with brown hair flicked on a switch in the corner of the wall brightening the room even more. He had a scar by his left eye and light brown eyes. He wore all black clothing and gloves. This frightened me.
"Why did you kidnap m-me?" I stuttered.
"No questions." He snapped.
"Calm down Angelo. She can speak. It will be the last thing she does." The guy with the blonde hair that tried to rape me twice interjected as he walked into the room.
"Y-you." My lips quivered as he approached me and I backed away into a corner of the room.
Another guy entered the room with some duct tape and a chair.
The blonde guy grabbed my two hands and pinned then behind my back. I squirmed but it was no use.
I wriggled and squirmed as he dragged me to the chair.
"Please let me go." I begged, the tears pouring down my face. They ignored me and tied me to the chair.
"You couldn't die? You couldn't just die bitch." The blonde guy yelled as he slapped me across my face.
"W-what?" I questioned.
"I'll teach you a lesson." He snarled.
"Sam, we shouldn't do anything yet. Leonardo has to get the tools. We have to make this as fun as possible." Angelo smirked.
"I just want to ruin her." Sam sneered.
"Plus the boss hasn't arrived yet."
"That doesn't mean we can play around with her a bit." Sam smirked as he unbuttoned my shirt.
"Stop P-please." I begged only to receive a slap.
Sam kissed my neck which made my skin crawl. His lips felt so horrible against my skin. But my hands were taped down and so were my legs. I couldn't move.
"You're so sexy. I can see why Haden wanted you last night."
"You-you s-saw that?" I stammered.
"That little maid of yours forgets the window open. She should be more careful." Sam smirked.
He yanked my hair and as he was about to kiss me someone entered the room. I couldn't see his face as he strode up to me.
He lifted my chin and wiped my tears.
"Its okay baby. I'm here." He spoke softy and I froze.
"It can't be true." I yelled.
"Oh but it is baby. I told you I would get you." Anthony smirked as he took off his hat. Anthony, my ex boyfriend.
"Why do you want me?" I sobbed.
"I want you because I'm obsessed with you. You, only you." He licked his lips and kissed my lips. I bit down on them hard and he pulled away.
"You little bitch, playing hard to get huh. I'll teach you a lesson you'll never forget."
"No please don't." I whimpered.
"Sam, Angelo , take her to my room." He smirked and pinched my cheek before they hauled me down a large hallway and upstairs.
They took me to a large room ripped off the duct tape, threw me on the bed and slammed the door shut. I searched around for some weapon I could use or someway to get out of here. I poked my head through the window and realised the house was way to tall for me to climb down so I just crawled under the bed and hid.
A few seconds later the door opened and Anthony walked in.
"Where are you muffin?" He questioned in a sing-song voice almost mockingly.
"I'm gonna find you."
Then he was silent. Suddenly I felt myself being dragged from under the bed. I screamed with all my might but it was no use. He pulled me out and threw me on the bed.
He slowly climbed on top of me and I closed my eyes because I knew what he was gonna do next.
One person was on my mind. I prayed Vincent would save me.
