Fuck.

"Mia's already there. She'll make sure to distract Mindy for a few minutes along with Ben. I'll tell you when you need to get out. But you have to hurry."

I decided to trust Levi's word, and ignore Mindy. Hopefully I'll be able to find the contract just before Mindy finds me.

I searched the whole room, but nothing. Maybe it wasn't even in his fucking office! If it wasn't in here, then where the fuck could it be!?

I groaned, running a hand through my hair. I couldn't lose hope yet, so I check again. That's when I saw something in one of the drawers that I emptied out. It looked like there was a latch attacked to it, but it was locked. It can only be opened with a key.

It's a good thing my dad taught me how to pick locks when I was younger.

Quickly picking the lock, a secret compartment in the drawer opened, and I couldn't stop the grin starting to appear on my face when I saw a folder. I opened it, and the contract was indeed there. I had to give Mr Summer some credit though. It was a great spot to hide something.

I closed the compartment, and put everything back in the drawer before closing it. I made sure everything looked normal, or at least looked like I didn't touch anything.

I rushed out of the office, quietly closing the door behind me to hear people yelling at each other. I carefully folded the contract, and put it in my pocket.

"Shut the fuck up, Ben!" Mindy yelled. "No one cares about you!"

I saw Mindy, Mia, and Ben at the doorway.

Mindy had an angry look while Mia and Ben looked like they gave no care about the world.

The bitch was yelling at Mia and Ben, telling them to get out before she calls the cops.

"Jeez, we just wanted to know where Ace was," Ben said.

"He's up in my room," Mindy replied. Mia and Ben cringed before Mindy slammed the door. And that was my cue to get the fuck out of here.

But like always, the world just had to be a bitch.

"Ace! There you are!"

FUCK!

I turned around, and Mindy practically jumped on me. We fell on the floor, with her on top of me. Mindy seemed to like our current position, so she hugged me tighter.

"Baby, I was so scared!" she cried.

"Get off me," I muttered, pushing her off.

Mindy refused, so I had to use force to push her off of me. I stood up, and being the gentleman I am, I helped her. I hated her, but I have good manners.

Or at least I like to think I do.

"My father's going to kill me when he finds out about the window," she muttered. She then looked at me with a grin, and grabbed my hand. She dragged me towards her room, and unfortunately pushed me in.

She closed the door, and locked it behind her.

Well, at least there's a window I can jump out of.

Mindy told me to stay here as she walked into the bathroom she had in her room. I waited until I heard her lock the door before I ran to her window. I jumped off, and landed with ease. I ran back to the car where Levi was parked, and tapped the window.

"Took you long enough," Levi scoffed, and I narrowed my eyes at him.

"Let's just go back to my place," Mia ordered, and that's what we did. I prayed that there was some way I could cancel the marriage between Mindy and I.

I've never prayed this hard in my life. Well, besides the time I prayed that Mia would let me—

NOT NOW ACE.

We made it to Mia's house, and like always, her parents weren't here since they were at work. Mia unlocked the door, and locked it behind us as we headed towards her room.

When we entered her room, Mia sat on her bed, with her back rested against the headboard as I sat beside her.

Levi and Ben grabbed a chair, knowing that I wouldn't want them to sit in the bed with Mia and I. Let alone touch it. I grabbed the contract from my pocket, and handed it to Mia. Her eyes scanned the page as she began to read.

Mia turned to face me, and I didn't like the small frown that was on her face.

"There's nothing here. It looks like everything is true," Mia stated, sadness laced in her voice.

I took the paper from her hands, and read it again. There had to be a way out, but Mia was right, there wasn't. To get out of this agreement, there has to be something stated that was wrong. But all the facts were right.

What I hated the most about this contract was that I couldn't divorce Mindy. Who the fuck made that rule? I swear if my dad did I'll fucking beat the shit out of him.

I wanted to rip the contract to badly, and I guess Mia knew as well, so she placed her hand on top of mine. "I'll look further into it, so don't destroy it just yet," she said softly, taking the paper from my hands, and giving it to Ben.

Ben placed it on her desk, and said that he and Levi would go back home. Levi also said that he was going to help by finding any deeper information that the contract could be missing.

I was alone with Mia, but for the first time, my mind wasn't on her. It was on that stupid paper that rested on her desk. If there was no way out, then I couldn't prevent this from happening. Not unless I run away, but anyone would be able to recognize me because of the family business.

Damn, and I dreamed that one day I could marry Mia. I could already imagine it; roses everywhere, me crying when I see her in her dress as she walked down the aisle. But it all had to be ruined by the contract that my father signed.

"Ace." I snapped out of my thoughts as my eyes landed on Mia. She had a concerned look of her face as one of her hand caressed my cheeks. I leaned into her touch, and a small smile appeared on her face.

I leaned in, and kissed her. She immediately kissed me back, wrapping her arms around my neck. I lifted her up so she was straddling me, and I pulled her closer. When we pulled away, I rested my forehead on hers, and closed my eyes.

"You know what we're gonna do?"

"What?"

I opened my eyes, and looked straight into her. She smiled when she saw the determination in my eyes, and chuckled.

People say there was a reason for everything, right? And something must've happened to have my father agree to sign the contract, and indeed something did.

"Back in Spain, there was a slight... issue, and I had no choice."

If my father wasn't going tell us what happened the easy way, then we're going to make him confess the hard way.
