"Give me back my pencil!" I said as I tried to get back my pencil from Chad.

"No. I won't give this to you." He mocked, raising my pencil higher so I couldn't reach it.

He was already much higher than I was. There's no way I can get my pencil back now. My mom just bought me that yesterday because I did well in all of my tests.

"Please!" I begged, struggling to jump to reach it. I can feel tears swell in my eyes. I just really want my pencil back.

Chad was laughing at me. "Aww, you gonna cry-"

I let out a scream when someone punched Chad on the face and my pencil was dropped to the ground.

"Stop picking on her, Chad." The dirty blond boy told him as he was punching him and pushed him to the floor.

I was frozen in my place as I watched the scene in front of me. Suddenly two of our teachers came running in and broke out the fight. Both of them got sent to the principal's office right after.

"Five multiplied by eight is...five, ten, fifteen, twenty-" I was trying to solve the math problem that my teacher gave us, when the door of the classroom suddenly opened.

Walked in Chad and the boy that defended me. I didn't mind Chad, my eyes only followed the boy as they approached the teacher and gave her a paper that had been folded. The teacher said something to them before dismissing them to find a seat.

I saw the boy was coming in my way and there was an empty seat beside me so I grabbed his hand and told him there was an empty seat next to me that he can sit on. He smiled at me and nodded. I noticed that his eyes were green! I have never seen a lot of people with green eyes.

Just as he was to take his seat on the chair, he introduced himself. "Hi, I'm Jackson. You can call me Jack." His lips were formed into a shy grin.

"I'm Callisa. But everyone calls me Callie." I offered him a handshake which he accepted. "I forgot to thank you for getting my pencil back, but you got in trouble so I'm sorry."

"It's okay. It's not your fault. Chad was just being a bad guy and kept on bullying you. He tried to do it to my sister, too, but luckily I was there to defend her."

"I don't have a sibling to defend me like that." I smiled sadly.

"It's okay, I'm here. If you want I can be your friend who will always protect you."

"Really? You want to be my friend? I don't really have a lot of friends."

"Well, consider me one of your friends now. We can sit together during lunch and trade our food."

Never have I thought that that day would be the day that the green eyed boy would be my best friend for years to come. Ever since that day, we've done most of the things together, including his younger sister by a year, Lavender or we like to call her Lav. She had become my best friend, too. We had thousands of sleepovers and adventures together.

"I have everything planned out for our perfect girls' night!" Lav exclaimed, holding a small basket filled with nail polishes.

"Tell me all the details." I throw my overnight bag on the beanbag in the corner before plopping myself on her bed.

Lav sat next to me. "So I already prepared all the snacks-"

She was cut off when her bedroom door opened with a big bang. "What's up, people?!"

"MOM, JACKSON IS IN MY ROOM AGAIN!" Lav shouted.

"Hey, I'm just here to join the fun." He shrugged his shoulders, walking closer to the side of the bed where I was.

"It's called girls' night, so you're not allowed, Jack." I pondered.

"I can be a girl, too! Look!" He put both of his hands on his waist and posed like a constipated model. "I can pass as a girl, too."

"You barely even pass Chemistry." I playfully rolled my eyes.

"It's not my fault our teacher is very boring during class."

Lav took a photo of Jack with his ridiculous pose. "And when your fans see this photo of you,"

"Hey, don't you dare! They might make a meme out of it! Callie, help me out here!" He whined to me like a baby.

I stick my tongue out at him. "Come on, Jack, it's girls' night. I need to spend some quality time with my bestie here," I said, putting an arm around Lav. "Because you're always following us like a lost dog."

"Hear that brother, I'm her best friend not you." Lav taunted.

"I thought I was your best friend?!" He stomped his foot. "The betrayal! I was your friend first for an hour during Math class in third grade."

Both Lav and I just gave him a blank stare.

Jack grabbed and held my hand. I look at our intertwined hands, feeling my cheeks flush. I was completely entranced with our hands holding that I let out a huge yelp when he suddenly yanked me into his arms. "My best friend!" He declared.

Best friend, huh?

*skip forward to tenth grade*

"Jackie! Jackie! Jackie!" I screamed as I saw him exit the airport. I ran up to him and attacked him with a bear hug.

"Woah, woah, Angel." He wrapped his arms around me tight like what I was doing to him. "I know, I missed you, too."

Jackson finally just ended his North America and Europe tour after he was gone for almost two months. He was at his career where he has a huge number of following and is getting recognized everywhere by his fans. I'm really proud of him for where he is now in his career. I'm really jealous of him, not because he can sing, I can't sing to save my life for goodness sake, but because he gets to meet all of our favorite idols that we used to only see on screens and he gets to travel to new places while I'm stuck at home.

We talked all the way during the drive to his house. I've been telling him what has been going on at school and basically everything while he was gone. Jackson still goes to regular school with us when he's not busy with his music or job. I guess he gets the advantage from our school that he can get home schooled for half of the school year and still pass the grade. He's been in and out of the school ever since he blew up.

"Can we go back to your house and stay at the tree house?" He asked.

I have a treehouse in my backyard. My dad built that when I was really young. It was still big enough that we could still fit inside even though we're teenagers now. Last year, I worked my but off so I can give it a makeover. Jack and Lav helped me, of course. It took most of our summer renovating the thing and I was pleased with the outcome of it.

"Mom, I'm home!" I screeched as I walked in the front door. "And I brought in someone, not entirely, special."

Jackson pinched the sides of my stomach when I said that. I swatted his hands away and led us to the kitchen and grabbed each of us bottled waters.

"Is that Jackson, I see?" My mom cooed by the kitchen entrance before giving him a hug.

"Anna!" Jack exclaimed as he hugged her before pulling back. "I bought you a little something from my tour in France." He gave her a small designer bag with an expensive perfume inside.

I rolled my eyes. I swear, he always does this all the time to impress my mother. Show off.

Running my hands through his hair, Jackson was resting his head on my lap. "Tour would have been more fun if you came with me." He said.

"You know I can't." I sighed. "I'm scared of leaving mom all alone now that I found out she has cancer. I want to be there for her when she needs me."

"I understand." He said sympathetically, sitting up and pulled me in for a comforting hug and gave me a kiss on the head. "I love you."
