《Alpha - Hell Rider's MC #2 -》Chapter 13

The next morning after my kiss with Scarlett, I was woken up by my phone ringing.
Groaning, I leaned over and grabbed it from off of the bedside table. I didn't even bother to look at who was calling me before I answered.
"Hello?"
"Rains is requesting you," Butcher said, getting straight to the point.
My mood immediately soured and I sat up. "Did she say why?"
"She wants to talk about Scarlett and Spider's parents."
I was off of the bed and putting a shirt on as soon as he said that.
"Be there in a few."
I hung up and walked quickly out of my room and downstairs. Not even bothering to acknowledge the people around me, I made a beeline for the shed outside. The hotter weather was making me sweat more and as I walked I tried to ignore the beads of sweat rolling down the sides of my face.
Walking into the shed I was immediately greeted by Butcher.
"She hasn't talked since she made her request. Jason and Hook are guarding the cell that she's in right now," he explained as he walked beside me.
I just hummed in acknowledgement as I kept my fast pace, never once slowing down.
As we neared Raine's cell I saw Jason looking in through the small window and I could see the look of confusion on his face from a distance, so when I got closer I looked through the window to see what he was looking at and was shocked.
Raine was sobbing.
This whole time that she had been in the cell she had been calm. Granted the first week she was in she was trying to get out, but she had never broken down in the way that I was seeing before me.
Tears were streaming down her face consistently, her eyes were red and puffy and her whole body was shaking with each sob.
"How long has she been like this?" I asked Jason.
He shrugged. "She was fine when Butcher called you and I didn't look in until just now. So I don't know what started this either."
"Could just be a ploy to try and get pity," I muttered as I took the keys from him and unlocked the door. The three men watched as I opened up the cell door before handing Jason the keys.

I could hear Raine's sobs now that the door was open and I rolled my eyes before stepping in. Immediately she looked up at me.
"Talk."
She sniffled before nodding.
"Spider's parents found out where he was about six years ago. They found my contact information because of the club I used to work at, and they contacted me to get information about him. At first I refused but then they offered me money. Joker and I had been arguing about our money situation for a long time, because he said I spent too much of it while he would rather save as much of it as he could. So I agreed."
"You did this for money?" I asked in anger. I thought her motive was that Joker had done something to piss her off but no. She did it because she wanted to go shopping more.
She nodded slowly. "My shopping addiction was horrible. I constantly wanted to go to the mall but Joker insisted on saving up money in case we wanted to adopt a kid in the future since I can't have kids of my own. The more information I have them the more money I got. I told Joker that I had gotten a job at the hotel a couple towns over, the really nice one that a lot of rich people stay at. He came close to finding stuff out multiple times, but I was always able to make sure he never found out."
"How?"
"I drugged him." She said. "If he became suspicious of something I drugged him to the point where he forgot about anything that had happened the night before. So he was never able to remember finding anything suspicious.
"They were the ones who got Diablo involved," she admitted. "They contacted him after I gave them a list of our enemies and told him to do whatever it took to bring down the club. They figured that if the club was brought down then Spider would go back to them. I didn't want to at first but then they said that if I didn't they would hire someone to kill Joker... and Bryan I just couldn't let them kill my husband," she cried.
I scoffed. "That man wants nothing to do with you anymore. And he will probably never want anything to do with you ever again, especially after I tell him about why you were doing all of this. You brought this upon yourself Raine. Now tell me," I stepped forward. "How did they know about Ripper's mom? Did you tell them?"

Slowly she nodded. "They asked if anyone in the club was a major threat. And I told them about Ripper. I said that he is the most destructive in the club and is hard to bring down. Then they asked about his weaknesses if he had any. Since this was before we met Lilly, I told them about his mom."
"How did you know about his mom?" I interrupted. "He only told a select few people in the club when he first arrived."
Raine sighed. "I overheard him talking to you one day. You two were in your room and I went up to ask you about something and I overheard the conversation. That was after I had already been in contact with Spider's parents and so when I found out, I contacted them about it. They never told me if they were able to contact her but I assume they did since they never asked for anymore information about it."
My anger was about to explode as I watched her wipe her eyes.
"You know, sobbing like a bitch isn't going to help you," I snapped.
She didn't even seem fazed. "I figured it wouldn't. But it was worth a shot."
I glared at her.
"Do you know what they are planning since Diablo failed?"
She shook her head. "They never told me about any backup plan. They probably assumed that it was going to fail but Bryan, they know about Lilly. Before we captured her I told them about Ripper's other weakness. They're going to try and bring you two down first by killing her, and then going after Spider and Scarlett."
"Why are you just now deciding to tell us this?" I asked.
"I couldn't stand being the traitor anymore"

I'm fucking confused.
After the conversation with Raine, I went back to the main part of the compound by the bar and just sat down on one of the couches, lost in thought.
The fuck did she mean she didn't want to be the traitor anymore? She'll always be a traitor no matter how much she wants to help us now.
I groaned at my thoughts and placed my head in my hands.
I wanted a beer.
I wanted this all to be over.
"Hey man you okay?" Spider asked as he came over and sat by me.
I sighed and sat back up.
"No."
"What happened."
"Raine."
"What do you mean Raine?" He asked, shocked. I haven't exactly talked about her outside of assigning people to guard her cell.
"She told me some information that now I'm stressing out about. Your parents sure are something," I admitted.
He sighed. "I never meant to bring the club into this. It's why I never told you guys about my parents. I thought that if I just pretended they didn't exist then they would go away, but obviously that's not the case," he scoffed.
"Problems are never resolved by forgetting. You can't forget something that hurt you emotionally. And even if you do forget what happened, you never forget the way it made you feel. You carry those feelings with you for the rest of your life until you're brought closure. The best way to move on isn't to forget. It's to find out why it happened."
Spider stared at me after I finished.
"You know, I think that's the wisest thing anyone has ever said to me," he chuckled.
I smiled. "You learn from experience. I may not be wise from my age, but I'm not stupid because of the things I've had to go through."
"Are you sure it's not because of your age?" He asked while smirking. I rolled my eyes.
"Yes."
"How do I know you're not a hundred year old man that can just change the way he looks?"
I laughed. "Because that's impossible dumbass."
He chuckled and stood up.
"Take care brother."
"See ya Spider."
After he left I was once again left alone with my thoughts.
One thing was for sure though,
I wouldn't let them win.
